Aarau prove they have what it takes to win games

For now, Aarau seem like a decent league team and they successfully adapted to Super liga. They already celebrated in an away game against Lausanne

New league club Aarau are for now doing quite well in the elite rank of Swiss football. So far they gave mostly very good and attractive games, with a style quite unfavourable for rookies. Rather little attention is devoted to the defensive part of their game, which is why they have problems with conceding goals, but at least they try to achieve more in the attack.

In the last round they surprised Zurich and took all three points, which is their third win this season, and they finally managed to escape the bottom of the table. Earlier they already celebrated in an away game against Lausanne.

- We had a bit of luck, but we did not steal the win in any case. My team showed courage, aggression and the right approach and were rewarded for it, but now we have to turn to our next match - said manager Weiler who has no problems with absent players.

Lausanne still seems helpless, but this is old news. Had they not been so lucky last season when Xamax dropped out of the competition, Sion were deducted points and Servette were affected by the financial crisis, they would've been relegated a long time ago.

Realistically, they lack quality, as evidenced by the simple maths of nine League rounds and eight defeats so far. Their only point was snatched from Grasshoppers with a great deal of luck, because on that day they missed even the impossible.

What will be hard to fix, as it is a matter of psychological barriers in players, is scoring. For years they've been struggling with scoring goals and even creating goal chances. Only 5 goals this season are a witness to that.

To make matters worse, today a lot of pressure is on them, more specifically on manager Roussey, who  in the last round was already walking on the edge, and now club president Joseph decided :

- I'll meet him after the game and analyse the whole situation. I have not called any of the candidates on this issue.

Defender Yaya Banana is suspended for this game and striker Tafer is still injured.

Aarau may be a recently-promoted team compared to Lausanne that has plenty of experience in the top division, but at the moment it seems as the home team has a slight advantage. They have an aggressive and eye-catching game, they score a lot and try to play creatively even against teams such as Basel or Grasshoppers. Today, they go into the match as a strong favorite, just as they like because it'll allow them to control the game completely. Lausanne, to be honest, is not a team that can compete at this level and they've proven it by recording 8 defeats in 9 games so far. Their away statistics is even worse. They've lost all their away matches and scored only two goals in five matches. Their bunker style of play won't be of any assistance here given the fact that Aarau has a great attacking game. Furthermore, Aarau defeated Lausanne three rounds ago in an away game so another great game by Aarau's players against a powerless opponent is expected.
