Nara doesn't have much experience on clay and that's the only reason for Peng being the favorite here. But, the fact remains the Japanese player has been working on her moving on clay and that she won Rio, while Peng has nothing. She reached the quarter final in Marrakesh by beating weak Jabeur and Zanevska. She lost to every even slightly more dangerous player. Her game is flaw-ridden, there's first and foremost her weak serving, and ups and downs. Consistency was always her strong suit, but lately, it's hasn't been good. The conditions in Madrid are slightly faster, which is better for Nara. She is more confident with her serving, and unlike Peng, has been injury free for a while. Peng has been complaining about her thigh injury lately. She lost the first round matches in Madrid three times, and I think she's closer to losing this time than the odds suggest. Details

Even though I'm not a fan of handicaps as women's tennis is known for numerous fluctuations, I think today's match will end quickly. Muguruza has found her form in Marrakesh and has played great in last two matches and had assured serve. This tournament is played at 1,500 meters and the ball is a bit more difficult to control but these conditions sit Muguruza who takes her time creating the chance and then finishes the point without too much risk. Taking into consideration what the two players have shown, I think Muguruza will end this match soon. While she has had an impressive serve so far, Peer's situation is quite the opposite. Two days ago, she played against Mayr a player who prefers fast tennis. Peer struggled with her serve and offered 19 break chances in 17 games, with 10 double faults. In addition, she has shown to be one-dimensional when it comes to rallies and this will not go well against Muguruza. Unlike Mayr, Muguruza has more consistency and quality and should be a sure winner in this match. Details

The difference in quality between these two players is just too big. Rita Atik has lost against much weaker players than Zanevska. She is still young and inexperienced and doesn't have enough power in her serve or strokes nor does she have enough consistency in her rallies. First, she managed to win only four games against Kuzmova at the start of this season, and Kuzmova is not even in Top 1000 players and then she got the same number of games against Zhu. Zanevska is one level above both mentioned players. In addition, she has had three qualification matches and will not have any problems adapting to the conditions. Atik got only two games against Cabeza Candela in Marrakesh qualifications, which makes me even more assured of this bet. Zanevska has shown progress in this new season and should end this match very quickly. The bookies have set a good margin for the total number of games, but a bet for 6-0 in the first set also has considerable value. Details

Cadantu has flopped in the first part of the season and that's an undeniable fact. However, I see her as a convincing winner here. First of all, this match is played on clay, her favorite surface. Her game is based on consistency and long rallies while Van Uytvanck relies on her serve and strong strokes. Marrakesh is played at an altitude of 1500 meters which makes controlling the ball and the strokes all the more difficult. I think the odds were affected by the fact that Cadantu was defeated by Mladenović in these conditions last season. True, she wasn't brilliant then but I'm convinced that her poor performance was affected by her later arrival to Marrakesh and not having the time to adapt. She knew what to expect this year and how to play in these conditions. On the other hand, all of this is unknown to young Van Uytvanck. She is not consistent enough in normal conditions so one can expect more mistakes from her here. She is a good young player who relies on faster surfaces. Cadantu's consistency should be enough in these conditions to give her a convincing win. Details

Radwanska did a great first round match, no doubt about it. But, we need to say that she also had a prefect opponent. Soler-Espinoza's shots don't have enough power, she's a passive player, which is just perfect for Radwanska. This will, however be a different match. She's facing a much more aggressive player now. Radwanska's serving was not as good in Katowice already, and that will definitely get obvious against Torro-Flor. The Spanish player was quite nervous in her first match against Urszula, but that was expected taking into consideration the fact she hasn't played for a while. More importantly, she managed to get the right pace for her shots and that comeback against Urszula gave her additional burst of confidence. Radwanska will definitely be better in rallies than her sister, but I think Torro-Flor can stand up to her. She will take initiative and the outcome will first and foremost depend on her. That is what makes the 6-game counter-handicap a great option since - Radwanska will have to try a lot to beat the Spaniard more convincingly. Details

I don't see why Stephens' win would pay with just 1.5. The American player is ranked much better and she's in Top 20, but with women, the momentum and the current form are a lot more important, and that's definitely on Garcia's side. Stephens had three consecutive defeats, and after the last one, the media attacked her. Fans publicly shamed her for not even trying on the court. She could hardly play any worse against Duque-Marino, she wasn't good in either segment of the game, service, forehand, movements. She lost faith in her game and her hits and I don't think she'll gain her self-confidence back that soon. On the other hand, Garcia is a rising star. She showed good game against Sharapova in French Open a few years ago, and now she's completely mature. She has a great service and strong hits, and she can end points quickly, but also play long exchanges, since she spent a good deal of her career on clay. She won her first title, and that will definitely encourage her more. Stephens is not a player who plays well under pressure. The only match in singles, she lost to Arvidsson last year, and she admitted she plays badly when she's nervous. Garcia has advantage of her service and more faith in her hits, which should be enough to take the initiative and bring advantage for the French player. Details

I really don't see how the USA are the favorite against France. They did have enough time to prepare but Keys and Stephens have been out of real form for a while. This particularly refers to Stephens who was criticized by the fans and the media after her failure in Bogota. Even though she will be motivated in the Fed Cup, the question is how she handles the pressure. Judging by her history, that pressure will make her job more difficult. The form of Madison Keys doesn't speak in favor of the hosts either. Just like Stephens she failed in the only Fed Cup match when she won only a handful of games against Giorgi. She admitted she succumbed to pressure and that she was too passive in rallies. On the other hand, the Frenchwomen could not be in better form for the Fed Cup. Garcia has conquered Bogota while Cornet got her first title on hard court in Katowice. Both have been impressive and have had enough time to adapt to new conditions. Cornet herself said ahead of the match against Keys that the atmosphere in perfect and that it's much easy to await for a new match when she's in great form. Garcia's performance in doubles tournament in Bogota also speaks in favor of this bet as she won the title in that part of the competition as well. Cornet and Garcia have a different style but I'm sure they can put France through. Cornet is too consistent for Stephens and Keys, while Caroline will get at least one win. Details

Before the match against Mayr, I was a bit skeptical regarding young Donna. However, she showed great progress in her performances and she beat Mayr in two sets. Vekić is assured on her serve as she has won over 70% of her points in Kuala Lumpur through it. In addition, she has shown great composure in break situations and has saved 24 out of 33. She has saved most with excellent serve and it is clear that she is brimming with confidence and she believes in her serve and strokes. She took the initiative against Mayer, and for the first time in a while, her movement was excellent and she got chances on her return very easily. In addition. She didn't make the mistakes on her forehand like in previous rounds and she avoided backhand rallies. Even though she has a lot of room for improvement, Donna is playing better and better with each match. Zhand, on the other hand, managed to make use of Linette's inexperience. True, she played great tennis in the third set but the reason for that also lies in Linette's farcical misses that made her frustrated after conceding a one-break advantage in the last set. Unlike some of her previous opponents, Vekić will find a way to win "cheap" points as her first serve has been working out really great. I think that Donna doesn't deserve to be the "underdog" in this match as she has shown much more than Zhang. Details

The total-number-of-games margin is at least one game short. Jankovic did nothing to deserve to be the favorite here. Her game is not impressive, and as she said it herself, she's still adjusting to the conditions. She was lucky to have played a less-experienced player who wasn't able to use the break chances Jelena offered. On the other hand, Vevino beat Ormaeche and improved her record in Bogota at 11-1. Last year, she said that it's a pity more tournaments didn't take place at high elevations. Her serving was good so far, and I don't see why that wouldn't happen again. I'm convinced Vecino can stand up to Jankovic in the rallies, and I expect a match much closer than the odds suggest. Details

Even though over is a solid option, the Wildcats were embarrassed last time they had an away game against the 36ers and so I decided for a safer option. Adelaide 36ers have disappointed and impressed me at the same time in the last game. They managed to lose by a decent margin and fight till the very end despite the fact that they allowed the Wildcats get 20 offensive rebounds. Instead of repeating good recipe in defense where Petrie and Gibson double-man Ennis in the paint, the 36ers' coach decided to change the approach and Ennis made great use of that. However, he will face a much more difficult task in an away game. Both teams are great in the paint and I expect the 36ers to dominate this aspect. In Perth, they were too impressed with the atmosphere while they're a different team at home. They have shown on several occasion that they can handle the Wildcats. The arena has been sold out in less than three hours, great atmosphere is expected and I wouldn't be surprised if the 36ers repeat their performance from the semi-finals when they crushed the Tigers. I don't see a scenario in which they could lose at home and I think everything above 1.6 is worth the shot. Details

Even though Tomljanović had a real drama in the first round, I believe she is underestimated here. She was recently defeated by Zhang in three sets and a lot has changed since. The surface has changed as Zhang didn't move too well against Hsieh. more importantly, she injured her shoulder in Acapulco and has had a much slower serve and has been offering more break chances ever since. This injury has affected her forehand as she feels the pain with her normal strokes so she is playing in fear of repeating her injury. While she got less than 50% of points after the first serve against Hsieh, Tomljanović had 72% against Goerges and the serve is the main reason for this bet. The Croatian player does not offer too many break chances in most of her games while she will have plenty of break chances in Zheng's serve. Despite the fact that most of her recent wins have come in three sets, the margin for this handicap is too low, and when you factor in the circumstances, I think it's worth a medium to high stake. The Melbourne Tigers are too underrated in this match. They had a chance to surprise the 36ers in the first game, but came up short. They already showed great progress in the second match, especially on defense. Although Anstey criticized his players for poor performance in the paing, the Tigers did a great job defending the three point shots while themselves doing very well from distance. Apart from a big morale boost, one more factor favors the away team. Namely, Ervin's suspension deprived the 36ers of their starting point guard and best player on the team. Apart from scoring double digit figures on offense, Ervin was excellent on defense as well, which will make him practically impossible to replace. Goulding on the other hand is in incredible form, so Ervin's absence will open more room for Tomilson, and him as well. The away team have a big psychological advantage and can parry the 36ers in every segment of the game. When we add Ervin's injury to that, it's clear the Tigers are much closer to victory than the odds suggest. Details

It's nothing strange that Ajla is the favorite in this match despite her weaker ranking than that of Voegele. True, Stefanie has has had some success in Charleston but that's her only advantage here. She is in very poor form and is lacking confidence. Her performance on the return has been especially poor as she forces things too much and gets very few chances. On the other hand, Ajla is in good form. Even though she has some weak spots, like poor performance on the net and somewhat slower movements, she manages to make up for it. She is assured on her serve and consistent in rallies. I believe her consistency will decide the winner and Voegele has shown lack of patience in longer rallies. But her biggest challenge lies in the fact that this is her first time in Charleston. However, I am sure that she will soon adapt and she should like these conditions. That's why I expected the odds to be at 1.6 which makes these odds worth a medium stake.

I think the bookmakers once again got carried away with the odds on total points. although the Hawks haven't scored 85 points in Perth since 2008, I think they don't even need to for the game to go over this margin. The Wildcats easily went through the Hawks' defense every time they met this season, and scored 86 and over in each of those matches. However, I'm not basing this purely on statistics. The Hawks tried to focus more on defense and build slower possessions on offense in their last league game, and the result was a disaster. Now you can read Martin's statement like they will try to impose a faster pace and attack the Wildcats before they set up a defense. They also spoke about more penetration towards the basket, to get more free throws, and Tiggs and Martin have the quality to do it. Clarke's shooting form also speaks in favor of this bet, but so does the home team's form too. The Wildcats are the best three-point-shooting team of the league, and have been extremely effective from the perimeter over the last few games.Hawks already admitted, several times, that the only way for them to get positive results is to play faster and more offense oriented basketball. Their two away games vs Wildcats can't serve as a benchmark, as they missed too many easy shots in both. The stakes are much higher now, and we can hardly expect another disastrous shooting night for the away team, who also have a plan B. All things considered, I don't see this as an under 170 points game. Details

Even though this is a semi-final game, the margin for total number of points set the by the bookies is ridiculous to say the least. True, the Tigers do score only 81 points on average, but this average has increased to 90 points in the last 5 games, while the 36ers have been on this average throughout the season. Both teams prefer fast and aggressive basketball on account on their poor defense. Ervin and Johnson are great in fast transition but their opponents go past them very easily and the situation is almost identical for the away team. Adelaide 36ers have tried to stop the Tigers in their last game by putting them under pressure across the court but they still conceded 94 points and that was a game in which Goulding wasn't too motivated. Anstey was furious t his players for lack of defensive commitment but they just don't have the solution for the fast transition of the 36ers. Head-to-heads also speak in favor of this bet as their four games this season have seen an average of 180 points. Seeing how we are expecting an even tighter game, we should not rule out the possibility of this game being decided by the free throws. The stakes re high and I don't think either coach will experiment too much in offense. Because of that, we can expect another efficient game in which the offense will decide the winner. Details

Cibulkova has shown a much better performance in Miami than the Pole. Radwanska opened her tournament with a doubtful knee and was unsure in the first matches. Even though her performances have improved, she was far from impressive in the last match against Svitolina. She was powerless in her rallies and often didn't show much courage to rush the net. The injury has obviously affected her confidence. In addition, it has frustrated her so badly that she broke her racket. This just shows that she is not calm and consistent, which was her trait in previous seasons. On the other hand, Cibulkova played a very good match against Venus. Her deep and strong strokes prevented Venus from taking control and allowed her to finish the points with ease. Even though she was not too assured on her serve, the credit for that goes to Venus who did great on the return. Cibulkova allowed Radwanska to get only three games at the Australian Open. If you factor in the confidence and the circumstances around Radwanska's knee, I think Cibulkova is certainly much closer to a win here which is definitely worth a medium stake, considering the odds. Na Li has shown great performances in Indian Wells but she was stopped in the semi-finals by Pennetta. This is not the case in Miamo as she played against Keys a lot worse than it was expected. She went into strong rallies from the baseline where Keys had the advantage. However, her experience and better performance in crucial moments gave her the win. On the other hand Suarez Navarro has shown great serve in Miami. She beat Scheepers with some conviction and then been Kanepi with even more, and she often struggled against the latter player. She showed excellent serve in those matches and had much better performances in the rallies. She is focused and motivated on the court and you can see that. Just like the Chinese, she hits the ball very early and that doesn't give her opponents too much time. Because of that, I believe we will see a much more even match than the odds suggest. Suarez can hold on to her serve and she has shown a much better performance than her opponent in those rallies. I am convinced she can put up a really solid resistance and might even surprise some players. Details

Radwanska covered this handicap in all of their last four head to head matches. So why choose a counter-handicap this time? -Because the Pole is experiencing some problems with her knee. It is preventing her from moving properly. Despite moving well against Oprandi, her serving in the second set was slightly less convincing, which could have been caused by her knee problems. Besides, she didn't have a proper training session ahead of this match, since she focused on healing the knee. On the other hand, Vesnina recorded a convincing win against Riske. She won a lot of service points, and managed to take initiative and end the rallies quickly as planned. She later won the doubles match as well, which will surely give her an additional boost of confidence. I think that opting for a counter-handicap is a great here since Vesnina will manage to take advantage of slightly less mobile Radwanska to make the match more exciting. She should win a lot of easy points on account on her serve, and this margin simply seems one game too high, given Radwanska's injury. Details

Zahlavova had an excellent introduction for this match in the first round against Niculescu. Just like Vinci, Niculescu uses her slices to look for the mistakes of her opponents and to give herself more space. However, Zahlavova managed to beat the Romanian player despite some poorer stats on her serve. In my opinion, she's facing an even easier task. Vinci is not lacking any confidence and has been passive in her rallies lately. Zahlalova has enough quality in her strokes to go through her backhand side and she has had more time to adapt than Vinci who has been in Miamoi only for past three days. The Italian has won all four head-to-head but Zahlavova matched her for at least a set in each match. Now, I expect more from here and I think Zahlalva is closer to winning this match than the odds suggest. Details

A 173-point margin in a completely irrelevant game in which the second most efficient team in the league is playing. I think the bookmakers have made a mistake when setting the margins for this game. The last two ended in 174 points and 179, but I expect this to go to at least 180. Bruton and Wilkinson are saying farewell to the team. The arena is sold out, there will be a whole show so the players will want to turn this into a spectacle for the fans. Bruton will get more time and this means he will guard Wilson. That's just a bonus for this bet as Wilson scored 33 points against him in the last game. Wilson is much faster in offense and can easily get past Bruton but he is also poor in defense. In addition, the Taipans will want to salvage what they can from this season so we can expect them to take more shots for three points as they are among the top teams in the league in this respect. The game holds no importance in terms of result and entertainment and attractive basketball will be the main focus. In this game, I expect the Breakers to go over the 100-point margin once again and say farewell to their star player in a right way. Details
