Olympiacos are to face Vasas from Hungary in the Challenge Cup round of 16 first leg game. Greek started the European season in the better-quality CEV Cup in which they both both matches to a different Hungarian opponent. There are a few things that are different now compared to those matches. Olympiacos were without their starting opposite Cvetanva bck then and without the strating middle blocker Giota in the first match. Lazarevi, their Serbian receiver didn't play the second match. The Greek team has been complete for a few weeks now, they have 8 wins in 8 Greek championship matches. The last of those is a in over Panathinaiukos in the derby last weekend (3-1).
Vasas are the second best Hunarian championship team this season. They lost to Linamara, who beat Olympiacos in CEV Cup 2-3, after being two sets down. They have three Hungarian internationals, two Brasilians and an American on the lineup. Top Hungarian middle back Vasci is out with a fist injury. The odds are set based on the two matches Oly played with Linamar, but the situation is completely different now. I expect Oly to win convincingly here since they have very good offense solutions and the home team advantage.
