Kerber is a bit overrated in this match. True, not many have expected to beat Muguruza so convincingly but this is a completely different match. Muguruza played one of her worst matches this season, she flopped with her serve and the German used what was offered to her. The Spaniard won only 9 points in 7 service games and it's clear that's far from her usual performances. On the other hand, Lepchenko had a much easier task against Vickery. She let her take only one game and got filled with confidence for the upcoming semifinals. She has already gotten two great win (Garcia,Radwanska) and one easier match suited her well. Unlike Muguriza, who looked for a winner in almost every rally, thus making Kerber's job easier, Lepchenko has been more patient and consistent lately. She has shown that against Radwanska whom she beat because of her consistency. She's playing at home, she has one of the best chances in her career and the head-to-heads show she had a good chance. That's why I think the 3.10 odds seem a bit too much and I believe everything above 2.6 is worth taking. Details

The win against Azarenko is surely praiseworthy but it's a good indicator that Venus is still far from right form. Viktoria hadn't played for some time and she was uncertain in the final stages of sets, which Venus made use of. However, the American still made too many mistakes and depended on her first serve a lot. On the other hand, Petkovic is in great form and has had 7 consecutive wins with only 1 lost set. True, she did play against weaker players but this positive run will sure give her plenty of confidence. She is playing solid tennis and is assured in rallies. She has enough power to take the initiative and she showed against Osaka that she has improved on her forehand side. I'm convinced that Petkovic's great form will decide this game and this seems like very good bet under these odds. Details

Zhao reached the second round through some fortunate circumstances. Wickmayer had some back problems after which she did terribly on her serve and rallies. Even though Carol was consistent in the rallies, it should be taken with a pinch of salt as Wickmayer's movements were not too great and she wasn't a real threat. Ivanović played a really good match against Lisicki. She was good on her serve and post-serve game and she was particularly impressive on the return. She read her opponent's serve well and used her chances. I think the situation will be the same against Zhao as Carol doesn't have a too good serve and Ana will have plenty of break chances. In addition, Zhao has not played against a player with such a good forehand like Ivanović's. Ana showed against Lisicki that she has plenty of options in her game and I'm sure Zhao won't get too many points. Details

It is really incredible that Nedovyesov to win pays with odds of over 3. Aleksandr already beat Haase twice this season, and his stronger shots were the deciding factor in both matches. He managed to take over initiative and dictate the match, which did not suit Haase. Apart from that, Nedovyesov is in much better form, with six wins in seven matches, while Haase shows rather disturbing body language in his recent matches. Apart from that, he offers too many chances on his second serve, which Nedovyesov will know how to use. I believe Haase will be further shackled by his recent defeat against Nedovyesov, and I'm convinced Haase is overrated in this match. Nedovyesov has already proven he can beat his opponent, and does not "deserve" for his victory to pay with odds of over 3. Details

We must congratulate Mladenovic for getting to the semifinal, but here is where her story ends. She was good on first serves, but not quite impressive. She lost her serve on quite a few occasions, and made it to the semifinal mostly through mistakes by her opponents, something Wozniacki will not do. She has confidence on her serve and excellent results against players with a style similar to Mladenovic's. The reason is her smart game where wide shots force tall players to move a lot, making it impossible for them to dictate the tempo of the game. Added to that is her truly excellent return, and Mladenovic no longer has a foothold in this match. Apart from that, Mladenovic regularly gifts her opponents quite a few double faults. Caroline beat Pliskova with a bigger lead, and with all due respect to the French player, Pliskova has both a better serve and a better forehand. Wozniacki already beat her in Monterery with a five games lead, which would be a returned stake on this bet, but she is in much better form now, and I'm convinced you'll be able to count the games Mladenovic wins by the fingers on one hand. I think the bookies have completely misinterpreted this situation. Yes, Nadya has three convincing defeats on clay this season but she lost against much better players than Dinu. In addition, she struggled with injuries at the time but her performances in Birmingham and Wimbledon showed she's completely ready. Dinu is an average player who will never be more than that. She has had a long break this season and has played only a few lower-tier ITF tournaments. She lost against players outside Top 500 with some conviction so what can she expect today? I believe Kichenok will be assured on her serve and should have a break chance every time Dinu serves. In addition, Dinu has never faced a player with such strong strokes and I'm sure Kichenok will get a convincing win. This can go for 4.5 game margin for one unit less. Details

Even though betting on Garcia against Makarova might seem crazy, allow me to elaborate. Makarova did beat Garcia last year, losing only two points in the process, but he Frenchman has drastically improved ever since. She has displayed excellent serve in the second round and it will be an advantage today. In addition, Garcia really has many options in her performances. While she prefers baseline rallies, she's not afraid to rush the net and finish the point off with a volley and Makarova will not break her down on the net so easily. A problem might lie in Makarova's tricky serve that is really hard to return against, but i see her chance on the return of her second serve. Makarova still hasn't shown much at Wimbledon. She barely beat Kimiko Date Krumm and Doi. Her reactions are slow, she leaves her backhand side uncovered and Garcia is a smart player that will know how to make use of that. Even though this seems as a long shot at first, I do believe Garcia has the quality to win, especially now that she's gotten rid of her mental barrier of playing at Grand Slams. Details

Garcia got what she needed in the first round - a tight match against a good opponent to restore her lost confidence. True, she cannot afford to go from a 4-0 lead in the decisive set to come to 5-5, but she showed the mental fortitude in the closing stages of that set. Garcia was very good on her first serve but even better in rallies. Even though she sometimes seems that she's unable to walk on grass, she has a very good game for that surface. She has good movements and a wide array of shots that makes her job a lot easier in comparison to other players. Lepchenko will rely on her consistency and the Frenchwoman's errors in this match. If we take into consideration that Errani was unable to do so and that Garcia used that match as a good preparation for this one, it's clear that Lepchenko will struggle to win today. Garcia has a better serve and stronger strokes. In addition, I believe she will show another good performance after a hard-won match and this is worth a moderate to high stake. Details

Garcia is in poor form and that's a fact, but she is still closer to a win in this match. She has had no confidence in her last 2 grass matches, but those were against more aggressive players than the one today. That's how she got through and she made many mistakes in her attempts to take over the initiative. Now she's facing a match against a much more passive player whom she had already beaten on clay and this will help her in term of psychological advantage. I believe that Garcia will take courage from that win and that she will show her true face in this match. In addition, she's much better on grass than Errani who has a much weaker serve, which is often the main aspect of grass matches. Garcia also has a faster game in rallies, a better serve and a better performance on the net, so only a large number of unforced errors can stop her from getting through into the second round. Makarova has two wins against Kimiko, but none on grass. The Japanese has shown in Birmignham that she can play an excellent match on grass. In addition to great serve that will not give the Russian too many chances, she hits the ball early, thus denying her opponents some time to react. True, Makarova had a solution for that in their head-to-heads. First she kept her serve games with a wide serve, and she forced the backhand of the Japanese player on the return. She had a good tournament in Eastbourne and she reached the quarterfinals but she doesn't deserve to be such favorite. Kimiko will not offer too much on her serve and I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a tie-break in the first set, which should direct this match. A win for Kimiko is not a bad bet for a smaller stake, but a 5.5 game counter-handicap should be even safer. Details

Petkovic has gotten a boost of confidence by reaching the Roland Garros semifinals but this success was, in my opinion, not enough to make her such a huge favorite in this match. While she admitted that grass is not her favorite surface, Rybarikova focused all her attention on grass. In the match against Mestach, she showed excellent serve and very good movement. These two factors will be crucial against Petkovic as well. The German got enough errors from Wickmayer and has managed to make use of Yanina's poor serve. This match will be a slightly different story. Rybarikova has a better serve and will cause a lot of problems for Petkovic with her low backhand slice. The last two matches are a proof enough that this matchup doesn't suit Petkovic and I'm sure that Rybarikova has a much better chance than the odds would suggest, especially as she's playing on grass. Wozniak took what was offered in the first round. Watson choked in the second set, didn't use match balls and started making too many errors. She tried to find a way out in longer exchanges, but she wasn't consistent enough, and she allowed Wozniak to come into the court few times too many. In the end, her nervousness took its toll and Heather basically gave Wozniak the place in the second round. On the other hand, Konta showed a great game in Nottingham, and again in the first round of Birmingham. She has a really strong first service that will be her biggest strength against Wozniak. Besides, she showed a very good, aggressive game against Nara and I'm under impression that she can take initiative against Wozniak, and be the one who will dictate the game. Add to that the home audience that pushed Konta in the previous matches, so she won in all the uncertain final moments of the matches, it's clear she doesn't deserve to be underestimated in this match. Wozniak certainly boosted her self-confidence, but I think Konta showed a better game in the exchanges, and she's also more secure on the service, which will be more than enough to win. Details

Even though Kerber makes sure to tell the press after each match that he's playing with no fears, she doesn't leave that impression on the court. She played defense well, but she also has a hard time getting points. The match against Hantuchova could've easily went the other way, and Daniela's gaffe decided, she didn't finish the game at 5-5 and 40-0. The German is playing better than in the last few weeks, but it's still far off from the way she got to Top 10. On the other hand, Bouchard isn't brilliant, either. Especially at the beginning of the matches where she always needs a few games to catch the rhythm, and she gets into a break behind early on. She could allow herself that against Larsson and Goerges, but not against Kerber. Her hits are stronger than Hantuchova's, who had 45 winners against the German, and I think she'll manage to break her defense. Besides, her service is more secure, and she has more self-confidence. Kerber lost to Pliskova last week after having a 4-0 advantage in the first set, and it only confirms that she doesn't like the hitters like that. Bouchard is much closer to a win in this match, and I'm convinced she'll get it. Details

I'm not a big fan of Stephens and I avoid betting on her when ever possible, but this time, I'm convinced she'll win easily. Makarova started Rolland Garros listing the problems she's currently dealing with. She said she's got a cold, that coughing distracts her when in the game, and we can't forget that she requested medical assistance regarding her joint in the second round match. He game was not impressive, she just did a much as necessary to win against the average opponents. Sloane once again confirmed to be a different player in Grand Slams than she is in ordinary tournaments. She recorded two convincing wins, she's bursting with confidence, and doesn't seem to be lacking consistency either. Besides, she has the upper hand in serving, and that will make her job today much easier. Sephens is not the one to do well under pressure, and her good-quality serving will put the pressure on Makarova. Stephens' forehand will take control, forcing Makarova to a more defense-oriented game. Stephens beat her in their only head to head match, she is aggressive enough in Paris, and she can beat the Russian player once again, I'm sure. Details

Garcia played below par in Nurnberg. The reason for that are somewhat slower conditions and being focused on Roland Garros in advance. She was too hasty in rallies and left an impression that she just wanted to get that tournament over with. She will play against Ana Ivanović in the first round and she can't be too happy with the draw. The Serbian did well in the first part of the season, she has two titles and is very confident. However, I still think she should put in a good effort to beat Garcia. The French player has a very good forehand and she also switched the rallies to her backhand side on a few occasions, thus using the weak sides of her opponents. I expect the same here. In addition, the support from the fans will motivate her and I don't think she'll give to many chances to Ivanović on her serve. All in all, I believe Garcia can make this match complicated, get at least one set or get into tie-break, which makes this margin at these odds very much worth the money. Details

Even though Giorgi has disappointed me with her performance against Soler-Espinosa, I believe she will have no problem against Jovanovski. Bojana has been playing well below par for some time. Mirjana gave her a lesson in the last match. She took the initiative, attacked the ball early and ended the match with only three games lost. I expect the Italian to do the same. Giorgi was defeated by Soler-Espinosa on account of her inconsistency but I doubt Jovanovski can be so assured from the baseline like the Spaniard. Apart from that, Giorgi has a huge advantage on her serve and is more confident. I believe her strong forehand will take the initiative and give her a convincing two-set win. Details

Bouchard was not displaying her best game throughout the tournament. She mostly won only because her opponents weren't good. Shvedova managed to put more fight and calmness decided that match. In the semi final, Knapp once again allowed the pressure to influence her game too much. Bouchard did average matches with good serving, and to some extent her tennis was not aggressive enough. On the other hand, Pliskova was impressive. She's got the confidence and the strength of her shots is simply amazing. She beat Kerber and Svitolina easily, and showed improvement in her moving on clay. I think Pliskova will manage to take initiative in this match, and that she will be the one to dictate the rallies. The only question is, will she be able to control the number of unforced mistakes. Judging by the last two matches, that shouldn't be a problem either. heir first head to head match was settled in the very end of the third set, and I am convinced that Pliskova can put up a good fight here, and maybe even win the title. I'm convinced Pavlyuchenkova has nothing to do in this match. The Russian came back after a break and managed to get two valuable, but difficult wins. First she defeated Torro-Flor in three sets, and then turned over in the last set and defeated Jankovic. She managed to make up 1-4 in the last set and get a win after more than 2.5 hours of playing. I believe she got emotionally drained in that match. Pavlyuchenkova gave 100% to get back in that match, and it's questionable how she'll be today. She was really exhausted on the training yesterday, and it's questionable whether she managed to get rest because her physical form isn't the best after a month long break. On the other hand, Ana is really convincing. She had two wins in two sets and showed a great game and an excellent forehand. Besides, her service was secure which gives her a big advantage in this set. The matches between the two show that the Russian can't match Ivanovic in exchanges, and add to that her big service problems lately, it's clear where this match will go. Pavlyuchenkova had 29 double errors in the previous two rounds, and Ana will know how to create additional pressure with her second service and getting into the court deeper. All in all, I'm convinced Ivanovic will win this convincingly and cover the offered handicap. Details

Hats off to Petra for three wins in three matches, but I see Safarova as a favorite here. First, I'd like to say all of the matches were played in faster conditions, while clay is where Safarova feels better than Petra. Still, it's not a good enough argument to bet on Safarova. The reason for this bet is in the mood and the games they both showed. Safarova had two valuable wins while Kvitova showed big falls in the previous two rounds. She managed to win, but it was obvious in the first round already that she wasn't 100% focused. She recently ended her relationship with Stepanek and she hasn't seemed happy since, her body language shows it. So, after she defeated Lepchenko, she looked as if she was defeated, and not that she got a tough win. Safarova played the first two rounds a lot more consistently than Petra. Besides, her service is more secure, and I believe the time has come for her to defeat Petra for the first time. Details

I really don't see why Lisicki is the favorite in this match. Ranking aside, everything points to Pliskova winning this match. One of the most important factors in women's tennis is confidence, especially for players like Lisicki and that is her problem - she lost her confidence, and her performance with it. Her first serve is one of her stronger assets and she has been getting lower figures on it in recent matches. As far as the rallies go, her poor form has affected that as well and she often cannot decide whether to attack or go for a safer solution. She can't go through with that performance as she's an aggressive player who has to attack to get out of her slump. On the other hand, we have a completely different situation with Pliskova who's also an aggressive player with a quality serve and excellent forehand but unlike Lisicki, she's in great form and is playing really good tennis. She is very confident, which is seen in her performance in tie-breaks as she won 7 out of 8 tie-breaks this season. I expect both players to be assured until the final stages of the set and that's when Pliskova's confidence and confidence should decide the match in her favor. Details
