Lokomotiv won all of their 17 Eurocup games, but that would all go to waste in case they lose by 3 or more points today. This is one of the key games of the season and Trinchieri's Brose proved just how tricky an opponent they can be

Lokomotiv won all of their 17 Eurocup games of the season but that won't mean anything if they slip today. They have a very narrow lead from the first game in Germany, meaning everything is starting over today. A defeat by three of more points would crush Lokomotiv's dreams of winning the title. There is no room for errors as this is one of the key games this season. Lokomotiv had an opportunity to get back home with a greater lead last week but they were also five points down in the final quarter. Brose displayed quality in the second half and cannot be underrated.

- We are in for a very demanding game. We need to restore the energy we didn't have in the last games and keep it up for the entire game. Other than that, we will work on the mistakes we did in the first game in order to avoid repeating them home - coach Bazarevic said. He can't count only on the less important Koljušin.

- We played badly in the second half in Germany and cannot allow that to happen home. The first half of that road game was the proof we can beat them convincingly of we play a responsible game. We cannot let Brose hope to get through to the next stage when we play them home - Simon said. He's been in excellent for the last few weeks (14 points against Jenisej).

Brose's coach Andrea Trinchieri decided to lift any pressure from his players' chest ahead of the trip to Russia.

- No one is expecting for us to knock out one of the most powerful European teams from this competition. This is a game we have prepared for for basically 6 months. It's a knock-out stage game but we are under no pressure - Trinchieri said and added:

- In spite of everything, we'll try and surprise them. Every possession will count. We cannot let them get into runs because we saw what happened in the first quarter of the first match. Good thing is, we have nothing to lose. We are a team with players who have almost no experience in European competitions. 

The Bamberg-based team proved they can deal with Eurocup's top defense quite well in the first match. They almost even won despite losing by up to 16-point at some points in the game. The German team will definitely need to bring the number of turnovers down and their centers need to make a bigger contribution.

Brose have had a quite a good preparation for this game. They beat Hagen away in a Bundesliga meeting Saturday by managing to limit the run-and-gun opponents to 57 points, which is really not an easy thing to do. They settled the game in the last period, which they opened with a point-deficit. But they went on to limit Hagen to 8 while scoring 23 points. They were dominant in rebounding and finished with 22 rebounds more than the opponents. 

Forward Miller, who was brought in as a substitute for the injured Josh Duncan, had his debut against Hagen. He didn't play brilliantly but also didn't do badly, considering it was his first game at the club (7 points and 4 rebounds in 13 minutes). It was the straight 14th win for Brose in Budesliga.

As Trinchieri said, the meeting with Kuban today is the one in which Brose have nothing to lose and that is basically their only advantage ahead of this game since the Russians have better quality.

Lokomotiv returned from Germny with minimum advantage, although I think it could've been a lot more convincing. The Russians dominated in the first half, but later they fell and allowed Brose to come back into the game in front of the full hall; they even took the +5 lead. In the end quality was crucial and Lokomotiv won. Today Brose won't have the fans behind them to raise them in difficult times and I think Lokomotiv will score a double-digit win. All 17 wins so far in the competition speak of their quality and that they're one of the main favorites to win the trophy. If they want to reach it, they don't have the right to fail today. This season only Buducnost covered this margin in Krasnodar in Eurocup, but it was an unimportant math when Lokomotiv practically already secured the first place in the group. Krasiyaka, Valencia and a number of other good teams have been convincingly beaten and I think a similar destiny awaits Brose. The Germans can press the defense, but I think they will have great problems with the best defense in the competition. Lokomotiv has a very mobile frontcourt and they can reach easy points from their defense, which will make the offense easy. I see this match as a one-way street. Simon believes this can be a convincing win, and I expect them to confirm that on the court.
