Wozniak only played one match after the Fed Cup

The Canadian played only one match in over a month, and lost to a player out of Top 300. Putintseva doesn't always just depend on her own game, but she can be happy about her season so far, as well as her draw here

Putintseva's got a good season so far and is almost in the Top 50. She got two quarterfinals, one semis, Australian Open and Indian Wells' third round, and these successes got her on her way to the elite rank. But, there are a few things missing to take an even further step. 

First of all, strength in her tennis because she often makes herself inferior. For example, against Fridman last week, and Georges knew how to punish that. So, she can't really prove herself against stronger players. True, strength is not something you can build easily, but with a different approach to the hits, that can be improved, because she reminds us of Cibulkova with her game style and the way she's built.

Wozniak struggled with injuries in the last seasons. She started the last year's one in the summer, and this season isn't really great, either. She started playing WTA tournaments in Australia and realized she can't fit in anymore, so she went to the ITF. She played the qualifiers and got to the quarterfinal and second round, but those wins aren't really worth the mention. She lost both matches in the duel against Slovakia, but she only played one match after that, and lost to a player out of Top 300.

- It was a tough road lately. But my passion and my faith got me back to the best players in Paris where the magic happens in Roland Garros - the Canadian said a few days ago.

Wozniak probably got to the main draw here with a protected ranking because she didn't get an invite, and there's no other option. But, what can she do now and how far can she go - it remains to be seen. She didn't play a single match in the last month, and no matter how hard we tried, we couldn't find why that was the case.
