Unterhaching - Hallescher (0:0)

Unterhaching wants to continue the streak

  • Published:

Before the game against Heidenheim, coach Hallea said that he plans on winning six points from the three matches ahead. They lost the first, so they have to win both of the remaining two in order to stick to the plan

Unterhaching triumphed as the away team on Saturday against Münster (3-2), which is their fourth consecutive win in the championship. It should be pointed out that three out of four of those wins were as an away team. It should also be said that the youngest team in the championship - Unterhaching (21 years on average) beat the most experienced - Münster (26.9 years). On top of that, Unteraching, as the least valuable team on the market, beat a team, whose value is 2.2 times greater on average per player. Maybe there are going to be some changes on the market after this achievement (and the previous ones).

In Münster, the away team took the lead during the 17. minute after a cross from the corner and the scorer was captain Welzmüller with a header. This is the fourth goal for the defensive midfielder in this championship and he is the best scorer in the club, along with offensive midfielder Bichler. Munster managed to level the score in the end of the first halftime, and then, in the 56. minute to take a 2-1 lead. The younger players of Unterhaching did not get in disarray because of that, and only six minutes later, center back Erb levels after a corner kick to 2-2. Only three minutes later, 20-year-old forward Steinherr takes the lead for his team, getting three points in the end.

The recent achievements brought Unterhaching to the solid eighth place in the table. With 14 points from eight games (4/2/2) only three points are between them and the third place, which leads to play-offs for entry into the second division at the end of the season.

Unterhaching won only one of the last four matches at home - in the last against Saarbrucken (3-1). The scorer of the decisive goal in Munster, the 20-year-old forward Steinherr is optimistic in the wake of the duel against Hallescher:

- Hallescher is a dangerous opponent, but if we focus again and if everyone is going to do their job, we can surely win the points.

The midfielders Haas and Bichler recovered and the coach-team Baum-Schromm can count on them again.

Coach Schromm is aware that the greatest threat to his team is Hallescher's 'savior' Timo Furuholm:

- Since they brought him (Furuholm) back from Fortuna Dusseldorf, they instantly won three games. Already in the last season, he kept the club in the division with his goals.

Hallescher were beaten after three consecutive wins, and on their stadium too, by the top-ranked Heidenheim (0-1). With a bit of luck, Halle could have stayed undefeated in this match, because Ziebig and Furuholm missed two very good chances in the second half-time. The only scoring happened in the 17. minute by away team midfielder Titsch-Rivero. After the game, Halle players complained that they were unfairly not granted a penalty kick when the ball hit the hand of one Heidenheim player in the penalty area. The disappointed coach Kohler said after the game:

- A draw would have been fair because my team was able to put pressure on the top team of the third division.

After this loss, Hallescher got closer to the 'twilight zone' with only three points in-between. Out of the last seven division away matches, Halle managed to win one, the last, against the second team of Stuttgart. Before that, there was one draw and five losses.

Before the match against Heidenheim, Kohler said that he plans on getting six points from the three games to come. They lost the first, so they have to win the two remaining to fulfill their plan. It seems farfetched because after Unterhaching they are playing an away game in Regensburg, which means that they would have to win both away matches. Maybe they correct their plan in the meantime.

Halle is the only team in the division which did not score a goal in the first halftime. In the eight first halftimes played, they made a goal difference 0-6 and, in that segment, they are the worst team in the division. They are even worse than Burghausen, who won only won point in the championship.

Kohler has all players at his disposal, except maybe the captain who has been injured for a long time, the defensive midfielder Wagefeld and midfielder Ziegenheim.

Haching is on a four win streak, with three of those in away matches. It is sometimes easier to play away matches, especially if the opponents are not playing hard or are in a crisis, such as the Stuttgarter Kickers and Münster, the last two games Haching won. Prior to that they beat Saarbrüecken at home, another team in crisis.
Hallescher is a different opponent to those mentioned before. They play a hard and closed game, and the young forwards of Haching will not have enough room for their actions. Apart from that, Halle will try to win back at least some part of what they lost on Saturday. I believe that the young Unterhaching players will enter the game a bit more relaxed, under the impression of the last few successful matches, while Halle will be fired up to redeem themselves for the Saturday defeat.
I believe Halle is closer to winning, and that's why I would play AH -0.25, where you score half the winnings in case of a tie.
