Injuries and absences an important factor prior to the decisive match

Today Khimki will be without their center because the injured trio (Honeycutt, Davis, Augustine) was joined by Pateev. Lokomotiv's Delaney was injured in the fourth match, but he'll still be able to help his team. A lot will depend on Randolph's condition

In the third match, Khimki, and especially in the second half, looked lost, a bit uninterested. However, in the first 20 minutes of the fourth match they showed why they won the Eurocup. Lokomotiv can count their home defeats on the fingers of one hand, and Khimki made a huge +22 until half-time. The second quarter as key; Khimki won that with 28-9. Later Lokomotiv tried to get back. Khimki fell a bit, but the capital from the first part was enough for a win.

- The second half was difficult and and we had luck at certain moments - Kurtinaitis admitted.

A few minutes before the end Lokomotiv were only six points behind Khimki, and they had an opportunity to complicate the finish, but Khimki are too experienced to let that slip by. Kurtinaitis was a lot more satisfied with his players' approach than a few days earlier.

- Last time I said that some of the boys want an earlier break. However, today we felt additional energy, we played a lot more calmly and with more self-esteem.

Khimki were yet again without their main centers, but that couldn't be felt. Moreover, they had more rebounds than Lokomotiv (37-24), and Claver was once more great (10 points and eight rebounds). Khimki had five players with a double-digit number of points which, next to a great defense (only 67 points conceded) was enough for success. It's especially worth to point out Popovic who added 16 points to winning; 13 in the first half.

- He helped us a lot, even though he needed a lot to recover and get into shape - said Kurtinaitis.

Khimki did the harder part of the job in trying to do a turnover, but today they have to confirm that win. This season they lost only two home matches, but one was against Lokomotiv. They will again be without the same trio (Honeycutt, Davis, Augustine), and prior to today's match an additional problem is probably the absence of the third center - Pateev.

- We're left without our real center. We'll have to come up with something and play with double amount of energy. It's no secret that a lot of our offenses go over the center - said Kurtinaitis.

Lokomotiv missed the chance in front of their fans to confirm the finals so it will be a lot harder to do that today. Except for the fact that the final key game will be played on the opponent's home court, Khimki came back to the series psychologically after winning three days ago.

- We know it's going to be tough, but we have to be ready. The second half in the fourth match is positive before the key match. If we had been more lucky, we could have earned the uncertain finals - said coach Bazarevic who appreciated Khimki's defense as a crucial factor:

- Their defense is great, we couldn't run through the counterattacks which gave us a lot of trouble.

Lokomotiv were kicked out of their routie with Delanye's injury in the critical second quarter. The good news for the away team is that he will be able to play today.

- The reason for our fall in the second quarter was Delaney's injury which limited us a lot because he was an important part of our plan - said Bazarevic whose leader was quite under his level (14 points, but 4-for-14 from the floor).

The big influence for the outcome was the back shot. While Khimki had an excellent 10-for-19, Lokomotiv had the miserable 2-for-17. Lokomotiv will have to do a good job in defending Khimki's shots because that's currently their biggest threat.

If the home centers really won't be able to play, Lokomotiv will simply have to use the quality they have in the paint. A lot will depend on the fact if Randolph will be available because he's a very important player for Lokomotiv.

- The stakes go now for everything we did in the last couple of months and this is the moment when the team have to play above their limits. We know we can beat Khimki, we believe in ourselves and we'll fight until the end - Voronov was optimistic before the match.
