Cuevas aware of his weaker performances

Even though he managed to defend the title in Brazil and won the two-day final, Cuevas was rather critical of his game. Klizan is still a landmine that can go off at any moment. He's been improving lately

He had a lot of points to defend last week but ended up losing to De Greef in what was a very nervous match. He went on to Sao Paolo to make amends by getting a new title. He was far from a top performance in the two-day final, which he finished with an underhand second serve. 

- It was not that convincing this season. I had to make a comeback in a few matches. As for the last serve, I did it because I couldn't get the second serve in. I had 12 double faults. I just wanted to avoid another one.

Klizan

He's been doing well recently to record straight QFs, put up a good fight against Djokovic and beat Monteiro, whose game bears some similarity to Cuevas'. 

The Slovak lost the second round at last three Indian Wells tournaments.
