    Although at first this seems like a low margin, I think it's still to high and that it should be around 140 points. Panathinaikos are a lot firmer in away games than at home, and today they are going to face a team who, next to Olympiacos, rely the most on defense in the entire league. If we look at the statistical averages of both of them this season, the margin was set right, but we need to dissect certain matches, especially with Panathinaikos who often easily beat their opponents. Ivanovic's team had a couple of away matches this season against conceptually similar teams, and they mostly stayed below this margin (PAOK 125 and 139 points, Kifsia 138, AEK 132, Koroivos 131). The only exception is the derby in Piraeus which ended at 156 points. If we mention Euroleague, we can see that PAO were in Milan at 130, in Berlin at 134, in Belgrade at 137 points. My first thought was to play Panathinaikos's team under, but with Thomas's injury I think Aris will have a lot of problems in the offense. Their results in home matches speak volumes: they went over 140 against faster teams; the exception was the match against Kifsia which was played in an empty hall. The audience will today be Aris's huge support and with Thomas, and especially without him, I expect Aris to completely tighten the defenses, and in such a match they will look for their chance. This is an important match for both of them, offensively they were very modest in similar matches and I expect this to end at 130-140 points, rather than going towards 150. Details

    The difference in quality between these two teams is huge, as the table suggests. Olympiacos are getting ready for the most important part of the season, which will start with the big derby match in Athens on Saturday and continue with Euroleague Final Four. The margin is set as if this was round 10 but Panonios are set for relegation for a long time now and things only got worse with money problems they've been having, which saw their players go on without getting their paychecks for months now. There was some talk about strike but they decided to finish the season in the end. What Xanthopoulos said suggests they cannot wait for everything to end and I think they will not do well today. They are on a 12-game losing run and have mostly covered this margin away but the one time they didn't might be the most important one for me. It is, of course, the away game with Panathinaikos when they lost by 31 point. They lost to the same team home by 33 point after the score being tied at half time. They lost by 17 home in the first head-to-head with Olympiacos only because they played good defense that limited Oly to 73 points. The kind of motivation they have now cannot result in something like that. Olympiacos will be dominant in rebounding, will probably have a lot of chance for free points from couter-attacks and will only increase the point difference as the game advances. I don't think the visitors can stay under 25-30 points short here. Details

    Out of the 29 matches so far, Jenisej only owonce left Kalev in Estonia (111-66) under this margin. In the other 28 meetings they conceded at least 77 points, quite above this margin. At home they conceded points over this margin in all 14 matches; on average 87.1 points per match. That's no coincidence, but it's a consequence of the offensively oriented Siberian team. In a match which has no result significance it will be a bit strange to expect Jenisej to slow down their pace and hold their defense together; they'll probably offer a very attractive match for their fans at the end of the week. Arrivals of Glazunov and Gudumak, as well as employing bench players are resulting in a better game. What's worth to point out is that the team are very fast, often with 65 - 70 shots from the floor. Against teams similar to Jenisej (Astani and Nizhny 88, Avtodor 80, Zenit 84 points), even such a Samara scored well over this margin. In such circumstances I expect Samara to end up at 80 or more points. Details

    The title of the preview says it all, this is a result-wise irrelevant clash between the two most efficient teams of the competiton and there should be no lack of points. We talked a lot about Avtodor during the season, they are playing the fastest basketball of the league with very short offenses. Even when the games were far more important, they stuck to their game style and it is hard to expect they would change anything in a result-wise unimportant game. On the other side, after two difficult, agonizing struggles in Athens, I expect that Itoudis will give his players some freedom and that we will watch another atractive game by the Moscow team. In seven of their last 11 games, CSKA scored over 100 points, and I believe that they will do the same today against a team that doesn't care much for the defense. Anyway, they scored 93 and 100 points on home court against Panathinaikos. It doesn't matter how many rotations Itoudis will make, CSKA have two equaly good lineups and whoever plays, it won't be felt. On the other side, Rodionov announced that he might give younger Russian players more playtime and that is also in favour of this bet. Another good bet is the total over, but I don't want to depend on points and Avtodor's possible rotations. I expect CSKA over 100, even near 110 points and considering the nature of the game, this bet has a value, regardles of the high margin. Details

    I don't think Ivanovic will make the mistake of engaging into outrunning with CSKA after the outcome of the first two games. Panathinaikos will probably try and slow down the game through tough defense like against Real in order to try and beat the objectively tougher opponent. Ivanovic and players were very clear about the necessity to play tougher, more aggressive defense, as well as bringing the number of mistakes down. That allowed CSKA to score a lot of free points. As for Panathinaikos' home games in Euroleague, those crucial ones almost always finished with small number of points (Žalgiris 135, Zvezda 143, Real 154, Alba 134). They went over that crazy night which finished with 18 three points at season opening with Fener, against offense-oriented Turow and Bayern and in the big over over Galatasaray (52 points in the last quarter). Exceptions are games against Barcelona and Maccabi, which finished at 158 and 159 points after nerve-wrecking finishes.

    On the other hand and many time this season, CSKA's brilliant offense was often controlling the games. But everything there starts with tough defense that is getting better as the season advances. Panathinaikos would have been limited to around 60 and 70 points in Moscow if CSKA kept the level up until the end. I don't expect them to crush this oppoennt like that today, nor I expect CSKA to finish at over 90 points. I expect a tougher game in which the home team will stay close up until the very end. CSKA are tougher away and had a few of away matches like those in Top 16. CSKA stayed under this margin against offense-oriented Kutxa (155 points), with the only exception being the Olympiacos game, which finished at 160 points. They went over in unimportant games or when playing with no pressure. In VTB league, CSKA stayed under 154 and 148 points in tough away games against Lokomotiv and UNICS. Also, in tough games from Euroleague first stage finished at 151 after overtime (in Malaga) and 145 in Tel Aviv. We need to add that they were without Teodosic back then though. I don't see this as a one-sided win or a game with such efficiency like in the second game (CSKA at 61% from the floor), I expect this to finish with 150 or less points. Details

    It's true Kifisia's form is far from ideal in the last months, but the odds and the margin are completely missed here, I think. They're almost identical to those when Oly and PAO played here, and PAOK are far worse than those two. Pyrrhic team were even beat here with a minimal difference, and the Athenians only celebrated in the final moments. Kifisia only lost two games with a difference bigger than this one, 11 and 14, but they had injury issues then, especially Liakopoulos who means a lot to the team. With him back, Kifisia beat Trikala, controlled Rethymno for most of the game. Besides, in the second preparatory match in the away game against strong AEK, they were beat 84-76, and AEK are stronger than PAOK right now. Kifisia improved their game a lot this season, new players blended in, and I expect them to give good resistance here. They're fighting for the playoff, and this match is very important.
    On the other hand, PAOK only won one away game this season with a difference bigger than this margin, the last one against Panelefsiniakos, who are at the bottom of the league table. They beat Rethymno by 8, and everyone else with under four, or they lost. They had problems against everyone, and rarely went over 70 (only twice in 11 away duels). If they, by some miracle, win today, it'll be after tight final moments. They beat Kifisia at home by 11, but it'll be much harder here. It's hard to win with a double digit difference in the Greek championship as it is, even when the differences between the teams are much bigger than between these two. I think the margin was missed by at least 4-5 points, and I think this bet has a great value. Details

    What Pascual said describes best what we should see today. Barcelona's home Euroleague games mostly finished under this margin this season but things should be very different today. The stakes are extremely high, it's the first game of the QF series and they are set to meet the top Euroleague defense today. Olympiacos are even more focused on defense away, limiting the mighty CSKA to only 76 points recently. They will use the same strategy today. With or without Spanouis, I expect them to struggle against Barcelona, who have two great defense players Oleson and Satoranski. I think this is the game in which both teams will struggle to go over 75 points. It's the start of the series and this should turn into the war of defensive ends. Details

    I think these odds are mostly a consequence of an opinion that Khimki don't need to win, and that Nizhny need one. However, Novgorod practically lost all chances for the Top Four, and for the fifth place they need a single win. Until the end they're up for away games against Nymbruk and Jenisej, and it's hard to expect that they won't win. On the other hand, Khimki are in an identical position; they also need one win for the second place, and at the end of the month they're up for final clashes in the Eurocup and Kurtinaitis wants to win today. That would enable them to prepare for the first match and I expect them to have full motive for today's match. Besides, Khimki won't allow themselves another bad match in front of their fans like it happened against Jenisej, which was a consequence of a very narrow rotation. Kurtinaitis was especially disappointed with the end of the match, but today he will have Koponen and Davis available, who are next to ice among the most important players this season. Popovic's and Honeycutt's absences won't be so important because they've been struggling with injuries for a long time and Khimki are used to play without them. And lastly, they will have enough motives against Nizhny, especially after last season. As for the away team, Rochestie's absence is worth more than everyone else together. Zenit outplayed them the other day in Novgorod because of his absence. Khimki are stronger than Zenit, especially in front of their fans. This margin is too low if you ask me, and I expect the hosts to win with double digits. Details

    Today we'll witness in Nancy the clash of best defenses of the league and I think this limit is at least three or four points too high. Nancy have the fourth best defense with 73.5 points conceded, although the average is misleading a bit because matches at 170+ points against Boulogne, Rouen, Cholete and other offensive teams raise it. However, if we take a look at the matches against tougher defenses, we'll see that Nancy was left at 137 and 147 points against Dijon, 138 and 136 against ASVEL, 137 and 128 against Gravelines, 141 and 138 against Paris, 131 and 145 against Limoges, and 145 and 126 against Le Mans. Such a row is no accidence and the first head-to-head against Strasbourg at 154 points is an exception. With Clark's return Nancy gain in the offensive part, but we're still talking about a team who rely on the defense, especially in home matches, lef by Falker and Pietrus. Today they're hosting their huge rivals, leaders who will be hard to conquer in an efficient match, and this could turn into a real war.
    An average of 65.6 conceded points on average speaks enough of Strasbourg. Nancy are very similar to Dijon. This season Strasbourg went aganst them on 119, 144, 132 (in regular time) and 110 points. With other firm teams they usually went under that margin. I think this will be a match in which both teams will hardly reach 75 points; I expect lower numbers. Details

    The decision to leave two top players in Novgorod makes it very clear what Bagatski's priority is at the moment. That's only logical because the game with Zenit will probably be the key one in the race for home court advantage in VTB league QFs. Since they meet Zenit in only two days, I wouldn't be surprised if Parahouski and Thompkins spend less time in the game today. Oly are still without Spanoulis but they already got used to playing without him. Olypmiacos are safe in spot three and this game is not relevant to their either. That is the only reason I'm going with smaller stakes even though I'm sure they'll take this game much more seriously. The coach said it's like playoffs for them and he will not allow his players to take it lightly. This is the last check they'll have before the clashed with Barcelona and finally, they are playing home, which is why they want to win. Even if the coach starts making changes, he's got 10 equality good players to count on, which is not the case at Nizhny. Without two top players who combine 33 points on average Nizhny's game loses quality. They will not be able to stand to Oly like that. Oly are tough enough to stand up even to those top players in the key. I'm going with smaller stake only because this is an insignificant game result-wise even though I'm pretty sure Oly will take it very seriously to record a double-digit win. Details

    With the season drawing longer, Itoudis is relying more and more on defense. One can tell that from recent games, as the only game of their last 6 that went over the margin (82) was at Nogorod, where they almost limited Nizhny to under, after 55 in the first half. This might not be a game of crucial importance, but the leader of the Moscow team wants the winning streak to continue and for the team to stay top ranked. Of their 25 away matches this season, CSKA allowed the opponents to score above this margin in only five: the one at Novgorod I mentioned earlier, in very tough games against Lokomotiv, Himki and Olympiacos, and a somewhat mroe relaxed match against Oktjabr.In all others they went above 80, limiting much better teams than Milan.The Italians had 4 overs out of 11 home home games at 80 points, but they couldn't score more than 74 against quality defenses such as Fener, Oly, Efes, Panthinaikos and Barcelona. The margin seems too high tonight as well, as CSKA are fully motivated and going for the win. Details

    I'm not counting on any of the three questionable players being there for Lokomotiv while writing this. Them being on the team would only help this tip a lot. Even without those three, I think Lokomotiv are better than the Finish team. They beat Astana by 26, Zenit by 22 without them. Their motivation should run high after the defeat in Finland. Lokomotiv are very keen to do well after being knocked out of Eurocup and VTB league is their main priority now. They played the last game a week ago home and meet the feeble Samara in the next one. They are in the race for spot three and cannot afford any slips.

    Bisons, on the other hand, have a game every two days and that's tough to handle, especially with the choice of players they have. They had to take a 2500 km trip to Krasnodar after playing both on Wednesday and Friday. Johnson should be back today but one should not expect miracles, especially since they're about to face one of the top European defenses. The Bisons will have 7-8 players they can rely on, this is their second to last game in VTB League and they are already probably thinking about the Finnish championship tasks they have coming next. They are not good enough in the paint to take advantage of Lokomotiv's absences. On the contrary, they are one of the worst teams in the competition when it comes to the physical aspect of the game. They had 15-20 rebounds less than their opponents Avtodor and Minks in the previous games. They do much better home, while losing by more than this margin away. Lokomotiv have what it takes to beat the opponents when on a roll and I think they will win convincingly once again today. Details

    There's always a special charm in Baltic derby, but unlike others, this one means a lot to both teams because they're fighting for the playoff. Just looking at the league table shows you that this might be the match that decides who's the last one to join the playoff. Just those arguments make us sure this will be a tough and aggressive match. Statistically speaking, the margin is a few points too high, because Riga have 156.8 points in the competition, Kalev 161.2. Looking at their home and away matches separately, those numbers work for this bet even more. One especially impressive info is that Riga never went over 164 points in any of the 11 home matches they played. They hosted best offensive teams of the league here (CSKA, Khimki, Nizhny), and all those matches ended at 160 or under. In a match this important, I doubt we'll be seeing an offensive rhapsody. Riga conceded 102 in Novgorod on Monday, and Mazurs definitely insisted on the defense on practices this week. Warraq confirmed it, and accentuated that segment in the past few weeks. He also said that his team have to be more aggressive defensively if they want to get a chance in this match. All in all, many arguments work in favor of this bet, and the only one that's not is that the first match between the two ended at 173. Still, the stakes are much bigger today, the biggest possible, and I think they'll overcome the aggressiveness, which means this match will end far under 160 points. Details

They don't have the offensive power to stand up to CSKA and since the end of regular season doens't mean much to them, I expect them to go with the faster pace. CSKA average between 90-100 points in VTB league but they are not focused and tough on the defensive end like in Europe. They conceded at least 78 points in the last 4 games, finishing all 4 well over this margin. I expect this game to be similar to the one they played with Riga, Enisej, and Oktyabr, teams similar to Nymbruk in terms of quality. CSKA can score 100 points here and since they play the key Euroleague game in a few days, I don't think they will put special effort to defending, which should result in some 75-80 points for Nymbruk. CSKA's win should never come in question, which should only result in more efficient game in the finish. Details

    Nizhny went well over this margin home with Europe's top defenses (Oly, CSKA, Efes). They managed to score 55 against CSKA by halftime, but CSKA kicked it up a notch in the second half. Riga will, however, be a whole different story. Nizhny are finally complete, Riga could be as well as Robinson is set to make a comeback after a long time. That is only an extra reason for this bet, but I'm at this moment not counting Robinson in. Riga prefer fast-paced, offense-oriented basketball too, with a lot of three-point shots and I think this game is more likely to end at 170-180 than under 160 points. Details

    There are a few reasons for this bet. The first, statistics. Nancy are at 149.6 points (19 unders, 6 overs) in the championship, Chalon at 150.4 points (16 unders, 9 overs). Their first duel ended at 145. This match is really important for both teams because of the playoffs. They're direct rivals.
    Also, the circumstances work for this bet. Nancy will play without their first point guard Clark (15.8 points and 3.4 assists), who took the lead role after coming from Nanterre, and he lead almost all the action. Nancy are in a similar situation they've been in in the last two duels of 2014, when they were without Adams, and Clark still didn't have the right to play. The young Sene will take a huge responsibility again, and he's not ready to take that burden offensively to the fullest. Nancy really focused on the defense in those matches, and won at 137 and 133. The difference is that they had Gladyr in those matches (16 points in both), and he should be out today. His substitute is not up to that level. With a limited number of offensive solutions, Nancy should rely on the defense even more, which is lead by Falker and Pietrus. Chalon are also having problems - their first scorer Rich is questionable, as is the important card of the paint, Dove (12.2 points and 8.2 rebounds). The guests have been more efficient in the duels in the last weeks, but with these different circumstances, I expect a much bigger fight. A defeat would lead Chalon in a very tough situation, but a win would lead them closer to Nancy, with 2-0 in the duels played between the two. Details

    Khimki are excellent in home matches this season. Of course, if we don't count the Russian Cup in which only Russian players are allowed to perform. In front of their fans they crushed mighty teams: UNICS, Lokomotiv and CSKA. In only three matches they didn't cover this handicap. After last season's experiences, Khimki are even more hungry for trophies this season and today they will have a special motive against a team who threw them out of this competition last year. However, Khimki beat them at home with 15, considering that it was even 21 in the minute before the last. This season Khimki are even stronger, more played in, while Valenica are weaker if you ask me. Those weaknesses showed in away matches, and although it's the end of Match, Valenica have no wins outside of their home court, except for the one against Bayern. They've already been to Russia this season, lost with -12 against Lokomotiv. Khimki are at least equally good, they play better in front of their fans, and in this match they don't have the right to fail. In the first match about a week ago they dominated, it should've been with a double-digit difference, but they didn't find their way around Valencia's zone defense. Today there won't be such tactical surprises and quality differences will be visible. Besides, Valencia are without Van Rossom, which is a huge minus for them. This margin doesn't allow any kind of relaxation in the finish, and I expect Khimki's double-digit win. Details

    At first sight it seems like an extremely high margin, but Avtodor this season has a very fast, NBA game style. President Rodionov announced that before the season started. In two matches in VTB league under his leadership, Avtodor scored 119 in an away match in Minsk, and 101 in Nymburk a couple of days ago, although they were far from their game in the first half, which was a consequence of a longer break. However, they returned to their gamestyle, with a total of 119 points (60-59 for Nymburk). Avtodor are, on average, at 92.0 points in VTB League, in four matches they already scored 100, and I think they will continue that today. The Bisons can say goodbye to the playoffs when they were defeated in Minsk, and they will also arrive quite relaxed. The injuries took their toll, it was impossible to keep up with playing every two days with only seven players in the team. The main goal is to avoid new injuries, because the important part of the Finnish championship is yet to come, and taught by Minks, they also want to avoid fouls. That should result in a more relaxed defense which will come in handy for Avtodor, and I think the Bisons will concede over 100 points. In the first head-to-head they conceded 89 on their home court, and they conceded well over 90 in the home championship. I expect a very attractive match in which the Bisons will be able to cope if they take the game to higher numbers, but defensively they will hardly limit the home team at 90 or less points. Details

    Both teams need this win in their bid to reach playoffs, Oktyabr especially, as a loss here would keep them far away from reaching the goal. The game in Minsk was a great warning and I think we'll see a much better and tougher Oktyabr. They are more disciplined and have a different philosophy since Bauermann took over. I think they are much better than the Estonian team and deserve to make it into playoffs. The team from Volgograd underwent many changes in 2015, which resulted in a decline. They got rid of some players who didn't fit into Bauremann's concept and acquired some new ones. Kalev is beyond any doubt the most pleasant surprise of the season. They were expected to be bottom table at season's end but instead fight for the playoffs. I think they don't have enough quality for the playoffs. They have 3 overs in 13 home games, with their games against direct rivals finishing as unders Samara 75, Astana 63, Enisej 66, Nymburk 77, Bisons 70 in regulation time, with Riga 88 as the only exception). They scored 50 against Lokomotiv in the second half when everything was settled already and beat the fatigued Nizhny in a brilliantly productive game. This will be a whole different story, they will face a good defense and each point will matter here. The total under is a good choice as well, but I think Oktyabr are a better team, capable of scoring well over 80 points against any opponent. They will be extra motivated after the failure in Minsk and I think Kalev will have a very tough time reaching 80 or more points. Details

    UNICS won all three head-to-heads so far this season, but the circumstances are a lot more different now. Score-wise this match is a lot more important for Zenit who are fighting for the third place at the end of the regular part. UNICS will almost certainly be number six, and Zenit would be a better choice in the quarter-finals that hizny, and far better than Lokomotiv... However, if we put that aside, UNICS are already thinking about the rematch against Lokomotiv in three days which is a lot more important than today's in St. Petersburg. They have a very though task on Wednesday, but they don't plan to surrender and it's going to be interesting to see their approach in today's match. Last weekend they were in a similar situation (with Langford), they were declassed in Astana (67-87). Zenit are an even stronger team and they won't have it easy. Besides, they won't be able to count on their best shot Langford who recently scored 24 and 25 points against Zenit in the Eurocup. His absence will be hard to fill in. Zenit are fully focused on this match, they're willing to win, and Karasev himself pointed out that the mood in the team is great. The team is practically complete and I think they're the bigger favorites in this match than the odds suggest.
