    I had a couple of ideas for this one; a total under, a host team under and a value lies in each bet. Still, I respect Real's transition and quality and the possibility for the match to turn into a show in the end. Under of the first half-time is by far the best option, I expect that both teams will start with maximum concentration and under those circumstances I hardly see 80 points in the first 20 minutes. UNICS have a team full of great individuals who go in both directions, but so far they didn't seem like a team. Pasutin put extra attention into the defense since the start and UNICS could become a team who will rarely receive over 80 points. The away coach is well-aware of Real's quality, he wants the game to be positional, to play long and smart offenses in order to keep Real's counterattack points to the minimum. Laso also appreciates the Kazan team's quality and I expect Real will crunch themselves in the defense in order to have an easier job for the rest of the match. This bet is a consequence of Real's matches against opponents who rushed into the game (Sassari, Niznij), but UNICS won't fall for that. The rest of the Real's four matches in the Euroleague came to 151 points or less, and on half-time it was 76 or less, and I expect a similar scenario today. As somewhat of a danger I see the possible +15 prior to the finale, which could crush the bet. However, considering both coaches' statements, I expect a careful start from both sides. If UNICS prove to be a tough ut to crack, I expect a similar show as Real's home match against Zalgiris (67 points), and even if Real step up, the most I expect is 45-30, in any case - an under.     Since Griscuk joined the team, Minska are more compact, better in defense and much closer to performances from early this season. That was not very clear in the game with Enisej, because the opponents set up a faster pace home. The in the Czech Republic was a glimpse of what Minsk should be like. It ended with 144 points, despite Usak being even more defense-oriented than Nyburk. With Bulkaz back in charge, Usak went over 154 points (last weekend against Selcuk). Bulkaz was furious about the defense performance which should result in much more focus today. This is a very important game for Usak since a defeat would get them far from the next stage. For Minks, this is a matter of life and death. Their first head-to-head in Turkey ended with 137 goals, when Minks were still lead by Krivonos. That was their least productive game so far. Minks are usually tougher home and I expect this to finish under 150 points. Details

    The odds at Cholet are dropping, but I don't really understand why. Both teams are of similar quality, even though I value Chalon higher now that they have this defense. Forget the earlier games, Chalon's performances since the Bourg game are the measure of how good they are. They won three out of five games, covering this handicap in both defeats (Boulogne, Gravelines), while recording wins in tough away games in Villerbaune and Paris and beating Nancy home. All opponents but Boulogne were tough, much tougher than Cholet. Chalon did horrible offense against Gravelines, which didn't stop they from staying very close up until the very end. They probably won't have that poor offense performance again, especially because the now have C.J. Wallace back on the team. Cholet are on a 4-4 record after 8 rounds, but their only valuable win was the one over Le Mans, which was by far their best performance this season. Boulogne were having a horrible week when Choled scored 115 in their h2h game, Dijon struggled with injuries, which Cholet took advantage of, while Gravelines had a 7-point lead with three minutes on the clock to go on and not score again. Cholet scored in the last attack to win. The teams are changing, but we should note that Cholet covered this margin in their last five seasons h2h games only once, over three years back. The final point difference was 8. They played three games last year, one of their in this very arena and Chalon won convincingly. I think the visitors are more than capable of winning this. Cholet might have the upper hand, given the home arena, but not more than -2.5 points. Besides, Cholet are not a team like Dijon, Orleans or others - the fact they're playing home doesn't help much. This margin is set too high. Even if Cholet manage to win, I expect a point difference of one or two. Details

    CSKA played seven games in the VTB league, and stayed under this margin in every one of the first half-times ((Bisons 78, Lokomotiv 71, Enisej 71, Himki 72, Oktjabr 60, Samara 74, Riga 65).The Muscovites use the same recipe, pressure in the defense in the first part, solve the winner, and play relaxed in the rest of the game. Today, Teodosić is missing, which means loss in the offensive, but win in the defensive part. Alba were defeated a few days ago in a game with 160 points total, but only 72 (48-24) in the first part. This game is similar to the one against Oktjabr, similar circumstances, but earlier time slot. Then, the first quarter ended 12-9. Last season, CSKA and Astana also played in similar conditions, ended it 72-54 on this court. It's true that Itoudis allowed the team to play more freely, but he's aware Astana can be dangerous. Besides, Teodosić isn't here, and Jackson isn't that much of an offensive character. Both teams lack key offensive links, and I expect a firmer game at the beginning, at least, especially on the Moscow's side, who can easily limit Astana to about 30 points, which should suffice. If CSKA create an expected difference till the half-time, the game should be more relaxed in the rest, so a total under isn't an option after all. Details

    Panionios have six rounds with no win, but they are nothing like they were at the season beginning. They were almoste eliminated from the league, and were two months behind other teams. Their last games were actually a sort of pre-season, serving to make the team a team. They changed a few coaches since the season started, but things got stabilized when Alesandris came. They're still bringing new players, but have a respectable lineup able to take up any competitors even now. The last weeks showed it, Panionios almost defeated PAOK, and they didn't have Coleman then. Last week, he controlled three quarters of the game against Dramas. They lost int he last period for the lack of strength and also some questionable umpire's decisions. This game is almost like finals to them because it's the easiest game they have left until the end of the first part of the championship. The following are a home game against the strong Aris, then PAO and Oly, so if they lose this one, they might be eliminated because of the potential 0-10. I believe all of this, and the fans, will motivate the team to play it right.
    Koroivos started their first season in the elite great, and can be more relaxed today because they have 0-3. However, those were all home wins, and they were behind before the last periods against Dramas and Aris. It was fans that helped them turn those games around and win, and today, they won't be able to count on their support. They lost all away games. The home team will be on their max today, and I don't think Koroivos will be able to handle that. Details

    I think this will be a tough game in which Limoges stand a chance. The French league defending champions conceded more points than this margin only against CSKA, limiting the opponents to 67 or less in other games. They are tough and aggressive in their packed home arena and opponents are having a hard time dealing with that. Winning at Beublanc is not easy, with CSKA becoming aware of it last week, as they lagged 12 points behind at half time. Teodosic and others had to bring their game to top level in order to win in France, having done the last period better (27-5). Maccabi are not at CSKA 's level. When it comes to Euroleague, they went over in Moscow (scored 80 points, the game was settled very early on and Maccabi scored 26 points in the last quarter) and in Berlin as they scored 84 points (field goal efficiency of 58%). I don't think Maccabi will be at that level now after their domestic league games with tougher opponents ending well in unders (Hapoel Jeruzalem 63, Hapoel Tel Aviv 58). They managed to win in Malaga last week despite scoring only 70 points. If they will be successful today, the game has to be tough. This is a crucial meeting for Limoges, with the possible defeat significantly diminishing their chances of Top 16. They will definitely do their best. Details

    The difference in quality is simply too great. Biella are after all a second division team that belong somewhere mid-table (4-4). They played run'and'gun teams the first few rounds and even managed to record one win. Le Mans are much more powerful physically and Biella won't be able to count on 90 points, while at the same time struggling to control Le Mans' offense. The busy schedule that is the result of playing two competitions is putting more strain on the team each next game. They lost to mediocre Mantova three days ago by 10 points, which could have ended worse since they were 28 points down after three quarters. Le Mans are much better than Mantova and Biella will have a lot of trouble dealing with their tough defense. Also, Biella have a lot of 20-year-olds on the team, and only two players over 200 cm (no one taller than 204). Le Mans have more experience, they're psychically dominant and have Beaubois to count on again. They should not lack motivation to beat Biella today since this is their chance to get extremely close to securing Eurochallenge second round. That is the goal so that they can shift their focus to championship and Leader's Cup final stage as soon as possible. Details

    Handicap is a great option as well, but there's always the possibility the favorites will release the grip in the end, which makes the away team over the best option. As mentioned before, CSKA have been playing much more freely since Itoudis took over. The whole team is better, Teodosic especially. CSKA played only 4 games under this margin - the derby matches with Himki and Lokomotiv, against Cedevita's good-qulaity defense and against Oktjabre, in a game that was scheduled in the morning, affecting CSKA's efficiency. This should be a game much different from those. Moscow-based team are a great favorite and should be able to settle this before the finish. CSKA scored 84 against the disciplined Alba in Berlin, against Limoges 86 on Friday (Limoges never conceded over 67 away this season)...All the faster paced teams like Unicaja, Maccabi, Enisej, Bisons couldn't limit them under 90. I think Riga are in the same category.

    Riga try to play faster-pace game, knowing that they wouldn't stand a chance against tough defense (that CSKA are) otherwise. The Latvians will rely on fast transition to try and win as many points easily. They are not good defense-wise, allowing ailing Olimpija to score 83 points in Wednesday, with field goal efficiency of 41%. Besides, Riga struggle with rebounding, Fall won't be able to deal with Kaun and others, which will give CSKA a lot of new attempts. This should be a faster-pace game the visitors will dominate. I don't think Riga will be able to limit Moscow under this margin. Itoudis was very careful about this game and I expect CSKA at 85-90 at least, maybe even more. Germania offer the same margin, the other bookmakers a point higher, which is also a good choice. Details

    On Wednesday I picked under for this margin with Enisey and Ushak, it ended at 154. Last year Enisey were an extremely offense-focused team, but this year they're stronger in a positional game. Centers Kikanović and Perović should dominate Minsk's inner lineup, and playing on big guys slows down any game. In the ten preseason matches Enisey played, they went over only against Olimpia. Of the official matches, the only ones over were against teams with quick transition (Lokomotiv, CSKA, Bisons, Šiauliai). They have a 1-4 score in the VTB league, this is important for them.
    It's even more important for Minsk, as the Russian champion cannot find a win anywhere, but they're definitely better than results suggest. Krivonos and his players did not get along, Griščuk arriving should mean more effort on defense. Minsk have a good roster that should not allow 90 points per game. The change should be for the better, and Girščuk confirmed that defense will be the foundation of their success. The margin is the result of several Minsk games, but is not realistic. I pushed under in some of their matches so far, and it mostly went through (Samara, Riga, Ušak, Zenit). They never went over 160 in their eight preseason matches, and regardless of how poor their defense is, in four of the eight official matches they stayed way below the margin. Overs were against Šiauliai, Bisons, and Saratov, all very quick teams who ignore defense, and against Himki, a strong and quick offensive team who demolished Minsk in their starting match of the season. Today I expect Minsk to react. The game is important to Enisey too, and they're able to limit Minsk to under 70. Details

    ASVEL's fall in the last weeks is incredible, but I really believe that series will end now. Parker fired the coach, criticized the players and said this can't go on. He said he's pressuring them because he can't waste any more time. They have to win this, Leader's Cup is getting further away, and even the playoffs could become questionable. I expect them to react today, because they played a lot better than the four defeats would suggest. ASVEL had a double-digit advantage against Rouen and Paris by the end of the third period, even controlled the game against Oostende, and if the team didn't lack self-confidence, they'd won all three. Gran Canaria were stronger, but they're strong in general. I expect ASVEL to show their frustration today, they'll be really eager after everything that's happened this week. Boulogne could react good after two disastrous performances, but the problems are deeper with them. They lack desire to play a good defense, and they conceded 231 points in 80 minutes of playing. Whether Castano managed to fix anything this week remains to be seen, but even if he boosted his team's morale, this is a game that doesn't depend on them. ASVEL are untouchable when they're on the right level. Even when they had much better defensive performances, they lost at home against weaker teams. Gravelines celebrated by 15, Orleans by 6, Reims by 4 points difference. Boulogne defeated only Chalon who had a disastrous offensive night. It's questionable what their engagement will be like today, but if it is like it was in the last games, ASVEL will celebrate by 20. If they play well, maybe close to 10. It's simple, this game is too important for ASVEL, the difference in quality is obvious, and I don't think even Carter can help much. They know him well in ASVEL, and will know how to stop him.     Both these teams have a negative series, and this game is extremely important. Bourg are a very defensively oriented team that got placed to the elite thanks to the best defense of the second league. The roster stayed pretty much the same, so coach Sarre builds success on that. As the season goes on, Bourg are becoming more and more similar to the team they were last season, and played the last four games at 150 points or less.
    On the other hand, Beugnot also pay more attention to the defense than the offense. Paris had a lot of problems with realization in the last weeks, but Beugnot got especially mad after conceding 94 points against Chalon. They went to overs against offensively strong teams (Reims, Gravelines, Chalon), while against the tougher opponents, they were left with a lower number of points (Nanterre 131, Pau Orthez 141, Dijon 135, ASVEL 124). I expect something similar today, and the importance of this game for both teams only works for this bet. Details

    I think this margin is missed by at least 4-5 points. Nevermind Trikala's games against Panathinaikos who scored 15 three pointers, Olympiacos and Panionios who played with juniors, those games aren't the real measure. Trikala played at 199 points against Dramas, 195 against Koroivos, but with two overtimes and only 134 in the regular part. Looking at their results from the pre-season, they went over against the fast Pitesti, CSKA who crushed them by 40, but those matches are a much better indicator. They had 71-74 against Apollon, 64-69 against Koroivos in the Cup. I expect something like that today. This is a very important duel between two teams who are almost eliminated from the league, and the points are worth double. Last year, Trikala celebrated 70-59 here, and we could see something similar today. On the other hand, Panelefsiniakos replaced the coach and won right away. In the first five games, they only went over this margin against Apollon, and Kuostenis puts extra importance on the defense. He warns about Trikala's offensive abilities and wants to base success solely on the defense. Panelefsiniakos played nine pre-season games, and went over this margin in the regular part only against the fast Rovinari and the lower league Arkadikos. They even stayed under against the very fast Rethymn in the Cup. This game seems much more likely to end at 140-145 or less, than close or over 150. The stakes are big and I'm not expecting an offensive rhapsody. Details

    This margin is a direct consequence of both teams' Euroleague games so far. But the group with Bayer, Turow and Fenerbahce has three offense-oriented teams that get the averages up, with Milano being the only defense-oriented team, despite not being at their last season level. Panathinaikos have had extremely high shooting percentages against Fenerbahce and Milano, but Obradovic knows they cannot keep that up. The fast paced Rethymno limited them to 79 points in a championship game. They scored 76 to Kifisija and 75 to Bayern in games with more normal shooting percentages for Panathinaikos. Obradovic knows his team needs good defense for successful games and that is precisely what PAO have been doing against Fenerbahce (limited to 73 points), Milano (63) with only Bayern managing to score over 80. Panathiaikos are tough in defense once again, which is crucial for the games that follow. The Greek team can't win this with 80-90 points - Barcelona will know how to stop Slaughter and his teammates, just like they stopped Goudelock last week.

    Barcelona have two overs in four games. 153 were scored in the Turow game, but under against Milano is more relevant since I expect a game similar to that one today. Barcelona managed to score a number of three pointers very early on to take the lead, but the game still finished at 141 points. 164 points were scored in their game over the weekend against the very fast-paced Gran Canaria, 153 in their match with Turow, 141 with Granco, and only 100 with Bruesa. Besides, Barcelona versus Panathinaikos is a basketball classic, with these two opponents meeting 7 times last two seasons. Only the last one of those seven finished with 146 points. The others were never over 130 (games ending in overtime not included). PAO have a new coach and most part of the team has changed, but their style has not changed. I think this margin is set at least 3 or 4 points too high. Details

    Forget everything we've seen on Monday, this match will look completely opposite. Both have 1-3 ratio, they're direct rivals for the fourth place, and whoever gets defeated won't have much chance for the second round. I expect a huge fight where both said they'll focus on the defense. UNICS can't play as bad as on Monday, the players lacked desire, and will, it seemed that game was sacrificed for this one. Nižnij can't even dream about scoring 89 when the defense is right in Kazanje, like this one was a few games prior. UNICS left Real at 76, ultra fast Sassari at 62, only about 20 in the second half-time, the fast Zenit at 66, Nymburk at 62 in the away game... That's the defense I expect tonight. UNICS haven't been playing in accordance with their abilities for along time, with the roster they have, and I expect them to show true colors tonight. Bagatskis points out the defense, too, he wants to stop UNICS's great individuals, and considering the importance of this game for both teams, I expect a game with 150 points and less. Details

    It seems the Krasnodar match could be the start of a big series for Himki, just like the 31 win they had last season. They spent some time finding their game back then too, but were unstoppable once they did. In Krasnodar they showed not even mighty Lokomotiv can parry their best game, one that was missing lately. They played at 30-405 in their recent matches, partly due to Augustine just getting tuned in and Davis missing. Kurtinaitis said he was looking for optimal positions for some players. However, Himki's Sunday match was by far their best this season and Zenit cannot parry that. The first match they had about ten days ago was close, Himki won in the final moments, but today I expect them to do much better. Karašov is also aware this will be a different Himki, one that's hard to beat. Zenit beat Minsk on Sunday, but the Belarus team played so poorly that the match has no merit here. The coach and players are in war, and a lot is not working in their team. Equally so, Zenit were stomped on by Olimpia last week, were losing by 15 points against a team much weaker than Himki. This team are the heirs of Triumf, having Karašev and some other players, while Hodge and company replace Higgins, Chappell and some others. I'd say they're on par with last season's Triumf, even a bit weaker. Himki beat them in both VTB league matches, by 12 at home, by huge 22 away. Zenit cannot parry them if Himki play at least close to what they did on Sunday. The good fight they put up ten days ago will only serve as warning to Himki that they have to do their best to win.     This is a tip defying the market since the total points margin keeps on getting higher. I, however, think that makes no sense, with the 166 points at which it's currently set being 3-4 points too high. Usak's results from the start of the season are not relevant for this game since Bulkaz got back, fulfilling all the requirements for good results, which they had last year. Their game is based on tough defense (conceded 73, 59, and 61 points), with the last game with Banvit definitely being most relevant. They went over this margin only once in the 16 away games if the Turkish championship last season.

    Enisej were an offense-oriented team last year that play more productive games this season too, but those numbers are a bit misleading. Their opponents so far were mostly offense-oriented teams like Bisonsi, CSKA, Lokomotiv, Šiauliai. Enisej played a close first half in Moscow (35-36) only to do the second time horribly, allowing high productivity that ended the game at over 170 points. Lokomotiv destroyed them in the first quarter, missing the first shot with only a minute on the clock, to take an early lead and settle the game. Siaulia had field goal efficiency of 58% last week, 11/20 in three-point attempts, while Enisej had efficiency of 54%...Usak play much better-quality defense, slower pace game and Enisej probably won't be able to be as efficient. They were under this margin in 9 out of 10 preseason games, recording only one over (easy win over Olimplija). 152 points were scored in their game in Riga, 162 in the Zenit game. Besides, they have not met their preseason expectations and Karadzic will want them to respond properly. Powerful and tall centers and Cooper as point guard definitely have what it takes. I think this game is going to end closer to 155-160 points than 170. Details

    Taking into consideration only stats, this margin makes sense. Dijon's championship games end at 146.8 points on average, Reims' at 163.7 points. A defense-oriented team meets a offense-oriented opponent. Whose style will prevail? Dijon's, I think. Dijon are an open book, Reims are the mystery here. They are playing a very productive game, averaging 81.0 per game, but things are not as they seem here...When it comes to total points bets, number of points from the floor is very important since it suggest what the game pace and shooting percentages are, with the ladder being the tell-tail sigh of defense efficiency. Reims have had 60 attempts from the floor on average so far, scoring with a 50% efficiency. But, they played mostly offense-oriented teams the first few rounds, with Chalon (173 points), Boulogne (164 points) and Pau Orthez (174p) games blowing up their stats. Chalon played no defense early in the season, Boulogne conceded 230 the last two games, while Reims had an amazing field goal efficiency of 66% with Pau Orthez. But, that has nothing to do with the kind of game they're in for today. Only two of their previous games can be relevant for the one taking place today - the 76-69 defeat to Nancy home and the Cup game they lost 66-63 here. Those meetings proved what kind of game Reims play when meeting top defenses. They won't be trying to outrun the opponents today and almost certainly won't have field goal efficiency of over 50%. Both teams recorded 52 shots from the floor (and 27 free throws combined). Dijon had shooting percentage of 48%, Reims of 42%. The game ended with 129 points. I expect a similar meeting today, both with regards to pace and shooting percentages. If it turns out according to my expectations, it should end well below this margin. Borg knows he need to stop Reims' Americans and this game is very important since his team have a 3-3 record after 6 rounds. Details

    The Russian team conceding a 100 three times aren't really a measure, Krivonos base their game on the defense. Minsk are competitive in games where they conceded under 80, the players are eager to make up for past mistakes, and they'll definitely work the defense today. On the other hand, they don't have offensive quality, they're pretty limited and aware they have to keep the game on low number of points. Zenit play faster and more efficient at the season beginning, but the game in Ljubljana could be a crossroad. Karašev is aware that without real defense, he can't count on big results, and Zenit showed during the season they know how to play defense. They conceded 73 against UNICS, 81 against Himki in a thriller finish, 73 against Enisej... Regardless of the faster game, they've only got three overs on this margin in the regular part of the season. Zenit are Triumf successor, they kept the coach and a good part of the team, and Triumf played four games against Minsk in the last two seasons, all under 155 points. I expect something similar today, the game is too important for both of them, and the margin is at least 3-4 points too high. Details

    Dramas had big problems with realization in the first games, as expected. This team seeds are Americans who came from college basketball, and it made sense they needed time to adjust. However, as the season goes on, I expect to be seeing them in better offensive performances, starting today. Obie Trotter's arrival is definitely a huge plus, his experience will benefit this young team greatly, and Dramas should look a lot better. As for the defense, things are working great, Dramas didn't concede over 74 points this season, and Mexas will rely on a good defense in today's game, as well. Both teams have 1-3 ratio before this game, which makes it very important, especially for Dramas who aim for the playoffs, and the following weeks will definitely bring defeats against Olympiacos and Panathinaikos.
    Koroivos are also in a series of three defeats, and I don't see tham as favorites today. They were defeated in their debut against Trikala, at home against Rethymn and in Solun last week as expected. They didn't leave a better impression that Dramas, quite the opposite, I think the guests have a lot more room to improve. They are a team that are open about aiming for the playoffs, even the placement among the top six, while the main goal for Koroivos is to secure staying in the league. Dramas lost three games by 6, 4, and 4 points, against much stronger teams than Koroivos is. I expect a tough, tight game (a very good option is Koroivos under 74.5) where the guests have more chance to win, and if Koroivos do win, I doubt it'll be convincing. Details

    If this game wasn't played in front of empty stands, the odds might have been set correctly, but even then, it would be really questionable. This way, it's a game in front of empty stands, and Aris definitely can't be this big of favorite. This is a duel between teams where the quality and the experience are on the guests' side, they continued confirming great results from the last season by winning in this season. Defeating Olympiacos was the biggest win in their history, and even after that, the team remained calm and continued winning. Experience is a great advantage for them, and will be very important today. They'll push their own rhythm and can play defense as well as Aris will. These two teams played two games last year, Kifisia were defeated by two just after entering the first league, and they won 81-74 at home. Kifisia were better 73-69 at the beginning of the season at home, they were calmer in the final moments. Both teams had a similar path in the season so far, and both got similar wins, but Kifisia were a bit more convincing in theirs. I expect a tough game where the winner will be decided in the final moments, and then Kifisia's experience, and the empty stands, should be the guests' advantage.
