Hungary had an easy task against Australia, Canada lost an already won game

Hungary were up by 8-1 at one point against Australia, while the Canadians had 7-2 against the USA. The former won but the latter lost

Hungary had a furious start of the World League. They got a convincing win against Australia and the result doesn't even reflect the real state of things in the pool. At one point, it was 8-1 for them.

- We have gotten 9-9 against Australia recently and I expected them to put up a much better resistance. But they didn't have a real center and that made their offense very inefficient. We played a solid match but I expect my players to be even faster - said the Hungarian coach Benedek.

They should have another easy game today as Canada shouldn't be a bigger obstacle than Australia.

Canada had a great start of their game against the USA. They were up by 5-2 at half-time and by 7-2 during the third period. They were up by 8-5 at the start of the last period and it seemed as if Canada couldn't lose the game. But they suddenly 'disappeared' from the pool and allowed their opponents to score 7 goals in the last 8 minutes of the game and ended up losing the game with a very convincing margin. 

- This game has shown we are still not mature enough. We lack experience to close down games like this and win. That comes with years of experience, with a lot more games in the pool - admitted coach Beslin after the game while Boyd added:

- At 7-2, we stopped playing. This is a team sport and when someone is not doing well, the others should pull him through. We obviously transferred the negative energy from to each other and we suffered a real debacle. We have to learn our lesson from this. 

The young Canadian team is facing an even bigger challenge today. The Hungarians will show whether the real face of Canada was the first 20 minutes or the last 12. 

The Hungarians scored 11 goals against Australia and their coach Benedek was not completely happy with their efficiency and speed of their play. I expect them to pick up the tempo, which should lead to a few more goals. If the Americans were able to score 10 goals against Canada in 12 minutes, I think Hungary can score 13-14 goals in 32 minutes. And if that's the case, I think this 18.5 margin is definitely low enough. The Canadians know how to score, they have a solid offense but their defense is a disaster. In last 20 days, they have conceded 12 against USA, 8 against Kazakhstan, 8 and 10 against Japan, 13 against China, 11 against Australia, and Hungary are a much better team than all of them.
