This is a very important match since both teams need to win to secure the next round, while a defeat could see one of these opponents not get through. The Spain vs Sweden game will have a say in that as well, of course. Since this game is to be played first, we cannot expect either of these teams to hold back.
As for this head-to-head and some previous ones, we can't really draw comparisons as the circumstances are significantly different today. Both teams now play different game styles and the coaches are different too. The previous h2h results can therefore be misleading.
Germany are playing rather fast and have a tendency of playing as short attacks as possible. That will not really be possible today since Slovenia have a fast transition into defense. As for the German defense, we can expect a 6-0, which will not suit the short and technically skillful Slovenians. Mackovsek is a good shooter but his performances so far weren't that great.
Slovenia's defense is just like any other defense Vujovic was ever in charge of. It's very aggressive and border-line illegal, which could cause trouble for the young Germans, who have not really been faced with such a defense so far. Slovenia have a controlled attack which always looks to spot a player in the best possible position.
This is a clash of two defense-oriented coaches. Every goal will be worth double. It's hard to expect a very productive game - 50 or so goals are much more realistic.
