The playoff battle is very close, with nine teams only two wins apart, and not even the leading Limoges and Strasbourg can say with certainty they'll get in. Five teams started this weekend with the same score at the top, Limoges and Strasbourg won, while Paris and Dijon scored defeats in away games. This opened the door for Le Mans to join the leading Dupraz's and Collet's teams with a potential win today. However, they have a very tough job ahead of them. Nancy are looking for a win in front of their own crowd, which would tie them in points with Le Mans, Paris and Dijon.

After four great games in which they won the matches through great defense (65 or less points by their opponents), Nancy's streak was broken in Strasbourg last Monday. Weisz's team did not play as tough as they did in their previous matches, and only intermittently played like they were one of the best defensive teams of the league. During those periods it was clear they could handle Strasbourg, they would take off a bit, but unfortunately for them, those moments were too rare. When the home team are shooting 57%, it's very hard to beat them in their own court.

- We had 20 turnovers, which is too much for a win in Strasbourg. Hannah can be great, but he sometimes lacks inspiration in key moments. Grant played a great game and Banks being away was not felt too much. The first half decided the game- said Weisz after the defeat.

Today we can expect Nancy to do much better defensively. This season they've proven they can play against Le Mans, by winning both away games against them and allowing them only 105 points during 80 minutes of basketball. After the decisive victory in the league match in December, Nancy also did better in the Cup game early in March, when we saw a huge battle for every point. back then Le Mans scored just 49 points at home, and were completely powerless against Falker, Pietrus and the rest of the team.

Still, Le Mans can be somewhat more relaxed going into this match. They are one win ahead, playing an away game, and also have a much easier schedule in the last four rounds. They'll be playing two home games against teams fighting to avoid relegation (Le Havre, Roanne), while away matches against Pau Orthez and Orleans are also games where they have a shot. The away clash with Nancy is the toughest game in the remainder of the regular season, and Jackson is aware that a victory here would allow for a much better ranking before the playoff.

The away team are arriving emboldened by two victories that came after very good performances. After winning with very good offense against leading Limoges, Le Mans beat ASVEL with excellent defense, limiting their opponents to just 63 points, and also doing much better offensively in the second part(46 points by Le Mans).

Wood, Duggins, and the rest of the team are facing a great test today. In his statements to the media prior to the game, Jackson stated that Nancy don't suit his team as an opponent, but he was certain that his players will do much better than they did in the first two clashes against them earlier this season. However, Nancy are even tougher in front of their own fans, allowing the opponents 70 or more points in only 3 home games this season. The Cup game against La Havre turned into an exhibition game in the second part, Orleans managed to get into overtime with 26 points in the last period after being the underdog throughout the match, and only Chalon impressed here, but they are the most efficient team of the league. The remaining two home defeats came after extra time. Nancy will be even more motivated after a defeat in Strasbourg, and their schedule in the next two rounds brings an away game vs Chalon and a home match with Paris, so a defeat would seriously jeopardize their playoff chances.

Two H2H's this season have shown that Le Mans don't like playing against Nancy. Coach Jackson admitted that as well even though he believes his players will react better today. However, Nancy are much better and stronger at home than away. If Le Mans scored 56 and 49 points at home and lost by a double-digit difference, I don't think they will get 70 points today so easily. That option is also great as Le Mans have scored 68 points in both games last season, but I think Nancy will settle this with a handicap. The game is much more important for them, Le Mans are a win ahead and have an easier schedule in upcoming rounds. Nancy are able to score 75-80 points against any team at home, Falker and Pietrus should ensure their domination in the air, while their strength has proven to be a too big obstacle for Wood and the guys. I see this game at 75/80-65/70, I expect Nancy to win by 7-8 or even 10 points and this bet seems like a great option.
