Kiel without Duvnjak and Weinhold

Lowen could have done much more in the first game. They had a 6-goal lead (19-3), controlled the game but in the end finished with just a one-goal win thanks to the brilliant performance by goal keeper Palicka. Kiel displayed character, though decimated, and managed to make a comeback. 

- This is out first final of the season. It will be incredibly difficult but we want to make it into QFs - Niklas Landin said. 

The problem for him and the players is the health situation, which not only is not better than in the first gamem it's actually worse. Weinhold is out again, just like Duvnjak. There is some change for Toft Hansen to make a comeback on the team. They managed to beat Hannover against without the three of them and looking at what their saying, the team is pretty united. The injuries got their team spirit high and even though there were serious problems against zone without Duvnjak, it also brought them a huge boost of confidence. 

- That win means a lot to us. A one-goal difference is nothing in handball. It's still 50-50 - Vujin said. He was team's top scorer against Hannover with 8 goals. 

Unlike Kiel, who struggled in Hannover, Lowen had a really easy game against Lemgo. They tried as hard as it was necessary and scored 33 goals. Valur scored 11, De Rietz 5.

Schmid suffered a minor injury and Jacobsen spared him. The coach said he was good to continue but they decided to rest him a bit. He also spared some of the other players (Pekeler, Pattersson, Du Rietz). For the first time this season, Lowen rested players in Budesliga, focusing on Champions League. Kiel are always something special.

- I was dead after the Kiel game - Du Rietz said.

- The guys were tired after Wednesday, we couldn't do much at practice sessions - Jacobsen said. They are clearly going full throttle and this will be no different. 

He said his guys were tired in the last part of the game, especially Du Rietz-Petersson-Pekeler. He said they will try and rest them a bit during the game to have them as fresh as possible in the final part. 

Let's just add that Jabosen said he doesn't entirely believe in Duvnjak not playing...

- They said he needs surgery but that he will also play important games. We'll see how it goes. 

Around 9,000 tickets were sold by the day before yesterday. In spite of tomorrow being a week day, Lowen will have massive support.
