Boglascio are the least efficient team in the league after Lazio and Sori and have no stars on the team. Acquachiara won easy here, Brescia scored 8 goals easily. These odds aren't realistic given everything I said. Posillipo never gave Roma, Ortigia, Lazio or Trieste a chance in away games. Those teams are of Bogliasco's quality. Sori are the weakest team of Italy, even though are fighting Florenti in a duel so they don't get relegated, but they won't avoid that destiny. Verona are relatively safe in third place and that won't slip away. In the last match they were heavily defeated in Genoa against the champions, but it's always like that when Pro Recco are pumped up, and you play one of the worst matches in the season. Now it's time to redeem themselves, and there are probably no better visiting teams than Sori. Recently Roma got hit here with 15 points of difference, and in the last tougher away matches against Tristo and Savona Verona were more convincing. Sori has nothing to do here, and I expect the hosts to be pumped up, so I wouldn't be surprised if it heads up to ten points of difference. Sori lost with six difference against the weak Bogliasco, and with seven against Acquachiara. Verona beat Sori in a visiting match with seven points of difference, and they should do it at home too. I expected about 10.5 for Pro Recco, 11.5 tops. 13.5 is offered, which would make sense if Recco were hosting Sori or Florentia. Even though the Italian champion can crush 90% of the teams in the world, they still need a few conditions. The Genovese find that when placing strong teams like Jug, who they crushed by eight, or Verona who were beaten by ten this weekend. They don't have problems with the motivation there. If Recco needed to try to get this difference against Roma, they'd do it, but since they have a new match in Napoli in two days and an opponent tougher than this, I'm not sure they'll be motivated against a weaker opponent. Montenegro are without Ivovic, both Janovic players and goal keeper Scepanovic, which will weaken them significantly. On top of that they have problems with centers and all of that makes them no threat for Spain. A lot of Montenegro's players play for the team here and there and they're not the kind of quality that would make Spain fear them. Spain, on the other hand, are basically the same team that played the EC. They were headed into the win back then but then lost it late in the match. They still have the chance to go through if they beat Serbia as well. This is their last official test before the Olympics qualifiers which is why they will try and best here. In that case, they should win Montenegro without any problems. Details

After 54 matches without being defeated in all competitions, Pro Recco lost. It can happen to the strongest of teams, even though we have to say that in Szolnok they were without their first goalie Tempesti, but with his real substitute they will have to deal at the end of the season because Tempesti announced his leave after the Olympic Games. Even though Pro Recco are dominating in Italy, I believe that after Szolnok there will be no problem finding motivation and crushing the opponents are Recco usually do. They didn't cover this margin in away matches only against Brescia and Verona, the second and the third teams of Italy. Against Verona there were seven points of difference. Pro Recco are still convincing. Lazio are weaker than they were before, they're weak in the offense, and it's no wonder when three of their best scorers left them before the start of the season. The young Montenegrins against the Greek national team that had a leftie and a top-level goal keeper. Any win for Olympicaos by less than 5 goals would be a surprise for me. Jadran lost team captain Janovic but even with him, this would be no easier task for the visitors. Olympiacos are superior to them in every way. They trashed Primorje home and they need this win badly. I expect it to be a convincing one. Details

Hats off to Montenegro but they will not mess with Serbian chances of winning the gold here. They did great just by being in the final and I think they will be nothing more than by-standers i the great final. granted, their defense is great but so is Serbian defense. Just ask the Greeks. The offense is not even comparable. While the Serbians shoot from all positions, Montenegro are simply not that dangerous. Ivovic was not where he was at some previous tournaments, while Janovic is not there either. That's not enough for a win over the top defense in the world. A win for Serbia is a sure thing for me and I expect them to win easily, just like in the semis. Details

Even though this was supposed to be a high stake game, now that both secured the Olympic qualifiers almost completely, considering that Mexico didn't apply till the deadline, I'm still not any less convinced the French will win. We should be a bit careful, though, knowing FINA and how they do. Actually, I'm even more convinced the French will win because the Dutch lost their best player and scorer, who had a death in the family. When they needed him to, when nobody else would, he would take the lead, and now the others share more responsibility. The Dutch roster isn't that good that this important absence would go unnoticed.
I believe the French because the debacle against Croatia snapped them out of it, and they definitely don't want to be the 12th if they can end up as the ninth or tenth. They showed their true face against Serbia, being tied up for 20 minutes, to not recount their previous results and matches. That's why I don't see why this game would be evened out, but obviously their match against Croatia influenced this. France are a better team than Netherlands, with better players who play in better clubs, in more important roles. Their technical-tactical readiness is better, and the Dutch showed how much they lack that against Georgia. I believe the French want to get even to the Dutch who beat them a year ago (when France didn't have the complete team). The match won't be played first in the morning, and I expect them to show they're better than the Dutch, especially when they're missing their best player. If the stake was the Olympic qualifiers, the unit would've been even bigger. I think this one is decent when the odds aren't. Details

Georgia will try and make this as unproductive as possible, which saw them stand up to the Dutch last year in EC Qualifiers. It was 5-5 back then. The Dutch are considered to be too big a favorites because of bad defeats Georgia recorded but they are not that bad. Georgia beat the Dutch in a test game ahead of the EV but those kind of results should not happen today. Who ever loses will most likely lose the race for the Olympics qualifiers. The Dutch are not good enough in offense to be expected to score 11 goals. The 9 goals to Croatia probably affected that. Hungary scored 14 against Georgia but Oranje probably cannot get close to that number. I think this game is closer to the one Slovakia and the Netherlands played (5-6) and the qualifying match Georgia and the Dutch played. Details

Things are pretty straightforward for the Greeks here after Hungary beat Turkey by 15 goals, just like they did. If they want to reach the top spot, they have to beat Russia by at least 6 (if they win by 6, the number of goals scored will decide, which means even 12-6 would be enough). That means there can be no holding back. Russia played Hungary and did well. The final 6-goal deficit might not be realistic but if Hungary tried harder, they could have won by more goals. A difference of 6 goals between Greece and Russia is realistic and I expect this to finish like that. Details

I don't Croatia will trash France today. First of all, France are not a bad team at all. Losing to Italy in the last second away or having a lead over Serbia in the last quarter proves that you have some quality. Secondly, Croatia don't seem to be good enough to destroy such a team. Their game against Serbia is not that relevant since that cannot be compared to France, but it does still mean something. Croatia were complete harmless in offense, their top player Sukno is struggling, there is no game when they have an extra man, Muslim and Obradovic don't have good shooting and so on. Granted, Serbia don't a possibility to play defense like Serbia but they are not extremely bad either. Crousillat is back and France will put up a good fight if Croatia do as they did in their meetings a year and a half ago and the one in March of last year. They probably won't be so bland but I don't expect great dominance over France either. Details

Poreč have been struggling with injuries a lot. The setter Jakšetić was practicing with the national team, Pahović, Jozić, Ušić were injured - so all of the starting lineup. In the last two games with the Slovenian teams, coach Stojaković had only four players from the starting lineup (Duspara, Sain, Zahirović and Sučić), at his disposal, and after the tough defeats, he decided to take neither to Hungary! He left the entire starting lineup at home, to recharge their batteries, which means the junior-cadet team went to Hungary, seven-eight of them.
With that kind of a lineup, they'll be easy pray for Vasas who were beaten in five sets yesterday and will definitely be motivated today. There are a few players from the Hungarian national team here, a few international players... their middle block Vacsi didn't play yestereday, but the other ones are here. Poreč lost before even taking the trip by leaving the starters at home, and I expect Vasas to do a serious job like Calcit and Maribor did last year in Veli Jože, not allowing Poreč to go over 14 points total per set. Galatasary cannot compete against the teams like Szolnoki with defense, so it usually looks like an exhibition match against top teams. Jug scored 16 goals here, Galatasaray 10. In their last game in Istanbul, Szolnoki scored 17 and the Turks 12. Galatasaray scored 11 in Hungary. So, they can score even against the best teams even though their team is weaker this season. I don't expect the Hungarian champions to try too hard in the defense, the loss in the Cup probably left a mark on them, but not so much that they wouldn't be good in offense. Turkish defense is very modest, Szolnoki will probably be around last year's numbers again, and Galatasaray will, I hope, keep up with that. Details

Brescia are the favorites and that's fine. But at 1,20 in Naples? Not so much. The home team belong to the upper part of the Italian league, they're on a 5-game winning run and finally have that something they lacked at season start. The team underwent some changes since last season but those changes didn't make them any weaker. Luongo is now scoring pPetkovic's goals, while some other key players stayed on the team. They have experience and quality. Brescia have both as well and they're the better team as the eternal runner-ups in the Italian league but they are not good enough for the odds to be at 1,20 in Naples. Their games away against opponents weaker than this one were not very convincing. They beat Trieste by 4, the feeble Roma by 2 and Savona by 3 goals. Those teams are not as good as Acquachiara, who played a 7-7 draw here last season. This will be Brescia's greatest challenge in their bid to to keep the perfect record going. They are the favorites here but not at these odds. Details

The Hungarians can't be the favorites in Patras with this ratio of strength. As much of a wide choice Hungary have, those who are known to pull the team are not here. The seven of those who played in Kazan won't be in Greece, and their game will show it. Their game hasn't been great for a year now. Benedek's choice without the Varga brothers, Madaras, Szivos shows the Hungarians' ambitions in this competition to a degree. They didn't need their best against Romania and Georgia, but they need them for Greece. On the other hand, the Greeks are always together in Olympiakos. They showed against Primorje how strong they are. They've got nothing to prove anymore, but since they haven't played the World League final for a long time, that's definitely one of their motives, something that can't be said for the Hungarians. The Greeks have the quality, they played for one goal against the Hungarians last year, and they've still got that quality, but it's not the best they have. That's why I think the Greeks have the advantage here. Details

The margins were mostly at 21, 22 and 23 goals in both rounds this season. The margin is now set at 18,5 which cannot be missed out on in World League, even if two top defenses were playing. Romania and Georgia are not exactly top defenses. Georgia played Hungary at 27 and Greece at 28 goals. They scored a lot of goals, 10 to each of those teams and clearly aren't as bad in offense as they are in defense. The Romanians went at 20 and 24 goals against the first two teams in the group. I think their defense is their better segment but playing the Hungarian and the Greek defense is different from playing the Georgian defense. I repeat, the 18,5 margin cannot be missed out on in World League. Details

I didn't expect the odds to be this high at Eger so I can only guess what the reason for it is. It's most likely the fact they don't this win but absolutely doesn't mean they will not try here. On the contrary. They are a better team compared to Barceloneta. They have same team that beat the Catalans by five goals in May when Barceloneta were much better. Granted, Eger sometimes do crazy things. They stood up to Primorje in Croatia and then lost to Ferencvaros. But I beleive they will do as well as they did in Croatia today. If so, Barcelonta won't stand as much chance as the odds suggest. They have played a few good games but they do not seem capable of getting points here. Details

Ortigia are one of the three newly-promoted teams in this season's Serie A. I think they are the worst team on paper alongside Trst even though Sori are currently without any ponits, just like Trst. Roma don't have a single point so far either but they played teams from the upper part of the table (Posillipo, Verona and Napoli). Ortiga got a point against Savona home where they also lost to Brescia 4-22, which would, for example, not happen to Roma. Granted, the Romans lost the important Mirarchi but acquired two Brazilian internationals Gomez and Crivella, plus the well- experienced Mandolini. The home team claims to have prepared very well for this game. They are complete and from that point of view, Roma are the favorite even on neutral grounds because of experience in Serie A and better quality on teh team. I think they've got Ortigia figured out. Danilovic is basically the only player at away team capable of scoring. If they manage to neutralize him, getting the three points should not be a problem here. The Romans beat Verona home, while Ortigia lost even a less difficult visit comapred to this one (to Florentia). This tip can go on its own but it's not a bad idea to put it together with Brescia to get the odds up. Details
