Given the situation, I really think this doesn't need much explanation. The Suns probably cannot afford to lose till the end of the season, maybe one defeat only would do, and today's game is particularly important. Because, the Pelicans are definitively an easier opponent than the Spurs, Mavs, and Grizzlies, the team they meet afterwards. If they win tonight, they can basically kiss the play off goodbye - winning the remaining three games will be tough, not to mention that two of those three teams are their direct rivals for the remaining two positions. The Suns came to New Orleans doing great, having won 8 out of the last 10 games. On the other hand, the Pelicans are on a five-game losing run (each game was lost by at least 4 points; 12,2 on average). Besides, their top player Anthony Davis might not play, and even if he does, he won't be even close to his best performances. Even with him doing his best, the Suns beat the Palicans by 12, 7, and 6 points this season. A few more players who participated in those games won't be there tonight, and there's Davis with his problems. The visiting team will, on the other hand, be more motivated than ever, which makes me pretty certain about their win.
