Poland were trashed by Iceland yesterday but Kupelt's team are in for something entirely different today. Italy aren't great even when playing with the top team. They are now here with an extremely young team in which no one is over 17-18. The home team are motivated and very keen on making amends for yesterday's defeat. The win Italy recorded over Bulgaria doesn't fool me. The Bulgarians are really bad. Even the weakened Macedonia trashed them in test games.
When it comes to more important games, Poland played Chile at WC last season and beat them 28-16. They had a 16-8 lead after the first half. The Italian U20 team would have lost to Chile as well probably. They are now 2-3 younger. This is a direct clash for a spot at WC and I expect Kuptel to ask his team to go fiercely from the start to avoid any problems. Poland are capable of playing the kind of defense the Italians won't be able to deal with. I expect a lot of easy fastbreaks for them. To sum up, we have the motivation, the difference in quality and I expect a 10-goal difference at half time.
