An instant chance of revenge for Valencia

These two teams played in Valencia last week and Limoges managed to inflict the first defeat of the season to today's visitors. This will be a debut for Dusko Vujovic in front of Limoges' fans

Limoges put up one of the most surprising performances of the season to bring to an end Valencia's perfect 28-game winning run. It was a perfect debut for Dusko Vujosevic at Limoges. The fans welcomed them back home as champions and the schedule decided that Vujosevic is to have his home debut against the same team from Spain. 

After a great win, Vujosevic couldn't be in charge of the team in the Cup game against Bourg since the papers weren't all in order. Assistant Paravaud lead the team instead. Vujosevic was officially not allowed to lead the team but he was allowed to sit on the bench. Either way, Limoges won that game but far from it that they got the win easily. 

Bourg are currently top table in the second French division. They were in ProA last season, which is why Limoges settled the game only some 10 minutes before the end. The French media report that the team is much better since Vujosevic took over. The new coach is being his usual self - every mistake the players make annoys his horribly, which he goes to openly show on the sideline. What was already good before he took over - the defense - is now even better.

We now play fast-paced game, we have more steals and get easy points - Parvaud said and added he knows it will take some time for the players to figure out exactly what Vujosevic wants from them. The new coach was making a lot of changes to the team throughout the Bourg game but it's clear that Boungou-Colo is already his favorite. 

He hit 23 points against Valencia and spent more time on the floor in the Bourg game than any other player (28 minutes, 15 points). He was one of the 6 players who finished with double digits. Overall, Limoges beat Valencia on account of the brilliant shooting night (14-for-23 from the three point range). Something like that will be tough to repeat, which is why they have to focus on what they can control, which is Vujosevic's favorite segment - the defensive end.

Valencia are looking for vengeance today. Only Limoges beat them this season but Valencia went on to prove that defeat doesn't mean they've lost quality as they beat Barcelona last weekend away.

Valencia had ups and downs in that game, as well as an 8-point deficit at half time. A great defense in the in the second half saw him turn things around and could have won the game in regulation time. But, they lost focus and allowed Barcelona to score a three pointer for overtime. Instead of falling apart like some expected, Martinez's team displayed character like so many times this season to win:

- We won a great game. I'm particularly happy with defense. We controlled everything that is good about their game brilliantly. We got a big help from the bench, which was crucial.

Hamilton added 15 points from the bench, Diot 11 points, 4 and assist, while Shurn finished with 12 points and hit two extremely important 3s in the very final part of the game. 6 of Valencia players finished with double-digits in the end.

They now have a chance to make amends for the only slip in 30 games this season. Limoges simply had one of those days when every shot finished inside the rim. Valencia will not allow them 92 points for sure today and their defense will definitely take Limoges more seriously. If they could win Barcelona away, why wouldn't they be able to beat Limoges as well?

The first had-to-head played only week ago finished at 164 points. Limoges had a crazy shooting night and hit unbelievable 92 points. That cannot happen today because Martinez will see vengeance for the only defeat his team suffered in 30 games through defense today. Vujosevic is very similar to him when it comes to style and he puts defense first as well. Only shooting of over 60 percent for each team can get this at over 150 points. I don't think that can happen. Limoges were limited to an under at this margin in 9 out of 10 last home games, while Valencia have 3 unders in 6 Eurocup games. But, they did play faster-paced teams. When it comes to slower teams like Limoges, they always recorded unders and I believe this game won't be any different.
