A derby of the two only undefeated teams in the German championship. Oldenburg are coming as leaders, so far in the season they defeated Goppingen, Metzingen, Berlin and Buxtehuder, drew against defending champions Thuringer. And that is the first reason for my believing that Oldenburg will stay, not only within the margins of the offered handicap, but also undefeated after today's game. Oldenburg's schedule was more difficult, they faced three teams that are aspiring to the top of the league table, two of them are currently in the top 4. Leipzig haven't faced Thuringer, but they faced the same three teams Oldenburg faced. They only broke Berlin at the end, they convincingly defeated Buxtehuder, but they lost a point against Metzingen. In the last round they defeated Leverkusen (who have only one win this season) with a goal in the last seconds of the game.

The second reason are injuries, there are some on both sides, Oldenburg are missing left wing Birke, an important part of the team, and back Julia Wenzl, who they can replace with a player from their wide roster. Liepzig are missing Atadottir, Rode, Sturm, and it has been announced that Mietzner and Diehl could play today. They haven't played a single game this season. Leipzig rotate 8-9 players in the field and in the last two matches there were evident drops in the finish of the game, and they were in situations that one ball decided the game. The team led, by German players Angie Geschke and Caroline Muller is currently playing the best handball, they have momentum and there is definitely value in today's match-up, not only in the offered handicap on Oldenburg, but on their win as well.
