    Though both teams are in a good situation after the first three rounds, this should be a battle for every point, as both teams are primarily defense based, proven by their results this season. Set aside the Neptunas matches, as well as the ones Zvezda played with Vizura, as those were matches against very quick teams and have nothing in common with what we'll see today. Of the remaining seven games, the only one Zvezda went over 152 in was the demolition of Cibona and against Budućnost on Sunday, when the game was decided shortly before the final minutes. The rest of the matches have much bigger merit here, and they were all under 144. Zvezda welcomed Galatasaray and Valencia here in matches at 144 and 139. Olympiacos on the other hand had only two matches where they conceded above 68, and went over this margin against Panathinaikos in the Cup when they scored a heap in the finish, vs Neptunas, and against Kolossos in the Greek league. At home they played 63-57 against Kutxa, and at Valencia, in a match similar to the one expected here, the total was 140 points. Their new coach Sferopoulos is pushing for a full focus on defense, just like he did with Panionios, demanding full concentration and patient offense, aware of the dangers of Zvezda on the counterattack. He will try to lower the pace of the match as much as possible, and Olympiacos are definitely capable of limiting Zvezda to a low score. This game should be decided in 70 or less points, the margin on offer is definitely too high. Details

    Strasbourg are playing very tough games, their defense is doing brilliantly, but offense just doesn't have the necessary potential. They played 12 games this season, limiting the opponent to 65 points or less in 9 of them. They were defeated for the first time on Monday after the Euroleage qualifying defeat to ASVEL. Limoges managed to score 20 goals in the first seven minutes and only 45 in the rest of the game. That means the poor opening is the only reason for Strasbourg's defeat. Strasbourg went over this margin only once this season - against Bonn, a very efficient, fast-paced team. The game with Zaragoza was over, but only after the overtime. All their other games ended at 144 points or less.

    As for Brose, they recorded more overs, but in games against teams that prefer faster pace or those that manage to take a big point-lead. The more important games such as this one, usually ended with a lot less points. Brose lost to Reggiana 70-67 and beat Paris 81-55 home. Anrea Trichineri took over at Brose, having had a brilliant season at UNICS on account of great defense. His imprint is written over Brose more and more as time goes by. Brose know that they need to be ready for a tough game with Strasbourg. The margin is definitely set up influenced by both teams' head-to-head games with Bonn. Those games bring the averages up but aren't too relevant for this game. Strasbourg had a tough game on Monday and won't rush today. They will rely on tough game and I don't think there's much chance for this to end near 150 points. Details

    Minsk conceded a hundred points in each of their three fist games, but I'm convinced that doesn't paint the right picture of the team. Krivonos is the coach who builds the team around defense and it's pretty obvious that something has the change. The players gave up their paychecks for October and we can expect them to try much harder today, especially in defense. Minsk stood some chance only when sticking up with the plan and limiting the opponents to smaller number of points. They should have beaten both Samara and Riga and I expect this to be a game very similar to those two. We should point out that Bisonsi and Avtodor like faster pace game and normally play more efficient games. Himki were simply too good.

    The Turkish team reinstated the coach that lead them to success last season and the results followed immediately when Usak beat a very tricky opponent limiting them to 73 points. They played the home games in the Turkish championship last season mostly under this margin when lead by Bulkaz (in 12 out of 16 games) and the margin set here is too high. I expect this game to end at 155-160 points max. Details

    This margin is influenced by Himki's last matches, but is still unrealistic. Himki are rightfully the top contender for the Eurocup next to Lokomotiv, and are much better than their opponent here. They have had a few bad games, but this was heavily influenced by constant away matches, three in a row, which got Himki out of form a bit. The team have finally had a few days to train at home, Kurtinaitis has no injury issues on his roster, and one can hardly expect them to under-perform again. I expect a game like the ones at the start of the season, when Himki demolished Avodor by +26, Minsk in an away match by +28, and Riga at home by +29 points. Szolnoki are not stronger than any of those, and are a typical home team, much better on home court and only confirming that this season having lost all three away matches, -16 in Skoplje, -10 in Riga, and -4 in Zagreb. Cibona should have won that last match by double digits. Himki are miles above all those teams. Szolnoki are aware they have little to look for here, and if the game goes south for them early on, it's likely Aleksić will give the substitutes some play-time. Zvezda is coming to Hungary on Sunday, Besiktas on Tuesday, both matches much more important to Szolnoki than this one as they have a much more realistic chance to win at home even against much stronger opponents. The margin even dropped by a few points, and Himki can cover it within one quarter. I expect the same scenario that happened against Riga in the Eurocup, when they had +30 at halftime against a team who beat Szolnoki +10 on their court. Details

    The margin dropped by 2-3 points but I think it still has value. Bourg were the second best defense in the second division last season, which only goes to prove what kind of game coach Sarre insists on. Their defense was not that good in their first top league games since they struggle with injuries and have only 8 players to count on. As the injured players recover and get back on the team, Bourg are becoming the team from last season. 149 and 150 points were scored in their last two games, an they had only two overs at this margin in the last 6 official games. One was the failure against Nancy and the other a home win over Chalon. Bourg are playing home today and shouldn't lack motif or intensity. Sarre knows offense-oriented game will probably not bring them any good. On the other hand, Gravellines are the best team in the league in points per game, but their overall performance would not suggest that. They scored 92 against the newly promoted Rouen the last round, 91 in a weird game in Paris which was settled in overtime (total of 209 points) and that is pretty much it when it comes for their brilliant offense performances. They never scored more than 80 in the 4 remaining games. They scored 68 in the Cup against Nancy, 78 against Limoges and 79 against Boulogne, a team everyone scored close to 90 against the first few rounds. Gravelines finished only 74 in the away game with Cholet. I don't think Gravelines are capable of finishing with over 80 points against teams such as Bourg, despite their key player McKinney getting better. We should point out that their defense got better the last few games (conceded 75 and 49 points). Just like Bourg's, their preseason games would usually finish under this margin. Out of the 4 away games, they got close to 150 or more points only in Paris. Details

    Despite the margin going a few points down, I think it's still set too high. Both teams' defenses have been doing great the past few weeks. Strasbourg won 9 consecutive games since the start of the season, limiting the opponents to 60 or less points in seven of those nine. The went over this margin only against Zaragoza and Bonn in Eurocup (11 official games this season). Limoges' numbers aren't as consistent, but if we take a better look at their games with better, more otgh opponent (Strasbourg are both) they would always end with less points scored. 124 with Nanterre in Supercup, 131 with Nancy, 132 with Cholet, 131 with Cedevita. Strasbourg are completely different from Maccabi, the team they met in Euroleaugue, and this game will be much different. Limoges limited the Unicaja (great offense) to 75 points away and Collet knows how good Limoges' defense is. This is a clash of two great rivals that will work hard for each point. I think it will be tough to score more than 70 points for either team. I therefore expect a game at under 170 points, which is why this margin still has a lot of value. Details

    Riga and Samara both changed most of the team and the coach ahead of the season, which affected their ambition. Both teams have been doing much better in defense than in offense so far. Riga went over this margin only twice in ten official games - the first time with the uninspired Jelgava in the championship (80) and the second time when they met Himki (87) in the run'n'gun game with the unmotivated opponent. Their head to head game with the motivated Himki a few days earlier ended very differently, with Riga scoring only 65 points. After that, they met Minsk to score 71 point (26 in the first half). Riga would have scored less than 60 in that game if the home team didn't start making mistakes in the second half. They scored 70 against Zenit and I expect similar efficiency today. On the other hand, Samara struggle with offense while at the same time playing good defense. In 8 preseason games, Samara conceded over this margin only to Zagreb (81), limiting Avtodor to 75, and all the other opponent under 71 point. They conceded more than the margin only to Nymburk in the four official games this season. We can expect a much tough game today since they want to make amends for the defeats in last two games. They came to Latvia with 9-10 and will probably use only 9. But, they are better than they were in the last game since they had only 8 players for the game in Estonia. Puskov is back, Artesin may be on the team too. Samara conceded only 36 points a few days ago in a Cup game, proving their defense is tough. I expect around 70 points today, Riga probably can't reach 80 and this margin thus has value. Details

    Nancy lost the last two championship games and are currently on a 2-3 record. I therefore expect them to respond today. They did much better in Eurocup than against Nenterre and Chalon, and Cholet are even worse than the three previous opponent. Nancy destroyed them home 86-60 and Cholet scored 29 points in the first three quarters. I expect Nancy to be too big a challenge for Cholet. Dijon were weakened in the first round and Gravelines should have won, being in a 7-point lead three minutes before the end. Kunter's team did horribly in the win over Le Mans last week. I think Cholet had big problems with rebound in that game and that might be the problem today as well. Nancy have one of the best teams in the league when it comes to rebounding and I don't think Cholet can keep up with them today. They lost easily to each and every good team and lost to Nanterre last year by a double-digit point difference. Nancy are in a tough situation in the league and I expect them to be very focused and tough today. Details

    Tomic will most definitely not make the mistakes Radonjic made a week ago. Radonjic was well aware that three-pointers are Neptunas' strongsuit, but tried to take advantage of his players' height to play the zone. Neptunas welcomed it and scored 9 three pointers in 14 attempts to take the 15-point lead by half-time. Zvezda tightened the grip later on, limiting Neptunas' shooting percentage and closing the gap. They equalized seven minutes before the end, but then made stupid mistakes allowing Neptunas to score without putting any effort it. Williams missed a shot for the win in the end an Neptunas recorded their first Euroleague win this season.

    Olympiacos are more experienced, know what it takes to win games such as this one and won't be making the same kind of mistakes. They're definitely able to put a lot of pressure on Neptunas' forwards, which is enough to leave the Lithuanian team with no chance. Olympiacos will be the superior team in rebounding and the key. They will set the pace that suits them and try and score through transition. Neptunas don't have the quality necessary to deal with the top European teams. They lost to Himki in VTB League last season by 18 points home, to CSKA by 23 and I expect a similar outcome today. They are not doing brilliantly, having lost home to Lietuvos on Monday by 8 points and barely managing to beat Siauliai on Wednesday. Their performances diminish as the pace goes up and they won't be able to keep up with Olympiacos today. The Greek team have not had a game since Sunday and this one is in the center of their focus. Tomic said there should not be problems for his team today. He knows what they need to do to win and should be able to do so by at least 10 points. Details

    Panathinaikos played a number of matches like this in the last seasons, always with the same recipe. Everyone in the club are aware that Fenerbahce can win only with a firm and aggressive defense and maximum focus during the entire 40 minutes. They will try to slow down the pace, as they managed to do in the bigger part of the match in Germany and take it where they want to. Last year these two teams played two matches in the Top 16; here it ended with 143 points and in Turkey with 149. The line ups have changed, but not the game philosophy. This will be a tactical war between Ivanovic and Obradovic, and I think we won't see a match over 150 points. It's true that in the first meetings both of them were at or above this margin, but Turow and Bayern are exclusively offensively focused teams who like a faster pace and whose defense is bad. However, both Panathinaikos and Fenerbahce have shown this season that they can play a very good defense. Panathinaikos are repairing their level of game in that segment; in three championship matches they received 66, 61 and 58 points, although in the last one they could've gone under 50 if it had been necessary. On the other hand, Fenerbahce have in the championship against the defensively-focused Turks and Gaziantep played at 134 and 136 points, and we could see something similar today. In any case, this margin is set too high, under the influence of their first matches, but it were the opponents who brought them to the big numbers. Today we will see a completely different match. Both teams throw statements about maximum concentration and a smart game, and I see this match at 145 points or less. Details

    I think ASVEL are much heavier favorite than the odds suggest. The French team were very ambitious ahead of the season, hoping to play Europleague, but the defeat to UNICS in the final game seems to have been a huge blow to their confidence and they have not been themselves the past few weeks. On top of that, their top player Jackson was injured, but he's now back and ASVEL should be as powerful as they were a month ago when they beat Barcelona, Oostende, Strasbourg..

    On the other hand, Cantu are dealing with massive problems and nothing they did so far would suggest that the problems might be resolved today. They won only one out of five official games (Avellin, championship game). They recorded two opening Eurocup defeats - 101 points conceded and a 20-point difference against Canaria proved their game is not good. The defense is doing badly, unable to stop teams worse than ASVEL, while the offense can't count on its key player today. ASVEL struggled only with teams with great defenses so far, which Cantu is not. It seems the home team are in for an easy win by 10 or more points. With their European ambition running high, another failure after the defeat to Dijon home last week, is not an option. Details

    This margin is definitely too high and too influenced with the first two Strasbourg's games. True, Strasbourg played them at 169 and 148 points (174 after overtime), but those are the most efficient games of the season. The rest of the games are a much better measure, and Strasbourg didn't go over 144 in either of them. Bonn and Zaragoza have more offensive potential, they play faster, and it resulted in those higher numbers. However, only talk about defense can be heard from Strasbourg before tonight's game, they want to reduce the number of conceded points and leave Reggiana with low numbers. Collet talks about this being a real catenaccio, Diot pointed out they should reduce the enthusiasm and force firmness in the position game... On the other and, Reggiana can try to get success only through firm defense and slowing things down to the fullest. They'll probably be able to count on 8-9 players, they played a very exhausting game against Varese a few days ago, and no chance they'll try to run around. They'll try to test the same recipe as they did against Brose, whom they defeated 70-67. This should be a real fight where Reggiana will hardly go over 65-70 points, but I respect their quality on the home court, and their ability to leave teams much more powerful than Strasbourg with lower numbers. It all points out to a game under 140 points, and this bet has a great value, in my opinion. Details

    With quite a low margin, I doubt we will be seeing it in the continuing of the season when Olympiacos are going to play home matches against teams from the lower half of the chart. Olympiacos passed through a turbulent period in the first couple of weeks, but they're still the strongest Greek team and one of the competitors for Europe's very top. Only three days after the difficult defeat against Panathinaikos, which resulted in the coach being fired, Olympiacos crushed Apollon on home court with 82-56, considering the fact that it was 26 already after the third quarter. Kolossos is ranked with Apollon, but they aren't weaker. On Monday they were smoothly beaten by Panathinaikos with the result of 81-61, considering there were 18 points of difference on the halftime. Kolossos couldn't handle the Athens teams' firm defense, and today it will be even harder. Olympiacos are not the best in the offense part considering the season so far, but the defense is at a high level. After 56 against Apollon, they received 67 in Valencia, 67 in an away match against Kifisia and 57 against Kutxa two days ago. The defeat against Kifisia was a big wake-up call. Petway points out that they have to play a serious match from the first to the final minute. And such a defense should be the trigger for many counter-attacks in today's match. We shouldn't be missing points from the transition. Kolossos will hardly cope with the aggressiveness of home players, and they themselves are aware that they have nothing to search for here and it is to be expected that Koutalianos will spread the time spent in game evenly. I expect Olympiacos to be in their good shape and I expect a win with at least 25 points of difference. Details

    Taking into consideration the average of their games so far only, this margin could make sense. But, I think it's at least 4-5 points too high. Borg's game philosophy and Dijon's game style suggest they will be focused on defense. We had the prefect chance to see how that turned out in their games with other defense-oriented teams. Last weekend in Strasbourg was the perfect proof of it when 71 points were scored in the first 30 minutes, 119 in total. Dijon conceded 63, 71, 79, and 63 points (79 in that strange Le Manse game). Ever since Joseph and Alingue got back, Dijon are performing as they used to. Paris have lost the last two championship games. Beugnot was furious with his defense after the Pau Orthez game and the 71 point they conceded in it. Paris are putting more focus on defense this season, having limited Nanterre to 60 points away. Beugnot asked for a higher-pace game with Reggiana, since Reggiana didn't have all the players on the roster. Besides, their shouting efficiency was great that night. This should be a very different game, just like their head-to-head meetings the previous season were. 148, 144, 139, 129 and 151 points were scored in the last five of those, with neither team ever scoring more than 76 points. Getting over that margin will be tough for either tonight. With both teams on a 2-2 record, this is an extremely important game and I don't see it ending with over a 150 points scored. Details

    This match is a consequence of Chalon's games last season, and at the beginning of a new one. However, the guest defeat against Bourg changed everything, Choulet got mad and asked his team to play real defense. This team don't have the offensive potential like the last season, and the club management finally figured out that they can't ask for the playoffs when they concede 80-90 points per game. It resulted in a completely opposite approach in Villerbaune. Chalon didn't play a game at 120 points for a long time, but it bore fruit. We can expect them to continue in the same rhythm, Choulet wants the fewer points conceded as possible before today's game, he's aware they'll have to work hard against Nancy. Nancy conceded over 80 points for the first time this season on Wednesday, but the Eurocup is one thing, the championship another. There, Nancy have 2-2 ratio, they lost at home against Nanterre last weekend, and I expect Weisz to ask for the max firmness after two defeats in a row. Even last season, they won this away game 80-71, and against Reims, one of the best teams of the league offensively, a few weeks ago, they stayed at 145 points. Considering that Chalon should play firmer, more patient, with more brains, I expect this game to be at about 145-150 points, too. Details

    Minsk conceded more than a 100 points twice so far, but that does not stand as a proof of their defense quality. The 108 Himki scored against them might be justified by Himki's good quality as Minsk fell pray to home team's tactics, allowing the opponent to suck them into a fast-pace game that ended with a bad defeat. They did as the coach asked only in Samara, and only for about 35 minutes. The finish was bad, but that game was nonetheless the kind of performances they should always go for. Minks are tougher home, the plan was to keep Himki under 70 points, and the plan won't change today. It's a very important game in their bid to end the losing streak and I expect a much more serious approach today.

    Riga are doing well, with the Oktjabr game as their only failure this season. The offense has not reached its full potential yet and the defense is the driving force on the team. 152 and 151 point were scored in their games with Enisej and Oktjabr, two fast-paced teams, 132 on Wednesday with Szolnoki. I don't think their previous head-to-head games with Himki are more relevant this those three last games they did this season. Minks are definitely not as fast as Enisej and Oktjabr, and with the game being extremely important for both opponents, I expect less than 150 points to be scored. I opted for the under at 155.5 points when they met in Minsk last season, the final score was 75-68 for Riga, and I expect a similar game today. Details

    Olympiacos beat Laboral easily in both of their Top 16 games. They were 19 points up by half time to win by 19 in the end in Spain. The point difference in Greece was 30. Crespi says this Olympiacos team is even better, which is something I have to agree with. They do struggle with injuries, but Darden and Papapetrou haven't been on the team since mid-preseason, and they managed to win without Printezis a week ago in Spain. Olympiacos failed twice this season already, which could make Kutxta, whose performances are horrible this season, easy pray for making amends. Laboral simply don't have anything to stand up to Olympiacos, the defense is preforming extremely poorly, while offense won't be able to deal with Olympiaco's aggressiveness. Not even Real managed to win here last year. When Olympiacos do their best, no one can stand up to them at Pirej. The motivation will be running high following a defeat to Kifisia. They proved to know how to handle Laboral last year. They singled out Huertas as Laboral's leader and defending him will get them on the right path. Details

    For both teams this is a match that could direct their fate in the Euroleague. The coming schedule of matches is very difficult, and the team that loses here will be in dire straits half way through the competition. Cedevita are missing Ukić and Tomas, two of their most experienced, with Ukić of particular importance for their offense. I believe they will be in big trouble against the aggression Limoges will impose in their own arena, and knowing Repeša, he will fully rely on defense. The last four matches Cedevita played did not go over 145 points. Limoges on the other hand have not allowed any of their three home opponents so far this season to score over 62 points, and after their last two poor defense performances in away matches I'm certain Dupraz will demand a full focus and commitment on defense. This was deemed a key match for Limoges a long time ago, and the team have had problems dealing with pressure on offense in games such as this one.     Bazarevic was right to be angry after his team's defeat in Kazahstan. Knowing him, he's probably going to expect a complete determination thorough this whole game. This Lokomotiv is worth a lot, having beaten Nymurk and Stelmet away, who are both better than this Ventspils, even than CSKA. The game in Kazakhstan was just a slip that is only going to cause a more serious approach at Lokomotiv. Ventspils beat Budućnost in the first round match, which is why Lokomotiv won't be underrating them today. The Latvians are in for a tough match. Their team is not as good as it was last year and I don't see a way they can stand up to such a motivated Lokomotiv. The home team are without two point guards, but managed to beat Stelmet in Poland regardless. They are capable of covering this by half time and I expect a win by more than 20 points. Details
