Barcelona B are a lot weaker this season than the last. Key people like Lakovic, Mbaye, Sulejmanovic, Barton and main scorer Garcia laft. Only veteran Trias and center Sena from Brazil could be mentioned as some more significant summer transfers. Out of those who stayed, Peno, Djedovic and Maziara are expected to show more. Their coach is still Alfredo Julbe who will also be leading Spain's junior national team. That's logical when you consider that this Barcelona is mostly a junior team. If you take out Trias, Barca's age average is 18.3. They had a lot of problems in the pre-season because a lot of the players had to fill up the roster of Barcelona's first team. They just played one official test match and they lost convincingly to Lleida (51-68). Today the additional problem is that Barcelona's first team are playing in the league round. Considering the big number of injuries, surely Barcelona's leader B. Peno will play for the first team today, and thus Sena and Figueras were also pulled into the first team.
Prat is also coming from Catalonia, but unlike Barcelona, they kept all the key players such as Forcada, Roso, Marti and Xabi Lopez. Seven same faces, and they strengthened themselves with the arrival of the experienced wing center Ortega who had a good season in Breogan. A lot is expected from Nikolic who came from Uzice. They took Moix, Barcelona's young hope. The most prominent new arrivals are Nikolic, Nogues and Sans, out of which Sans was the most efficient last season. Pre-season matches showed that Ortega and Nikolic will be solid. Prat mostly played against third-league players, and they beat Lleida from first-league players, quite convincingly in the last check-up in the League Catalana tournament finals (87-70).
Considering how many losses Barca B suffered over the summer, but also considering they will be weakened for three important players, including the best one, I think the odds for Prat's win is a lot bigger than the realistic one.
Except for the away team winning, a good option is also Barca's team under.
