I don't see a single segment in which Gigounon could match Back today. These are two players of different classes and I think this will become apparent today. His win against Brands after 53 minutes was particularly noteworthy as he had beaten him four times before that match, and this certainly reflects the Czech's great form. Even though Harrison is slowly "waking up", the American is far from such form, especially here. He had "black holes" in both matches and the fact that he lost his serve against Gabashvili on seven occasions is almost surreal. Rosol will not be as forgiving, quite the contrary. All in all, Rosol's form is at a great level, the conditions suit him well and I expect him to continue his positive run against unconvincing Harrison. Details

At first, I though about avoiding this match but the more I watch, the more it seems that the Czech has the advantage. True, he didn't start the year too well but when he's in the right state of mind and gains confidence, he is the player that can harm anyone. I believe that a win against Brands in the first round gave him some confidence and I expect an even better performance from him here. This is a great chance as Tursunov has not been himself lately and he has been struggling with health problems. In the first round against Lacko, he struggled with his back that made him get only 27% of his first serve in the first set. The Slovak later defeated himself, but the impression that Tursunov left was far from good, which is something that even he himself admitted. After everything I've seen, I think the odds of Rosol are unrealistically high, especially as he has already beaten Tursunov earlier. Without any doubt, this is a great chance for another win. This is a clash between the 26th and the 31st player in the world and the former is considered a favorite. He beat red hot Sijslig to put up a solid resistance against Tsonga who went on to reach the finals. After the defeat, he came here where he is defending the quarter-finals. On the other hand, Golubev also played indoors last week (Astana) but he stayed on that tournament until Sunday. He had less time to prepare for a surface that is not his favorite. My opinion is that he will not be himself today while I see Davydenko as fully motivated. With the ranking that he currently has, this is a good draw that he has to use to defense some points. I expect a much closer match here than the odds suggest. These are nothing new for Olivetti, especially in such fast conditions. He is the French version of Karlović who has a hard time getting a break but also doesn't lose his great serve very often. It is all about him and every chance will be golden in this match. He has the form workign for him as he recently got into Montpellier quarter-finals and as he got the invitation here, there's no doubt he will be very motivated. On the other hand, Dodig has the quality and since he also has a great serve, I have no doubt the Frenchman will struggle on the return. Last week in Rotterdam, the Croat won 49 out of 51 points on his first serve against Mathieu and didn't complain about any pain so I expect a good performance from him here. It all leads to a very tight match in which I don't expect a break in the first set. I usually would not recommend opting for a final match, but I'll make an exception here. Having seen everything these two players did this week, I think this match won't be heading in only one direction. Both of them lost only one set on their way to the final, and only one service game as well. I remember the match in the second round from last season very well. Gulbis put up a great resistance then and he could have easily beaten the player who went on to win the tournament. I expect the Latvian to put up an even stronger resistance as he says that he lives for matches like this. He has been very good in last two rounds and his serve has been fantastic. This segment is also working well for the Argentine who is still complaining about pain in his wrist that prevents him from using his backhand the way he wants.
