No end for the Pelicans' struggles

The Pens have only one win after 12 games and their decimated roster is now set to face the Texas machinery that is on a 6-game winning run

Coach Alvin Gentry already used 11 different starting 5s this season. His team suffered another blow Tuesday when Davis had to leave the floor with a shoulder injury (the third one in his short carrier). He didn't play in Oklahoma City the following day and neither did Jrue Holiday (rest), Asik, Cole, Perkins, Pondexter and Evans (injuries).

- The season is long and almost no team can get through ti without some troubles. I think we'll be a pretty good team once we're complete. I have no doubt about it - Gentry said.

Even though he had only 9 players at his disposal, most of whom have spent quite a few minutes on the floor the night before, Gentry's team managed to hit quite a few points against OKC. Who knows how the game might have ended up if they managed to stop Russell Westbrook, who hit 40 points.

- He did great. Things are easier for everyone when he's doing like that. All we do is catch and take shots, which is the easiest thing in NBA - Kawhi Leonard said after finishing with 20 points.

The Spurs would love it for LaMarcus Aldridge to improve his performances. He combined 17 points in the last 2 games, which is a miserable record for someone who recorded at least 21,0 in each of the past 5 seasons. On the other hand, the team from Texas as more than enough other weapons. The focus is on the defense anyway, through which they limit the opponents to only 91,3 points.
