UNICS completely dominated the game yesterday

Trinchieri's team had a +32 lead at the start of last period and had he not made so many rotations, UNICS would have won by an even higher margin. Samara's leaders played about 30 minutes in that game and things will be even more difficult for them

With a convincing performance in the first game, UNICS have just confirmed that this series will be one of the most predictable ones. The difference in quality is too big and UNICS's serious approach from the start has left very little space for Samara's players. We have seen total domination from the Kazan team for three periods while Samara only managed to make the defeat slightly more bearable in the last quarter.

UNICS were without Kajmakoglu once again, while Veremeenko played only for one minute due to minor injury. Even without them, UNICS have shown the width of their bench and have been trying to break Samara down from the first whistle. At the start of last period, they were up by +32 (78-46), their biggest lead in the game, but Trinchieri gave all his players a chance and allowed Samara to close down the gap. He was already thinking about today's game.

- For the first time in my life, I will play two playoff games in two days, that doesn't even happen in the NBA. We haven't played a VTB League game for 60 days and now we have 2 in 2 days and it was very important to make proper use of the players. Tomorrow is the most important game of the series, the second home game. I think we will see a different type of basketball tomorrow. We used a wide rotation today and I'm happy with everyone who played - said Trinchieri who will have Vermeenko at his disposal today, but will still be without Kajmakoglu. 

- It's not nothing serious with Veremeenko, only a minor injury. He will be able to play tomorrow. We didn't want to risk his health today.

Yesterday's game confirmed that Samara don't have a large enough squad to rely on. Even though it was clear they had no chance after 15 minutes, Bazarevič didn't rest his leaders to save them for today. Four of his crucial players got at least 28 minutes - Miles 33, Nichols 3 and that will surely be a problem today. A good performance from Ignierski (22 pts, 10/16 field goal) didn't help Samar, and he was the only man to handle home team's aggressive defense, in addition to Zabelin and Nichols (14 pts each).

- We were not ready for Kazan's strong performance. They were perfectly ready for this game, they used a wide rotation. They are physically superior on many positions, while Goudelock is also an important factor. We didn't use our chances and the rebounds were also a problem (41-23 for UNICS). We will see what happens tomorrow - said Samara's coach Bazarevič.

Today's game should be a similar story. The difference in quality is just too vast and there is no doubt Trinchieri will insist on maximum dedication. Had they not relaxed in last 5-6 minutes, they would probably have won by over 30 points. Fatigue will be an additional problem for the visitors today as well as the leading men will have to play for over 30 minutes if Samara want to stay more or less in the game. Against UNICS's aggressive defense, it will be very hard to withstand it.

Even though the margin is higher by two points, I will go with the yesterday's tip once again. What I saw yesterday makes me feel safe. Everything from yesterday goes for today as well. At the moment, UNICS are better by some 20 points regardless of the venue. Without Kajmakoglu and Veremeenko yesterday, they could have easily won by 35-40 points had it been necessary, but Trinchieri made a smart move and spared his main men in the final period. His statement makes me very assured as he realizes the job is not done yet and he demands maximal concentration for this game. As was the case this season, UNICS will not relax with the easy task they had yesterday but could be even more convincing, in full throttle until the end. All credit to Samara for reaching the quarter-finals but they had the easiest route here. The fact is they struggle a lot when faced with an aggressive opponent. Bazarevič doesn't have enough replacements on his bench. Miles, Nichols, Ignierski, O`Bannon played almost the entire game yesterday, even though they were down by 30 points. Fatigue will be a major problem today as they will have a hard time playing for another 30-35 minutes against this UNICS. I expect a new win for the home team by at least 20 points and unless they relax like they did yesterday, they could even hit +30. The braver punters can go for a higher handicap with a smaller stake.
