Aris against old friends with a new coach

Bad results resulted in Aris coach getting sacked, and the new coach Milinkovic has a chance to prove himself against a club Aris tends to beat

Aris started the new season on a bad foot. They didn’t get a single point in three matches, so changes were necessary. The coach,  Giannis Chatzinikolaou was sacked, and was to be replaced by Hector Raul Cuper. That didn’t come through and Aris are now led by a Serbian coach Zoran Milinkovic.  

- I’m happy to be in Aris. It is a great club and I’m glad to have the opportunity of coaching here. We don’t have a lot of time; we need to start practicing in order to beat Levadiakos - Milinkovic quoted.

- This is a positive change. Not that our last coach was rubbish, but the result was, so we needed to change something.- Aris midfielder  Andreas Tatos said.

Milinkovic lacks a single player, but an essential one at that. The attacker David Aganzo is sitting out his last match due to his suspension, but even without him Aris could win.

There are no big differences between Levadiakos and Aris, only a single point on the table. No big changes to the other club in spite of being trounced by Olyimpiakos 5-0 ,with the last 20 minutes a disaster where they took four goals.  

- We don’t want to peer over the fence, we have to concentrate on ourselves, play well and take three points. We need to stay fully focused and we cannot allow ourselves to take simple goals.- Levadiakos left back Georgios Ioannidis said.

The away team will not field two standard A team players, the midfielder Georgios Lambropoulos and the attacker Stelios Vasiliou.

After three rounds Aris has zero points and they simply had to make a change. Coach change, as always, brings positive shock for the team and it was made a t the best possible time - before home game against a team that is their regular customer in Thessaloniki and which is also faced with many problems at the time. In the last 20 minutes of their last match they looked like children and Olympiakos scored four goals in that period and that was an additional blow to their moral after bad first two games. Aris opted for changes, Levadiakos (still) has not.
Home team is missing Aganzo, which is important, but the visitors also miss two starting players so that is not a significant handicap and the visiting team is more handicapped for sure. Odds on Aris have been dropping throughout the week, but some betting houses still keep it high which is certainly something to take advantage of. The chances for Aris win are around 50%, maybe slightly higher and the odds are pretty much missed and Aris win at 2.40 is something that simply has to be taken.
