Hungary came in 5th at U18 EC last year. Their only convincing defeat was to France who went on to win the championship (65-76). There are nine players from that EC here. All of the key players are there expect for 4th best scorer Studer. When preparing for the EC, Hungary beat France twice (61-55, 67-61) and lost to them once (61-65). That French team beat Australia and Canada later on. Hungary beat Turkey in preparation games 70-54, 79-37 and Croatia 76-59 away. They will be even better now since Torok joined the team.
Mexico learned that they will play this WC in late May as FIBA gave them a wildcard after suspending Brazil. Mexico finished the U18 American championship in spot 5 and lost to teams like Puerto Rico. The only good-quality opponents they met were Canada, to whom they lost 56-87 (31-37). They are now weaker than last year because they are without second and third top scorer and the best rebounder from the American championship. Mexico do not possess the necessary height or strength. Their quality won't be enough for them to stand up to any of the serious European teams.
