Next to France, Polan are the main candidates for the Olympic pass, but in preparation matches they weren't convincing and thus I'm not sure that they can easily break a team as strong as Canada. They only beat Belgium with 3-1, but they've lost to Bulgaria and Serbia with 2-3. Here in Japan they lost to Iran 1-3 in the last try-outs. True, Poland are a strong team, but these preparations weren't the best and it's hard to expect them to beat the ones they should now that it's needed. Last year Canada was bad in the World Cup in Japan, but now things turned for the better and they look like they stand a chance here. Schmitt is ready, Winters is out, but they have receivers Perrin, Hoagg and Van Lankvelt who had a good season with their clubs. In this first match everything is possible, so Poland are being favored too much. Last year at the World Cup in Japan, Poland won with 3-1, but Canada were without Schmitt at the time and the tournament they played was bad in general, so here they stand a good chance to win a set, and then this margin should go into an over.
