The Germans are the favorites today and I think they will confirm it against England. Celia Sasic, their top scorer, has most reason for making amends as she missed the penalty in the semis against the US. There will be enough chances in offense and she also scored two goals (Germany won 3-0) in the friendly match last season. My choice is that Sasic will score but other options at Germany are not bad either (team over, the win...). Details

We have one expected finalist (Spain) and one big surprise (Switzerland) in the U17 EC final. Spain are undefeated over the past two years, they have two wins and two draws here, having scored at least 2 goals in each of the matches up until the semifinals. They conceded only one goals this year - to France in the semis and won in the end after the penalty shootout. They scored the equalizer in that game with only minutes left in regulation time (a master piece by Natalia Montilla) but they were better in almost all segments of the game. The Spaniards had 7 shots on target, better possession, control and in this match inferior forward Garcia, who had a few perfect shots at scoring. But she made up for it by scoring the final winning penalty.

Switzerland came here as the undefeated team and recorded three wins and a draw here. They did very well against Germany in semifinals and managed to survive the constant pressure over the last 15 minutes to finally score a goal after the Germans missed out on a great chance.
I expect Spain to learn something from their game against Switzerland and not copy Germany's bad formation in the semifinals against the Swiss. Spain are technically the most superior team here, with Guijarro, who is far ahead of anyone else here. Four of their players are already playing for their Spanish Primera A teams. Even though they are clearly much better than Switzerland technically, the Germans were holding back and that backfired. Spain will not go with their tactics but rather try and open the game with an early goal to make everything easier as they sail towards an easy win. Individual over for Spain at 1.5 margin is worth going for. Details

The first semi-final at the European Championship U17 for women brings us a duel between Spain, who were first in the group with two wins and a draw, and France, who had two wins and a defeat in group B. There are many reasons for which I believe that the Spaniards are quite underestimated and that they're bigger favorites to win and go into the finale than other currently set odds.

This generation of Spanish players (1998-99) doesn't know of defeat in the last two years, lead by selector Pedro Lopez. First they won development tournaments without a defeat as a U16 team in 2014, this season they have five wins and a draw concluded with the last win against Iceland at this tournament. Three in the qualifications (Russia 3-0, Romania 5-0, Belgium 4-0), and on the European Championship (England 1-1, Germany 4-0, Iceland 2-0). They were unlucky against England, they had at least five clear chances for a goal, and the English scored their only shot. The importance of the win against Germany can be seen from the fact that this was Germany's first defeat after a 12 game winning run, in the game against Iceland, the coach rested his best players, gave a chance to some reserve players that did their job and Spain is the only team that played with all of their 18 players that traveled to Iceland.
Player wise, there are seven players on their roster who played for the year older generation last year at the World Cup (second place). Two of them also played at the 2013 European Championship U17 where Spain defeated France 2-0 and played the finale the same year. Nine players are playing for Spanish senior clubs. Unlike them, only three French players are a part of a senior team. The most well known name is forward Marie-Antoinette Katoto who plays for Paris Saint Germain, and she played two games for them and scored a goal. Other players are mostly playing for U19 teams.
Individually, I have to point out some players that stand out and that are handling older players well even at this age. The first one is Patricia Guijaro, this will be the third big competition for the U17 team, after the 2013 EC and 2014 WC. She debuted for the Collerense's first team at the age of 14, after three seasons she signed a contract this Summer with Barcelona's champion. The second one is central forward Lucia Garcia, she scored five goals in three games of the development tournament last year, this year she scored 16 goals for Oviedo in the Primera. She already scored 4 goals at this tournament, three of which were against Germany. She is very fast and determined in the finish, something that can be a big problem for player of this age.
Finally, if we would make a parallel, these two generations haven't played against each other yet, but France played two friendly matches against Germany this year, they lost both of them, first one at the start of the year 0-5, and then late in May 1-3 for Germany. The Spanish team demolished the same Germany here on the tournament.
To sum up, at least for the lowest stake I see some value in Spain's win and their advancement to the finale of this European Championship. Details

The young Germans easily beat Iceland at the beginning of the EC, and then lost 0-4 to Spain. Thanks to this defeat, and England's tie against Spain (1-1) in the first round, England are second in the group, with a point more than Germany. Still, I think the Germans are really underestimated, and they can use that.
English players are a mediocre generation, and they were far from brilliant in the qualifiers, with two wins (Hungary 4-1, Netherlands 2-0) and one defeat (Republic of Ireland 0-2). They had more luck than the Spaniards at the EC, and scored from a single shot they had, despite the Spaniards dominating the whole match. Their win against Iceland (3-1) wasn't convincing in the second round.
Germany vs Spain was a kind of final before the final, the Spaniards used all their chances, scored goals early on, and showed they're the main favorite for the title right now. Still, losing that match didn't affect German ambitions in the slightest. The coach Bernhard said that they can still win this, because the form of the competition allows you to lose a game and still win in the end. So, the Germans are definitely fully motivated to win and get placed to the EC semifinal. This generation of the Germans are winners, they had a 13-wins run in 13 matches since the beginning of 2014 till this defeat against Spain, and in 12, the goal difference was two or over. One of those matches was against England, and it served to check before the EC qualifiers. The English hosted that match, and the Germans won 4-2, with both teams having almost the same lineup here. Going a year back, Germany and Spain are a level above everyone else in this generation when it comes to the game and the results. The Germans' background is much better than the English, and tonight, they're going for the win against a team they've already beaten once, and who suits their game style formation-wise. I think this match will end with at least two goal difference. Details

Japan almost didn't display any shortcomings at this WC, if we look over the fact they don't have the classical striker in offense. They are doing a great job tactically making their way into the final and I believe their mental strength will overpower the physical strength usually associated with Australia. Australia have clearly had a much tougher road to quarterfinals but they are not the team capable of destroying the opponents through offense (5 goals in 4 games, 19 shots in total). They like engaging in tactical outplaying in midfield but they will play the team that surpasses everyone else in that segment. Japan are relentless when it comes to assists and ball-control, their defense conceded only two goals here and allowed only 8 shots on target. They scored 6 goals in 4 games but interestingly, 5 of those 6 were scored within the first 30 minutes of the games, after which Japan would control the score very well. They have a very good h2h record with Australia - three wins (1-0,3-0,1-0) and a draw since 2011. I believe they will reach the semifinals in regulation time. Details

US players weren't that great in their win against Colombia (2-0). After the Colombian goalie got sent off with a red card, the US players let the Colombians have more ball possession, despite having a player more. They played with the aim to get to the top eight in the group. Also, Holiday and Rapinoe got yellow cards against Colombia. Both were really good in the WC so far, especially Rapinoe, who's a leading scorer for the US team, and creates lots of chances (10 assists). So, why believe that the Americans' can beat China by two goals difference now that they lost two creators from the starting lineup, and after the bad performance against Colombia? The first reason is that they've got to explode somewhere, and China are perfect for that. USA beat China eight out of ten times since 2008, and eight of those ended by two or more goals difference. Seven matches were played since 2012, and the Americans didn't score over one goal only once.
The second reason is the formation. Christen Press will cover for Rapinoe and Holiday. She started the first match against Australia, was one of the best players on the field, and scored one goal. She can play the center forward and the classic forward positions well. She's not as creative as Rapinoe, but she's really agile and fast, and that works great for any formation, the standard 4-1-3-2 used at this WC, or a possible 4-3-3 formation with Morgan, Wambach and Press who could easily crush China's well-organized defense. But, that defense aren't as good technically, and aren't experienced in playing big matches.
USA's win is definitely a good material for the combinations, and our final pick is that we'll see at least two goals scored against China. Details

The final before the final after which one of the teams that displayed most here and that were considered the top contenders for the title will be knocked out. The Germans are by far the most productive team with 19 goals and with by far the most shots (117). They conceded only 2 goals. They are in the group with two horrible opponents Thailand and the Ivory Coast but Germany did well against Sweden as well, having scored 4 goals and could have scored more. France had a bit more demanding schedule and their results here definitely beat greater significance. They are the third most productive team here (9 goals) but we should note that they scored 8 goals in the last two games, 6 of them in the first half. They conceded only two goals but France's defense will most likely now be faced with their biggest challenge.

This tip is based on two things - their numerous head-to-head matches (both between the national teams and the best clubs in Champions League) and their performances here. Germany played a high paced games both against Sweden and Norway, their most challenging opponents here. The Germans know that the key shortcoming on the French team is of the psychological nature, especially if they are faced with a team that is aggressive, as we saw in their match against Colombia. It is expected for Germany to try and get to the goal faster, which will create nervousness in France's defense and overall game. On the other hand, France opened their last two matches with fast goals. They had a 3-0 lead against Mexico 13 minutes into the game, and a 2-0 lead against Korea 8 minutes in. One of the two center backs at Germany is out with a suspension and France can look for scoring chance there.
These two teams met 4 times since 2011 and we saw goals on both sides in three matches. The only official match was from the last WC (2011) which Germany won 4-2. They played three test matches since ( a 1-1 draw late in 2011, 3-3 in 2013 and France won the last one 2-0, which was the last match in which Germany didn't score). They have scored at least one of more goals in the 12 games since. The tip is: we will see at least one goal by each side today. Details

The European Championship U-17 for women brings us a second round derby of the Group A , which is also seen as the 'finale before the finale'. Two teams that stood out with quality and results in the previous years in this age group, in the qualifications for the European Championship and at the start of the Championship. When it comes to the Germans, we should start with their results from mid-2014, when this generation of players (1998) played the U-16 competitions. At the prestigious Nordica Cup mid-July 2014, they won the first place (Norway 4-0, Denmark 1-0, Finland 5-2, Sweden 3-0), and then they defeated France (3-0) and Romania (7-1) in friendlies later that year. They continued they winning run in 2015 against England (4-2) and France (5-0). In the qualifications for this European Championship, they demolished Azerbaijan (6-0), Czech Republic (5-0) and Italy (5-0). In their last test ahead of the Championship, the Germans once again defeated France (3-1), who is also participating in this tournament. In the first round of the European Championship, they defeated home team of Iceland 5-0. So, in 13 games we have 13 wins by Germany and 12 games finished with three or more goals. On the other side we have Spain who have been achieving great results in the last year in this age group, last year a generation year older than this one won silver at the World Cup. This generation of Spaniards has defeated Russia (3-0), Romania (5-0) and Belgium (4-0) in the qualifications this Spring. They played a draw against England (1-1) in the first round here, in a match they dominated from start t finish, they took six shots on goal, and they conceded from England's only shot on goal. Even though these are new generations, we should mention that their head-to-head games were always filled with goals, three overs and one under in the period between 2009 and 2013 (Germany 7-0, 3-0, Spain 4-0 and 1-1). Since both teams have great attacking potential and the game is an ideal opportunity to prove their abilities on this tournament, the least we can expect at this game are at least three goals. I will not surprise anyone by saying that the US are a heavy favorite here and that anything but their win will be a rather big surprise. I'll, however, add that the win is expected to be convincing. Let's start with their games at this WC. The US finished top table in the best group with two wins and a draw (7 points). They beat Australia, who knocked out Brazil yesterday, easily 3-1, played a draw with Sweden and beat Nigeria in the final group stage 1-0. The US scored only 3 goals in 4 games and there were not too many shots on target (14) which is why the odds at US scoring at least 3 goals are quite good. The US used group stage game to develop tactics and saved energy for the playoffs. We can expect an American hurricane today. They are playing against a team that is not very disciplined, they are one of the toughest team at WC, especially when inferior in terms of tactics and technical skills. They play a rather dirty game with a lot of fouls which will give e quite a few chances to the Americans. The last two h2h matches show that Colombia doesn't do well against the US. In 2011 WC, the US won 3-0 and had a total of 27 shots on goal, 9 of which on target. In 2012 Olympics, the US won 3-0 again, having had a total of 15 shots, 9 of which on target. All the scorers from back then are in the US lineup now and another great star Alex Morgan is very keen to finally score here. I had to choose between the handicap (-2.5) and this individual total at USA. I went with the latter in the end because that is the prerequisite for the former and it's better paid. Details

France played their best game on this World Championship in their last group stage game against Mexico, they scored five goals, but they didn't have to. The French could have won tactically by one or two goals, with weaker goal difference they would have been the second in their group, behind England, and avoid Germany in a possible quarter-final and have an easier path to the final. But this squad showed that they make no calculations and that they believe in their abilities and their ambitions, and they are great at this WC. If we compare France and Korea on this WC, the first impression is that Korea is coming from a much easier group, in which they lost to Brasil (0-2), drew against Costa Rica (2-2), and defeated Spain (2-1). Brasil is a Top 10 team, but Costa Rica, WC rookies, they lost to USA 0-6 in the finale at the 2014 CONCACAF Cup, qualifying cup for this tournament, and they defeated Mexico in the group stage 1-0. The same Mexico conceded five goals against France a few days ago, they scored two goals from two shots on goal against Spain, they used the mental drop of the Spaniards who already started to celebrate their win after a 0-1 lead in the first half.

The great experience and quality of France is a guarantee that the same will not happen to them. They have a great squad width, and that is confirmed by the fact that selector Bergeroo finally dared to leave his big star Necib on the bench, she played her first two games here well below her level. On the other side, right winger Delie used her playing time excellently when she got her first chance to start the match, and she's the one that began the series of goals against Mexico.

We should also look at the statistics of this WC, 31-10 overall record of shots, almost twice more successful passes, only two conceded goals. Their last head-to-head game was a long time ago, in 2003. France defeated Korea 1-0, but this year in the preparation period, on the tournament in Portugal, France defeated the leading Asian team of Japan 3-1, and since Korea played against Brasil in the group stage, we should mention that France defeated Brasil (2-0) at the end of the last year. Win is a great material for combinations, for the set stake worth of playing is the offered handicap on France.

If we compare the way they played in the groups, the Australia's four points and the second place have almost the same significance as the nine points and the first place Brazil earned with three wins and without a defeat. Brazil had the easiest group, according to all objective assessments, they defeated Korea 2-0, Spain 1-0 and Costa Rica by scoring only one goal. On the other side, Australia was in the 'group of death', and they lost to USA at the opening of the WC 1-3, defeated Nigeria 2-0 and in the last round played 1-1 against Sweden. These are excellent rivals and every match called for their maximum effort on the pitch. The first thing that leads to a game with less goals is the information that Brazil hasn't yet conceded on this tournament, while Australia conceded 4, three of which were against USA, one of the biggest favorites and selections with many quality players in the offense. The biggest quality of both teams lies in the midfield, they play the similar 4-3-3 formation, Australian trio Van Egmond-Kellond-Knight and Gorry has demonstrated great class in the matches against USA and Sweden, tactically they have players who can stop the best Brazilian player Marta.

Australia won their last head-to-head game (2-1), it was a friendly match, and their last official clash was in 2011, and Brazil won that game 1-0. I expect a game in which the winner will be decided by a result similar to that four years ago. Details

With their placement into the round of 16 of the World Championship, Cameroon exceeded their expectations and they've got nothing to lose int the playoffs. That's their first advantage unlike the "favorized" China who ended the group phase of the tournament at second place in the group with Canada, the Netherlands and New Zealand. Cameroon won six points in their group and also earned the second place next to Switzerland, Ecuador and Japan. The duel against Japan (in which they've lost 1-2) can be a great waypoint of Cameroon's quality, as well as their good preparation prior to today's knock-out match against China. Cameroon played the second match of the group phase with no respect, with a lot of running; they let the ball to the better Japan, but physically they weren't behind them. In that match Cameroon had 16 shots more (20-4) towards the goal, and four corners more than Japan (6-2). Although they were defeated, the great game had a good effect on their self-esteem, and in the decisive match against the favored Switzerland they won 2-1. They were lacking behind after the first half (0-1), but they scored a draw at the beginning of the second half. They didn't stop there and soon they took the lead which they managed to keep until the end of the match. They have players who play in French and Russian clubs, explosive players in the middle and in the offense. Oneguene is considered one of the best players of the first part of the championship. Cameroon's weak part is the defense; goalkeeper Ndom is one of the more experienced, but the two out of three goals Cameroon conceded in this World Championship are her fault.

After the first match and the defeat from Canada (0-1), China won in the last minutes of the match against the Netherlands (1-0), but in that match we saw an offensive China who had five to six more solid opportunities to score a goal. They had a similar approach against New Zealand (2-2) in which they've shown that they have certain weaknesses in their defense. Cameroon are a team who have nothing to lose, they stood up to Japan who are better than China; they will give the ball to China and force their counterattack tactics where their potential lies. They can come up with a surprise because China haven't played against an African team for a long time. I even see a possibility here for Cameroon. Maybe not for the final win, but definitely for at least one goal against China. Considering that they conceded a goal or two in the previous world championships as well against Asian and European teams, I see a value in the offer of seeing at least one goal on both sides in tonight's match. France went from being one of the main title contenders on this year's World Cup, to fighting for their dear life in the group and even their placement in the playoff could come into question if they lose today. After defeating England (1-0) in the second round of Group F, France suffered a shock and lost 0-2 against Colombia. A completely bad day for the entire French team, they approached the game as if it was a friendly match, and not a World Cup game, they completely underestimated their opponent and the statements of experts confirm that. After Colombian players said that their team is capable of beating France, reactions of the French players, journalists and media were filled with despise and mockery in the style of "No way, we're ten levels above you."

Well the joke's on them, France spent all their credits, there will be no underestimation or improvisation today. Without looking at the second round defeat, we can't escape the fact from this competition, and they are: France had 69% of ball possession after two games, 893 successful passes, 41 shots, nine of which were on the goal, only one goal scored, and complete domination in both games. There were some bad tactical decisions made by the French Coach (Henri didn't start in the second game against Colombia, and Amel Majri spent two consecutive games on the bench, even though she has an excellent season behind her), but the word is they will both be in the starting lineup against Mexico today. The last clash of these two teams was a friendly match at the end of 2011 and France won 5-0. There are 10 players from that French team here in this one, which says a lot about the continuity of their team. Since one of the possible epilogues is that France and England will have the same number of points after this round, the primary criterion is the goal difference and number of goals scored, and then the score from their match, which gives us room today to believe that France will not only win, but that it will be at least a goal more convincing. Russia has a great result from the first match, plus 2, as well as home court today, but it's not a team that can be connected with stability, calmness and concentration throughout the 60 minutes, on the contrary, they have proved the opposite in the past several years. From their collapse in the second leg game of the 2013 World Cup qualifications, through the game against Germany in the 2014 European Championship qualifications, to the very European Championship. Those 'black holes' of the Germans between the 3rd and 15th minute of the first game in which they failed to score a single goal will definitely not happen again, and the reason for that lies in themselves, the nervous start of the game, a lot of technical mistakes, but also in well set up Russian defense. Germany will be stronger today because back player Minevskaja is back, and with her their back line gets more quality, and coach Vestergaard announced that his team needs to focus on the offense. The point deficit from the first game can be compensated only by efficiency, and with this kind of offered margin against a team like Russia, who conceded less than 25 goals only in the last of ten games, the over of 24.5 is worth at least the set stake. It is true that the Hungarians already qualified for the World Cup after they won the first game by 13 goals, but even this win left the Hungarian coach partly unhappy with the way his players performed in the last 10 to 15 minutes of the game and his promise about today's game "that they will correct the drop from the end of the last game in this one". With that in mind, we can expect Hungary to score a lot of goals, and Austria and their coach Muller are ideal partners for that. Muller is aware that they cannot qualify for the World Cup, he knows that his defense is full of holes and he demands better offense in which he, in the first game, played a lineup with seven players without the goalkeeper, which is his favorite from Thuringer, but he lacks potential for such formation here and it was always punished by the Hungarians. In the first game, Hungary scored 32 goals already in the 51st minute of the game, and they scored only one goal in the last nine minutes, and also missed a seven meter throw shot before the end of the game. Austria conceded less than 30 goals only once this year, against not very good Turkey, in comparison to Hungarian 32. All this suggests that Hungary will be close to 35 goals in today's game. Details

Bulgaria has put together the best squad for this tournament, nine of their players are playing for foreign teams, the rest come from Bulgaria's best two clubs, Gaborovo and Etar 64. Of these playing abroad, several of them left a mark in their clubs, Dobreva is the best foreign player of the Italian League, Agova is one of the best players in Polish MKS Piotrcowia, Genkova played a good season in Roman from Romania, three players play in French second league teams. The biggest star of this team is 19-year-old Elisabet Omoregie, who playes in Slovenian Krim, and she scored 34 goals in the Champions League this season and she is one of the best players of this age group in Europe. Other than Omoregie, Gloria Pavlova also plays in Krim, and she had her debut in the Champions League this year. Bulgarian ambitions are two wins and qualifying for the second round of the qualifications. Bulgarian women's handball is in an upward trajectory and their first place on the last year's Challenge Trophy tournament proves that. They won the tournament in the competition of eight teams, by winning all five games, and they defeated Israel 34-23 in the finale. This Spring, the junior Bulgarian team suffered two defeats against Croatia and Slovenia, but they left a good impression in the company of the favorites. In the match against Slovenia, they were in the lead by 3 or 4 goals for a long time, but in the end they lost by 2 goals.

The last head-to-head game between Bulgaria and Faroe Islands happened in 2012 and Bulgaria won 36-27, and they are a much better team now. Faroe Islands are coming with a squad of players who play the semi-amateur national league, two players play in Denmark. One of them is 19-year-old Holm Jacobsen who plays for the Skanderborg handball academy, and she led the Faroe Islands junior team during qualifications this Spring, and some other players who played then are on the roster for these qualifications in Gabrov. Since only one team can advance in the qualifications, and Bulgaria and Azerbaijan are the main favorites, the goal difference has an important role. Details

This prediction is based on the inconsistency demonstrated by the Russians over the past few years, which is especially visible in their defense. These two national teams played a head-to-head game in the 2014 European Championship qualifications as well, and Germany defeated Russia at home 32-27, but then Russia won the next one 29-28. During the preparations for the mentioned European Championship, Russia played five friendly games, and the results were as follows: Romania (28-31, 20-28, 33-31), Netherlands (29-29, 25-27). At the 2014 European Championship, Russia lost to Spain (24-25), Poland (26-29) and drew with the Hungarians (29-29). Their only friendly game ahead of this qualification, Russia lost 23-27 against Montenegro, they conceded 15 goals at the half time, and if Adzic had pressured his team, they would probably concede over 30. We should mention that long time first goalkeeper Sidorova is not in the squad, and both goalkeepers, Sedoykina and Erohina, lack consistency. Since the axis of the team Dinamo from Volgogrod's players, we should mention that Dinamo scored total of 60 goals in their Champions League games against the German champion Thuringer.
Germany put together a wide player potential for these qualifications, quality back line, a new coach who will demand fast pace, and all that will open them the doors towards qualifying for the World Championship. This bet is widely available in betting houses as well. Details
