This is Astrakhanochka's third match in the new season, three days after they were terribly defeated by Lada Togliatti (22-26). This is Izhevsk's premiere match in this season. The fact is that Astrakhanochka weren't complete, the management lowered the budget and they decided to give a chance to young players. But, the offered quotas are under the influence of their heavy defeat by Lada a couple of days ago.

Izhevsk are miles away from Russia's Top Five, and Astrakhanochka belong there. They ended up the last season as seventh, only once they lost with less than 10 goals of difference against the Top Five. Izhevsk didn't change their draw, left wing Reshetnikova is a plus for the offense, but she's no benefit in the defense. By the end of August they played against Lada whom they've beaten with 25-24 and Lada 2 with 27-16. It's important to note that Lada's best line-up were in Germany at the time.

Last season Astrakhanochka beat Izhevsk twice. At home with 33-24 (19-11) and the second match with the official result of 10-0. The season before, Astrakhanochka won 37-20 and 42-28. Astrakhanochka, even with the young draw, is not the same as Izhevsk. Today they won't go lightly, they want revenge for Lada. Realistical margins for the handicap incline more towards the double-digit difference, and both options for Astrakhanochka's handicap are playable, as well at the total and the one after the first half.
