    Even before the tournament began, it was obvious that Macedonia and Faroe Islands will be playing each other to decide who goes to the EC. That is now true, both were crushed by Hungary, beat the weak Moldavia, and those matches have nothing to do with this one.
    Macedonia didn't play many games with this team, only the EC two years ago where they were the host and still lost everything. In seven games, they didn't score over 23 - 23 and 22 against Czech, 17 Slovakia, and the last two were for the placement. While getting ready for this tournament, they only had 16 against Montenegro.
    Faroe Islands allowed 24 to Iceland and 25 to Czech in the home qualifier games two years ago, and those two teams are better than this Hungary, they even kept Russia at 23. They had a similar roster at the European Open last year, and left a decent impression - Czech at 11 goals in 40 minutes, Austria at 16 and Iceland at 17 in games of 50 minutes. This game means so much to both team so I expect them to fight for it from the start, and the defenses to dominate. I think the Faroeans are underestimated here. Macedonia under 25.5 is the best pick here. Details

    ABA league is priority for Zvezda, they knew that since the season began, and the coach Dejan Radonjić clearly said so when announcing the game. No way they're going to relax, they've got to win this to secure the Euroleague, and they won't even think about the quarterfinal. Zvezda are the best team defensively, with Lazić, Jović and Jenkins pressuring Williams, and without him, Budućnost are in trouble, as was obvious in the last game. Williams played the first half very well, was out in the second, and Budućnost hit only 21 points in the second 20 minutes. Zvezda covered this handicap in both their duels this season, and they covered this in home games against much stronger teams in the Euroleague, like Cedevita. Budućnost didn't do well against strong defensive teams, Unicaja, Bayern in Eurocup, and I think things are working on Zvezda's side here, and they will cover the handicap. Details

    This season Canarias are the biggest surprise of the ACB League and the Champions League. They're playing outside of all expectations, and primarily that's thanks to their defense. In Spain they allow only 71 points per games, and in the Champions League they're better with 66 allowed points per game. Their offense doesn't even have to be great, so in one competition they don't even have 80 points on average. These numbers are even more impressive in important games. Against Real it was 139 and 145 points, Gran Canaria 130, Barcelona 131, Baskonia 145, just like Unicaja. The only game against the strong opponents which went for over was at the opening of the season in an away game against Gran Canaria with 170 points. Against today's opponents, Valencia, in the first leg it was 132 points. Valencia aren't as perfect when this numbers are questioned, but they're the second best defense in Spain (75 allowed points per game), and the second best defense of Eurocup (74 allowed points per game). They accepted the fast tempo against the bet teams (Real 156 points, Barca 176, Unicaja 174), but at the time their roster was complete and they could keep the pace for 40 minutes. Today they're without their first two plays and back-up centers and Martinez won't ask them to rush. Besides, they're arriving here after two difficult games against Hapoelo, and surely they don't need something run and gun. Moreover because today Van Rosso and Martinez are the plays, which guarantees organized and well set game. Since they got into injury struggles the games with Hapoelo were at 145 and 151 points, and with Baskonia at 134 points. Crushing of Fuenlabrada and Khimki at home won't be mentioned here because they're teams who rush without thinking, and Valencia pulverized them. They won't do that today against the best defense of the league, and that's why I'm convinced this will remain at the low 70 points on both sides. What favors the bet is the fact that this is the fight for the first place and surely no one will relax and save themselves for the upcoming Euro games. Details

    BSK and Fyllingen are two teams of similar style, and that's clearly seen in their statistics. Here we're talking about two best offenses of the league. BSK on average record 30.8, Fyllingen 30.1, and when we mention defense, Fyllingen are a bit weaker with 27.1 allowed goals compared to BSK's 26.8. The statistic of the goal sum is: BSK at 57.5, Fyllingent at 57.1. So, it's clear how both teams play. The tempo is fast-paces, especially with BSK, while Fyllingen compensate that by playing with seven players, which brings results against most of the opponents. The first head-to-head was at 56, 29 was by half-time, even though Fyllingen recorded a single goal in the first five minutes. We have to mention that BSK had a black hole in the last 10 minutes, so that influenced the final total goal number, otherwise it would be closer to 60. Today we again have the 55 goals margin, but if BSK and Fyllingen play the way they know how, it's definitely going to be an over. As for the games against similar opponents, the fact is that there isn't many. Maybe we could take Haslum into consideration with whom BSK went to 60 and 61, and Fyllingen 65 and 65, and then there's OIF against whom both teams went well over the margin. Details

    Barcelona are currently with no confidence, and when they play a top game, Llull happens at the last second. The lack of confidence is seen in the offense. Rice is out of everything, defensively they're showing good things, but I think they can lay confidence in that. Here we'll go for a half-time under at 77.5.
    They played two head-to-heads so far, the league one at 70 points (Joventut 39-31), the Catalonian league finals, which is an introduction to the start of the season, 59 points (Barca 36-23).
    In the last 11 league games Barca have four overs and seven unders. The overs are explainable: beating Zs by Zaragoza, Manresa and Obradorio 51-34, 55-41, 55-40 and the away game against Real. So, nothing is a minus for today's pick, these three teams are in the relegation zone.
    In Euroleague in the last 12 games they have 10 unders, the overs were Milano and the home falling apart against Basconia. Again, nothing important for today. Under Diego Ocampo, Joventut have improved in the defense. And the numerous head-to-heads from previous seasons were at small numbers.
    Joventut stood up to Unicaja, Valencia, they played at home against Real, so the assumption is that they won't fall apart here, which suggests the rise of quota for Barca. Joventut have been in a half-time under in the last five home league games (Estudiantes 75, Murcia 62, Andorra 70, Real 75, Zaragoza 76). Out of the last 11 in the league they have two overs, the away games against Fuenlabrada and Gran Canaria, totally unimportant for today. The last week it was 67 against Unicaja.
    And for the end, as a little plus, I'll add that Bartzokas left Faverani out of the team, which is a plus for the defense becaue with him in the game, the defense never made it (the second quarter against Dacka a few days ago 9-32, the remaining three at 24, 30 and 28 points). Details

    By being defeated yesterday by Switzerland, Belarus lost all chances to pass, while Portugal depend on themselves, and they need to win with XX points of difference in order to earn the first place and EC.
    Recently Switzerland won with 18 points of difference and now they're at +26. Portugal beat Georgia with 19 and here they need eight goals of difference (seven if they record 36).
    Belarus are physically weak, they played for 35 minutes as equals against Georgia, yesterday they convincingly lost to Switzerland, and despite being equal to Switzerland in the first round, if you ask me, Portugal are a bit stronger than Switzerland. They had 25-20 in the first head-to-head, and then they stayed without goals in the last 10 minutes. Here they'll fight from the first second, defensively they're solid and they will surely press Belarus without mercy. Details

    If this was the start of the tournament, the handicap would probably be 6-7 for the Swedes. Now, it's -1.5 because Serbia beat the Czech by 10 and Austria by two. But comparing them to the Swedes and coming up with +1.5 isn't realistic.
    Sweden beat the Czech by six in the first game, leaving them at 13 goals. Then they were a bit more relaxed against Austria (the coach said so), seeing that the Austrlians lost to Serbia. Sweden were up by five, but missed a lot of safe hits and the game was evened out. The Austrians started biting and it was decided with a single hit. The Swedish coach said that they're going to try and beat Serbia here and I can't agree with the odds being evened out. The Swedes played the World championship quarterfinal last year, and then beat Croatia by 5 in the playoff. Serbia lost the prep games to Croatia in January, 21-17 and 27-12. Serbia didn't play any big competitions, and Sweden won the European Open before the WC last year, by beating Netherlands and Denmark in the semifinal and final, so those that are in the top of the sport (Russia and Spain in the second round).
