    The first two games were a proof of the huge difference in quality. Aris' only advantage in this series would have been the fan support in home games but they were rightfully punished for the riots in the AEK game and will not have fans in the stands today. That basically means the home court advantage is gone. Quality only should therefore decide this game. Olympiacos won the first two games by 80 points combined. The played all playoffs games equally, opening them fiercely and taking a huge lead by halftime. They had a 17-point lead by half time against Koroivos home and 29 away, against Aris a 27 and 23-point lead. Sferopoulos is talking about a serious approach today and I expect his team to take a big lead very early on and maybe take a more relax approach later on. Spanoulis and Petway's absences will not be felt today while Aris will probably be even weaker than at Peareus. I don't see how Aris could keep up for a longer period of time and this handicap seems like a great option. Details

    Lokomotiv played a more modest first half in Game 3. They were making quite a few mistakes and leaving a lot of room in defense for the opponents. However, they played their best in the second half and the final point-difference doesn't come as a surprise. Khimki can also be worried about the fact their players were doing well while they had energy but as soon as they ran out of it their game collapsed. I am very skeptic about Claver and Pateev being able to play as well as they have two days ago because they lack quality compared to Lokomotiv's front court and because they are clearly tired, Pateev in particular. Lokomotiv destroyed them by 23 points even though Brown and Hendrix did nothing special, which means they still have room for progress. They seem like a much better-quality and more complete team at the moment. They're on a roll and feel very motivated to get a spot in Euroleague. On the other hand, Khimki seem to have found enough satisfaction in the Europcup trophy. They are without three important players (injuries), while Popovic and Seleketo aren't in form at all. Everything basically comes down to Koponen and Rice. The American seems pretty unmotivated. Lokomotiv were a much better team in the first two games played at Khimki's arena. The circumstances are now in favor of Lokomoitv even more and if something doesn't change drastically, we should see another convincing win for home team, in my opinion by a double-digit point difference.     Rarely did we have such high margin on Strasbourg's home games this season. The margin is the consequence of the home game with Chalon they played a few weeks ago but this is the playoffs and I expect things to be very different. Strasbourg saw how tough Chalon can be on the offensive end and know they need to try and win through good defense today. They went over this margin in only 5 home games this season with their averages home being 137.8 points. The most important part of the season is to start and they cannot afford any slips at this point which is why I'm sure Strasbourg will be very fierce here. They played Nanterre some ten days ago and had the approach as if that was a playoffs game to limit their main rivals to only 49 points. Just a reminder' Nanterre have the most efficient attack in the league...Chalon can be dangerous offense wise but their game usually end at around 150 points. The average is boosted by games with weaker rivals. A glance through the starts reveals that their away games against Le Mans, Nancy, Dijon, Gravelines, Limoges, ASVEL finished at 140 points or less. Those are all teams with pretty good defensive ends. Strasbourg are one step above and given the significance of this game, this margin is 6-7 points too high in my opinion. Details

    It is clear from what Pascual said that he wants to bring the intensity up ahead of the Champions League finish which is taking place next weekend. I think this will be a one-sided win for his team. Barcelona have been crushing opponents during this season even when they were on a much busier schedule. They won all of their game by at least 10 goals and only Logrono and Anaitasuna covered this margin. It all comes down to their approach. If it is even remotely serious in defense, as it should be given what the coach is saying, Barcelona will have a lot of fastbreaks that will only get the goal difference higher. Ademar have the thid worst defense in the league, conceding almost 30 goals on average. Teams much worse than Barcelona scored a lot of goals against them. They conceded 43 to Barca home and I expect something similar today. It's not realistic they will score 37 again, though. They don't have what it takes to stop Barcelona and I think they cannot keep the goal difference under 15 today. Details

    Their head-to-heads record is 3-2 for Aris, but each team won in front of their fans. However, I will put the first two matches aside because after them AEK got better with three to four new players and now they have a lot better team than at the start of the season. If we take a look at only the last three matches, AEK lead wit 2-1: both time the crushed Aris, and one time they had a shot to win. In the first match of the series Mensah-Bonsu played only 10 minutes, Hairston didn't (and probably won't today either), and English and Wilbekin shot a combined number of 3-for-14. Even with such small contribution of four very important players, AEK could have won in the last seconds. Kicking in the second match is no coincidence, although it may be a bit too rough of a result, but AEK are a lot better when teams are on standard level. If you ask me, they're currently above Olympiacos and Panathinaikos. There's no space to make things better, being defeated means the end of the season and I think AEK will confirm their quality today. It's true Aris are tough opponents in front of their fans, the home court is the only thing that supports them. However, it will also be quite a pressure. Besides, AEK has experienced enough players who will know how to handle that. They've shown that in the first match of the series in which they were the better opponents in the last quarter and made up 10 points of difference because of a bad period at the end of the third quarter. Mansah-Bonsu has been getting better and better and he should be at his best level. I believe English and Wilbekin won't be as indisposed as in the first match, and AEK on Saturday showed they have a lot of offense solutions. Besides, they raised their defense in the playoffs. Aris can stand up to them only with their defense, offensively they've struggled with a lot weaker teams, and they also have injury problems. Today they could be without two important players who, combined, scored a total of 30 out of 71 points in the first match of the series and had 14 rebounds. I think AEK will confirm their quality and earn the semi-finals. Details

    This is practically an elimination match in which the defeated will surely not make it to the playoffs. Because of that I expect a big war and this margin is too high. Paris paid a lot of attention to the defense, they showed a reaction in that department, so it's no surprise they left their opponents at 70 or less points. ASVEL's coach Jackson was displeased with the defense in the second half against Le Mans. He's going to look for a reaction and a team who are ready to go to war. Statistically looking, this margin is set well, but in such conditions I think it's a couple of points to high. Head-to-heads of these teams also go in the favor of this bet. Last season they played four matches which stayed at 148 points or less, and the first head-to-head this season ended at 124 points. I wouldn't be surprised by something similar today either. Details

    I was quite surprised with this margin which, if you ask me, is six to seven points too high. This is a consequence of some more efficient matches of both teams during the last week. This especially goes for Limoges, but also the fact that Nancy earned the playoffs. However, there will be no relaxation, Nancy are fifth with their win, and with that they will avoid the strongest trio in the quarter-finals and raise their chances to reach the semi-finals. On the other hand, they can come out eighth, and that's what everyone in the club are trying to avoid. Limoges suffered a new blow on Tuesday, primarily in the defense part and Heve is aware that this is the last chance to reach intensity before the playoffs. I expect an aggressive Limoges who are capable of leaving all of the opponents in the league at 70-75 points. If we look at the statistics, Nancy's matches on average stay beneath 150 points. Limoges's are at 155, primarily because of the numbers in the last couple of weeks. Still, since they want to be aggressive, I think this should remain at 150 points tops. The teams played two head-to-head this season which remained at 131 and 145 points. Last season's were also at 145 and 149. Details

    A low margin, but in my opinion, it has value. There probably isn't another team in Europe that has the width in the power forward position like CSKA. Itoudis can rotate Vorontsevich, Kirilenko, Khryapa, Nichols and Hines in that position. If we look at Hines' average per game, he is on 6.4 in the VTB League, 6.9 in the Euroleague, but these numbers would be smaller if CSKA had this much width from the start of the season. Khryapa missed a number of games because of an injury, Kirilenko joined the team in the second part, he also missed some of the last games, but they are both ready now and I think they will have a very important role in this game. With Vorontsevich and Kaun, I don't see a lot of room for Hines. Hines played 15 minutes on average throughout the season, and I expect to see him in an even more subordinate role today. Olympiacos know him well, they will try to impose their slow pace, which also goes in favor of this bet. Hines scored 12 points in their first head-to-head game, but CSKA played without Kirilenko and Khryapa then, and Kaun played for only 10 minutes. The second match is more relevant for me, in it Kirilenko, Vorontsevich and Kaun played for 20-25 minutes, Khryapa was just coming back from an injury (three minutes), and Hines played nine minutes in these circumstances and hadn't scored from the floor. I expect a similar situation today as well, Hines should have a smaller role and contribute more in the rebounds than in the efficiency. Even when he does play, CSKA have a lot of great shooters in the outside positions (Teodosic, de Colo, Weems...) and I doubt that this will be a game in which a lot of actions will be created for him.     Coach Herve demands his players to do their best in defense and that is the key reason for me to go with this bet. Despite the fact this game is not important for Limoges, everything they have been saying over the past few days suggests Limoges want to keep the atmosphere at the top level ahead of the playoffs. The fact is, Herve wants to keep Boulogne at around 70 points, which means the approach will be at top level here and that means this handicap should be covered easily. Limoges destroyed Bourg away a few days ago, beat them by 32 points and could have gotten the point-difference to 40 had it been necessary. We also need to point out that that game was the last chance for Bourg to save themselves. Boulogne is close to Bourg quality-wise and they're more dangerous when they're allowed to play but much more modest when limited through defense. This game doesn't mean much to them and I think they are a bit overrated because of the last two wins. But they beat Gravelines, who had a horrible shooting efficiency that day and Cholet, who didn't try much. Boulogne combines 30 3s in those two games and I think Limoges will limit them in that segment today, which will make them much less dangerous. The home team have good front court, they will dominate rebounding and should be able to get a lot of free pints through defense. Also, the visitors are still without their top scorer Tucker, and the fact they have a game every three days isn't good either as they rely on only about 8 players. Limoges have more players to count on, which allows them to keep the pace up throughout the game. Out of Boulogne's 14 defeats away this season, 9 were by 15 or more points, three by 14 exactly. I expect Limoges to win this by at least 20 points and I wouldn't be surprised if they crush the opponent like Bourg Saturday. Bologne's under 77.5 is a great option as well. Details

    I think this margin is way too low considering the situation. This match doesn't mean much for either of the teams, and they'll hardly die in the defense. Yesterday's matches (PAOK-Trikala, Kifisia-Panionios) already confirmed that these matches usually end with higher numbers, and I doubt this one will be an exception. Panathinaikos never played under 141 in home matches this season, and I think this one will go over 150. This margin is used mainly because of Apollon and their low numbers, but I still believe this team are worth more, and also, the match against Panionios on Tuesday showed how Apollon should play today. If Panionios scored 84, while it still mattered for Apollon, then Panathinaikos can score close to 90, and that solves all the possible dilemma. In two matches this season, the margin was close to 146, even in the Cup final which mattered much more than this match. This match doesn't mean much to either team because they both changed their roster a lot, but it's worth pointing out that both teams had a similar situation last season, too. They had similar averages then, played an irrelevant match in the last round, and that ended at 174 points. Considering the circumstances, I think this one is more likely to end at 150-160, than it is at 140. Details

    Given thhe circumstances, I think this margin is a few points too high. Let's start with stats. Koroivos are on 142.3 average while the visitors average 147.2 points. Koroivos were in a great chance to reach playoffs but they have been far from the team able to play very productive games all season long. They base their game on defense and given the chance they are being presented with today, I don't think they will play an attractive game. I expect a great fight, especially because Kolossos cannot count on their top player and driving force Waters. Without him, they are not good enough on th offensive end. They reached playoffs on account of good defense and this game means a lot since they can reach spot 6. The first h2h that finished at 159 points isn't a good sign but 92 points were scored in second half only back then. Waters was by far the best scorer with 23 points. Details

    6 or 7 out of 12 teams in the Greek championship have good defense and base their game around that, while Panelefsiniakos and Panionios cannot even be compared to others. Rethymno Trikala, and AEK are by far the fastest teams that base their success on fast transition. Their h2g games finish at 160 or more points as a rule. Trikala vs AEK finished at 170 and 169, and Rethynmo vs AEK at 162 and 159. The first h2h of these teams finished at 164. What is the situation like before this match?? Trikala are under no pressure result-wise and have let the coach and two important players leave. That will make it very difficult for them to stand up to one of the best teams when it comes to rebounding and that should result in even faster pace. Still, I'm not going with total over because they will be without their top scorer today and first choice point guard isn't at his best level either. Their offense efficiency can make this a close match but I expect they will not be able to stand up to Rethymno defense-wise. The visitors are a bit less productive away but that's normal. Aris didn't score over 90 all season long away, and finished with 81 here. PAOK have similar record, having scored over 70 away only to Rethymno. Kolossos went over 80 rarely this season but scored 94 here and Trikala managed to get even Oly into higher numbers. With no pressure on their chest, I don't think Trikala will back down from their style and Rethmyno definitely have a response for that and with the expected rebounding control, I think the visitors will finish with at least 85 points.     This might be the key game of the season for both teams. Who ever loses will be left with very little chance of reaching playoffs and the stakes are extremely high. The defense has been a much better segment at Paris lately. It is what allowed them to record good results in March, when they limited Turow, Banvit, and Limoges to 70 or less points home. Beugnot pointed our after the defeat to Orthez that they had the same goal in that game, which they reached, but failed on the offensive end. It's no surprise since they lost one of the two key players Schib and their game suffers for it. I have no doubt they will rely on defense again today to try and limit the opponents to around 70 points. They have only one over at this margin in the last 9 games, that bad performances against Cholet that served them as warning. Reims are more offense oriented but as the season goes on, they are getting more disciplined and playing less productive games. They have 2 overs in the last 8 games - against Chalon (46 points in the last quarter and over 50% shooting from the floor in the game for both teams) and against Nanterre, who scored 61 point by half time and the game fell apart later on. The rest of the games paint a much more accurate picture and Reims finished well under this margin in normal circumstances. Today's game is very important, Antic say they need to play for the playoffs and I expect extra intensity. Stats-wise, Paris are at 152.1 point in the championship, Reims at 157.5 (without overtime) and the margin is too high according to that. I think it should be 4-5 points lower and this bet has value in my opinion. Details

    If we take a look at Gravelines' numbers this bet doesn't make sense at first. They had five overs at this margin in 30 games, averaging 74.4 points. We need to point out that Gravelines are getting better in offense after recording 9 defeats in 10 games mid-season. That came as a consequence of some acquisitions and them fitting in the team nicely. The games against Strasbourga and Dijon that finished well under won't stop me since those were games totally different to this one both in importance and especially in style. The 87 point they scored to Paris, 90 to Cholet and 83 to Limoges are much more important to me.

    On the other hand, the style and the situation the visitors are in make this a great bet. They concede 88.8 points on average in the championship , which far more than any other team. The numbers are even higher away as they concede staggering 92.3 points per game. Boulogne have by far the worst defense in Pro A, which is what got them into the situation. They couldn't handle even teams much worst than Gravelines and have already turned to the next season. You can only imagine what that means for their game. I expect a relaxed approach, which means they might end up scoring some tough shots on the offensive end. The defense, on the other hand, will not be able to stop the home team and that is why this bet it better than handicap for me. Also, the game should be settled early on, which should result in an eve more efficient finish. Details

UNICS has many turnovers on Saturday, allowing the opponent to score many free points but they couldn't get over this margin anyway. UNICS know they need to play good zone defense and I expect that end of the floor dominate on both teams today. If Lokomotiv win, I expected to stay at lower productivity just like in similar games in Eurpcup (Valencia 72-60, Brose 70-53). UNICS limited top European teams to 75 in Madrid and Moscow, this is basically the key game and if they managed to bring the number of turnovers down, I think Lokomotiv won't finish with more than 70-75 points.     The first game of this semi-final series went into overtime and I think that is the reason we have such a low margin, unrealistically low in my opinion. However, that first game was marked by disastrous shot percentages of both teams, Riga played well below their abilities, especially in the fourth quarter in which they scored only eight points. At the end they managed to win and I think it will be much easier for them to play today. In a regular season game, Riga won here by eight points, but they were focused on the VTB League then, and without their best player Robinson, as well as C. J. Harris, who came to the club later. The margin was higher by three points, and I think that it should be around 7-8 points today as well. Riga were close to the VTB League play-off, which is a confirmation of their quality, but they are eliminated now and maximally focused on the national championship. The first game was the best warning and I think they will go into this game maximally prepared. Liepajas are a decent team for Latvia's notions, but nothing more than that. They have on the roster two Lithuanian players and a modest American, who scores 8.4 points on average with 32% of shot in a prettly weak league. Riga's foreigneirs have more quality, and especially the domestic players, since anyone who is worth anthing is playing in Riga or Ventspils. In my opinion, the quality difference is big and if Riga won the first game by 8 points with their focus on other games and with a weakened roster, I expect them on at least ten point difference, but I wouldn't be surprised by a more convincing win. The battle starts today and both coaches know that there's no room for mistakes.     Torgovanov definitely wants to start off with a win but I don't think that will happen. The Russians are without their top players (Igropulo, Gorbok, Atman, Zitnjikov is questionable) and that will cause struggle in the back line. Torgovanov changed the list compared to WC to leave only 6 players who were in Qatar on it. That means that collaboration between players might be a problem on the floor. But, most importantly, Russia are nowhere near Hungary quality-wise. The visitors are here with almost all their top players and with a clear goal. They want to win both games to secure the top spot in the group. Granted, they did have very little time to prepare but these players know and work with each other very well since the majority come from Veszprem and Szeged. I think there will be no problems regarding that. Russia will probably not be able to deal with the Hungarian defense - what Torgovanov has is not good enough and this should be a sure win for Hungariy unless they do horribly for some reason.     Even though it is the finale, this is a match without a lot of suspense result-wise. Khimki came to a step away from the trophy with a convincing win on Friday and I think it would take a miracle for Gran Canaria to even have a chance to make a turnaround. I expect that we will watch a more careful first half, which should resolve all doubts, and then a more relaxed game in the second half. Both teams have a lot of offensive potential, they like attractive basketball, which can be seen from their numbers in this competition.
