Villarreal got back in the race for spot 4 and coach Escriba is now trying to calm the euphoria

Las Palmas played one of their typical games in Barcelona against Espanyol. They played an offense-oriented game, had much greater possession and left the opponents with a lot of space. In the end we saw a total of 7 goals and a 4-3 win for the home team. That defeat saw Las Palmas slip into spot 12. At least the fans can enjoy their games.

We saw 20 goals in the last three Las Palmas games. Quique Setien is happy with his team's performances:

- I think my team is playing a truly spectacular game but we need more experience to get better results. Minor mistakes often cost us better results and that is all down to experience. We just got in the league this season and we cannot stand up to the teams who have been in Primera for 20 years. In any case, we want to keep this up. That is the only way for us to get the necessary experience and results. 

Roque Mesa and Marko Livaja are no longer suspended. The midfielder should get the start in the lineup, the Croatian forward most likely on the bench.

Villarreal started doing much better since that bad defeat to Roma in Europa League. They are on a 3-game winning run in the Spanish league. Last weekend, they took advantage of Celta's focus on Europa League to get back from Vigo with a narrow win. Villarreal got back in the race for Champions League and are now 4 points short of Atletico.

The results are great, but Fran Escriba warns:

- I was under a lot of criticism lately but now, all of the sudden, there is a lot of euphoria. It's nice to be optimistic and believe  in your potential but I want my players to get away from that euphoria. We don't need that. I don't want to talk about any long-term goals. I am focused on Las Palmas and how to get back from the Canaries with a good result. They can be a threat for anyone and we'll get in trouble if we let them play their game.

There's no news regarding Villareal when it comes to injuries. Denis Cerisev, who has been injured more than not this season, is back on the injury list and won't be back on the team until mid-April. The Roberto Soldado situation is quite similar. He has started playing again recently but since Escriba has Bakambu and Soldado, there should be no problems. Goal keeper Asenjo is injured but Fernandez has proved to be a great substitute for him.
