The rivals from the north did not have the best of starts as they scored 4 goals between themselves in four rounds and they collected a total of 6 points. Truth be told, the list of fixtures was not too kind on either team but that doesn't change the fact that more was expected from both teams, especially Sligo who failed to score against Bray and have lost last three games by 0-1.
Coupled with Derry's lack of efficiency (scored both goals away, and didn't score in two home games) and that last seven out of eight head-to-heads saw less than 3 goals, a classic "under" is a logical move. The bookmakers have realized this and the odds for this option are relatively low, but the option in which the stakes are returned in case of two goals seems much more acceptable. I believe that both Derry and Sligo will want not to lose the game tonight after their run of poor results and both teams will probably approach this game more seriously, and even one goal can be decisive in such circumstances.
