Kolin have changed the team completely before the season, they have kept only two players from the last year's team. Nymburk will play without an important trio even today, two days ago they played an away game in Estonia

Kolin has a stormy summer behind them, with numerous departures of older players and the arrivals of younger players. Benacek's team will start the championship with eleven new players and they will definitely need time to get to know each other on the court, to understand the movements of each other and to coordinate as much as possible.

- We start the new season with the completely new team. We have eleven new players, but our goals will stay the same. Just as in the previous seasons, we want to fight for play-offs. However, it will not be simple, the league is quite balanced, small nuances will make the difference between the fifth and twelfth position - coach Benacek said.

Although some of the main players of the last season abandoned the club, the management has done its job well and they brought in couple of good reinforcements. These are, first of all, Barnes, who has an excellent season behind him in Nova Huta, the point guard Fields and well known Czech players Licartovsi and Horak. It is a solid team that has a lot of potential in the offense which should be a guarantee, in addition to Predrag Benacek's philosophy, that we will be seeing again an efficient Kolin this season. Pre-season games have confirmed that.

- At this moment I don't know what the specific goals are, but we will definitely try to play attractive and  competitive basketball which will attract spectators and fans - Martin Sykora confirmed.

New season for Kolin starts with the toughest possible test, a game against the reigning champion. Last year's memories are definitely not pleasant. Kolin is a team that was defeated in the most convincing manner by Nymburk, in five games they played, the accumulated score difference amounted to unbelievable -212. Therefore, Kolin lost by 42-43 point difference per game, and they have conceded more than 100 points in four games.

- Nymburk is one of the strongest teams not only in Czech Republic but in whole Europe. Their budget is 25 times larger than ours. We have played against them couple of times, but we haven't been complete not once, every time we missed four, five players. I am sure that we will fight in this game, we want to take advantage of an opportunity if it appears - Benacek said.

However, it is difficult to expect anything more than a honorable defeat and Kolin will actually start the championship in the second round. What could actually help Benacek's players is the tiredness of the opponent after a difficult game two days ago in Estonia and also a possibility that their focus will not be 100%. In addition to that, Nymburk will be again without three important players, although they have proved against Usti that the rest of the team is more than good enough for their opponents in the Czech league.

Nymburk has opened the new season in the best possible way in the VTB league. They have reached a victory during a tough away game in Estonia without important players and they have demonstrated their will to qualify for play-offs. Although Nymburk was leading during the entire game, a series of eight consecutive points at the beginning of the last part was decisive and Kalev didn't mange to catch up anymore. The hero of the game was Radoslav Rancik with 23 points, hitting six three-points out of eight shots. Interestingly enough he was shooting 1/5 for two-points. Nymburk has shot an excellent 55% from play, which helped them to score more than 80 points against a solid opponent.

- First game, first victory. At the beginning of the competition in the somewhat tighter group it is more important to record victories in away games. Today every player that played has contributed to our victory. I don't remember when I have scored three-points, if I ever have. Still, when I look back at my play, I am not that happy - humble Rancik said.

Only two days after a difficult away game, weakened Nymburk is faced with an away game in Kolin. At the first glance it looks like an opportunity for the opponent, but not in the Czech league. The difference between these two teams is huge and although Nymburk doesn't like some away games (Decin, Pardubice), Kolin definitely doesn't belong to this group. Some of their games have shown that last season.

The biggest problem for the host of the game will be the lack of coordination in their play. The team has gone through radical changes during summer and Nymburk is an opponent that will know who to punish them for the smallest mistake. Czech champion will put huge pressure again on the back line where even more coordinated and better teams manage with difficulties. If the champion has enough energy to keep the same pace during the entire game we should see once more convincing victory, although Kemzura cannot count on Simmons Benda and Page again.

    During the morning the info was out that Kolin won't be complete. Coach Benacek won't be able to count on Stefan Licartovski.

    - I'm sorry we won't be complete in the first championship match because Licartovksy was injured. He was one of our best players in the pre-season. However, that doesn't mean we won't fight for the best result possible, and do our best -Benacek said.

I'm repeating my first round tip, although the margin is the same and the opponent a bit stronger. However, Kolin are an away game that Nymburk traditionally do well in. Against Usti the champions showed they wanted the maximum result this season, which guarantees they will be fully committed, at least in the opening moments of their games. Last season they demolished Kolin on five occasions, though that result should be taken with caution as the home team have now put together a completely new team. However, I believe that this will not be a point in their favor. Unlike Nymburk, who have already played three games, Kolin are only now officially opening their season, and there will certainly be a touch of anxiety in the beginning. It will take a completely new team some time to tune up, and Nymburk are the worst possible opponent for them in this moment. The maximum of pressure applied by their players leaves very little space to the opposing guards, leading to turnovers and lightning-quick fast breaks. Using that strategy, Nymburk managed to drop +21 on Usti in the first half alone, though Kemzura himself confirmed his team played pretty poorly in that period. Kemzura cannot count on three important players once again, but he beat Usti without them, as well as Kalev in Estonia, two days ago. Nymburk were not even in the Czech Republic 24 four hours prior to the game, and that will certainly be a problem. However, the season has just started and the players are full of energy. Besides, that issue should not surface in the first half. Their strength and focus might perhaps drop in the second half, and it is to be expected that Kolin will spread their wings a bit as the game draws out. For those reasons this option is the best choice. Last season Nymburk won this away game with +27 and +48, and on both occasion the score at halftime was the same, 50-28.
