Bogota is a special tournament as it's played in conditions far from ideal for this sport. Everyone struggles with estimating how the ball will bounce at the altitude of 2500 meters, which is why qualifiers have the upper hand. Demoliner was not even your averagely good challenger player. He is a good doubles player now, he made it into Top 80 and recently played Wimbledon third round. He reached main draw through qualifying rounds here. He struggled to adjust in the first round but then played very convincingly. He beat Chiudinelli in straight sets and that was a big surprise. Even though Marchenko has been having a very good season he's far from someone who wins by routine. The matches in which he was a heavy favorite are particularly interesting. He has 9 overs and 3 unders at this margin in matches when the odds are 1.25 or less at him. He is simply playing tough matches with everyone. He forced Karlovic into a third set tie-break in Newport and played third set tie-break with underdog Kruger a week ago. Bogota is very tricky, especially in one's opening match. I expect that the Brazilian will be a tough nut to break. I think he'll get a set but Marchenko should win in the end. It will not be easy and the margin is set too low. Details

First of all, I have to say that I don't think Kyrgios will play tomorrow. The media went hard on him for the reckless things he said and the way he behaved on the court. He really seemed to be without confdence on Friday. He managed to break Nedovyesov only once despite him not being a top server. The Australian later said that he was not ready mentally and things will be even worse now. On the other hand, Kukushink is playing his best tennis in Davis Cup. Tournament form has nothing to do with that. He already beat the Italians twice in straight sets and now beat Kokkinakis convincingly. The visitors came to Darwin before the home team. They're a great team that's been doing well in Davis Cup for years now. It's no wonder Kukushkin is doing this well here. I think he will win here, which is why the handicap goes with higher stakes. I repeat; I think the coach will send someone else, Hewitt would be the logical choice but if he managed to take a chance with Kyrgios, we have a great bet. Even if the Australian manages to do better, he will have a tough time recording the win. He struggled the first day and now has to win to keep his team in the race for semifinals. Details

Cilic's score against Djokovic is 0-12, but it demonstrates more of a mental differences than difference in playing quality. We should go back a year. Djokovic and Cilic also played the quarterfinal here and Marin said before the match that if he has a chance anywhere, than it's on grass-court. The reason is his aggressiveness and serve that has become the Croat's main capital since he started working with Ivanisevic. Cilic took a 2-1 lead in sets, but he didn't win because the mental segment got involved. Their last two head-to-head matches are not relevant, but they probably influenced the odds, which is good for us. Cilic played at the Masters with an injured shoulders, and in Monte Carlo this year he was unfit for such a strong match right after the late start of the season, also because of the shoulder. Marin took a set even at Roland Garros, and he didn't play very good then. The story is simple. Cilic is not very far from Djokovic quality-wise, he has shown that on several occasions. They both admitted it, but he lacks confidence when he's finds himself in the situation that he close to win. That's the consequence of numerous defeats, authority, Ivanisevic convinced us that Cilic can win Wimbledon with the new approach. That was before the US Open, when no one believed him. Now Marin has a Grand Slam title under his belt, and his confidence must be greater. As far as this year's performances on Wimbledon, Cilic wasn't quite brilliant, but we should consider his statements. Three opponents he didn't know well, and against whom he was the favorite. He was never a routine player. He is one of those player who play better when he's the underdog on paper. I think this is a great bet. Even if he loses the first two sets, Cilic will play more relaxed, and in those situations, he really is a World Class player. That's how he won a set at Roland Garros, and he wasn't very confident there. He is confident here because he had the 2-1 in sets. If someone can make a good mental preparation, that's Ivanisevic. I have no fears concerned with playing. He can win here with his quality and style. Anderson had a 2-0 lead in sets with aggressive game and he has less options than Cilic. Monte Carlo is no measure. Cilic was in a different situation back then. He was focused more on his shoulder, and he is not very confident on clay. He said himself that it's his weakest surface. Honestly, I still can't believe that we have such a good odds on Cilic winning a set. Novak will probably win again, but he will hardly win in straight sets. Finally, if Marin has a chance to end the losing record anywhere, then it's here in Wimbledon. Everyone agreed on that even before last year when he had a 2-1 lead in sets. The bet is on WillHill's 'To win a set' under the 'set betting' section. Details

Karlovic lost to Murray here three years ago. I don't remember ever seeing him as furious as he was after that match. The reason for his anger were 11 foot faults called when he was serving, mostly at important moments. I'm not going to go into who was right, that's not important now, but Ivo was angry because he know what kind of a chance he had. Even like that, seething with anger, he managed to get a set. Now, Karlovic is doing much better now. He became the first player ever to record more than 40 aces in three back-to-back matches and didn't lose any service points in three tie-breaks against Tsonga. He's done a great job mentally. What I like most about him is his style, which is similar to Raonic's. That means he takes a lot of risk on return and his forehand is better than ever now, allowing him to fire the shots from the baseline. Murray is on an 8-match winning run but it seems like too many matches are leaving a trace on him. He had some difficulties with the shoulder against Seppi. To avoid any confusion, he was destroying the Italian who did not to stop him but Seppi won a set totally undeservedly. Beause of Murray's shoulder. Even though he says it's nothing serious, he did admit to having problems with it. That is not the key for me but it only takes a second, one poor service game and the set is lost against Karlovic. Federer didn't stand a chance on return in Halle recently but he's doing great in tie-breaks against Karlovic for years now. Also, the Croat has much more respect for the Swiss. Things are different against Murray. He won a set three times in the 5 defeats to Murray and lost the tie-break in one. He has what it takes to play the Scotsman, I knows he thinks he can stun him today. We need only one set and even though the shoulder problems got the odds down, they still good.

Even though Anderson put up a mediocre performance against Ilhan, he was untouchable in his service games. Poor tie-breaks almost cost him the match but he didn't allow his opponent a single break point in 4 sets. Mayer was also untouchable on serve. The combination of his serve, forehand and simple solutions on net proved to be deadly. He is winning his service games easily, he beat Granollers because he had a lot of room to attack, which is not the case today. They will play much faster today and more simple on both sides of the court, which will result in a small number of chances on return. Especially in the beginning until they find rhythm. Both serve great, both struggle with good servers and that's ideal for this bet. Details

To be very clear, the odds have plummeted but I don't see any way for this not to be successful. Of course, lack of focus for one second is enough, but both of these opponents are excellent servers. Raonic lost a set yesterday, Haas got in the match in the third set when his shoulder let him. Haas was impressed by Raonic's serve as well and he's a veteran. Kyrgios got things in order, his confidence is higher and he's playing his best game at Wimbledon. It's no coincidence that he has more Grand Slam than the regular ATP wins. He is fast and wild on the court, which is ideal for this bet. He will try too hard on return as he's not the kind of a player who just tries to block the shot. Both know what they're up for. Both know that losing a serve means losing a set and I expect them to be very focused in the first part off the match. The first set could be done in 25-30 minutes and I don't expect a single break point opportunity. Confidence and powerful serve are always a winning combination for these kind of bets. Details

This is a low margin. Haas was out of tennis for a year and he wasn't very good after the return, but I watched a few of his matches and followed his statements. He is an experienced player, he went through a lot of rehabilitation and he always repeats that there's no need to hurry. He played with some reserve in Stuttgart and Halle. He has been in full swing for a month now and he didn't save his shoulder against Lajovic. Even then he wasn't the real Haas, but he played smart grass-court tennis. He used the angles, came to the net, used the service-volley and changes of pace. He really does have the game style for these conditions. Raonic played the semi-final last year and he is probably the best server on the Tour, but I still claim he has footwork problems on grass-court. Actually, I don't have to claim anything. He says it often himself. His advantage is that he plays with maximum aggressiveness and that creates respect with his opponents, makes them feel like they shouldn't make a mistake. He was powerless against Ward for a set and a half. Gasquet gave him the third set with a double fault, and Simon outsmarted him. All of these are matches from Queens. Gimeno took a set from him here, and he could have taken two. The Spaniard lacks footwork, slice and exits to the net. He lacks the finesse and idea for this surface, so he complicated the match. Haas can at least take a set here. He can do much more than that. My choice are more games because in normal conditions, they would have 4-5 games higher margin. The market still doesn't trust the German, but if he'll gives his best anywhere, then it's here in Wimbledon. Details

Herbert has been doing great in doubles matches over the past week. He won Queens title and reached Hertognesboch finals. Mahut and his reached AO final early this season as well. He likes the fast conditions, had aggressive game and is capable of playing on the net. He's out of Top 150 but took advantage of the draw here. He met three clay specialists and played 5 sets against Cervantes. Chung is better than the Frenchman, no doubt about it but he's not good on grass court. He first lost to a doubles specialist then to Mathieu and Mayer. He struggled even with Ramos, who is the best possible draw on grass. Herbert is the favorite ere but this will not be easy. The Frenchman needed 5 sets even with Cervantes. A lot suggests that this will be a close match. Just a remainder that Herbert played 52 games in RG qualifying rounds. He is often good at serve but also powerless at return. It will be dramatic today. Details

Nishikori retired from a match 9 days ago with a leg injury. He felt something was off in the Janowicz match but pulled through. It was clearly not so bad to see his pull out immediately. He played a few games in the semis and then retired. He claims to be ready, which doesn't have to be the truth but I'm going to assume that he is. Bolleli is a tough opponent, I still remember his last season's match with Ferrer at RG. The Spaniard played great until that tournament and the Italain had a 2-1 lead. Bolelli had had the same lead against Nishikori here last season. He is very dangerous when he has nothing to lose. There will be three chances for him to win a set here and I believe he will succeed in doing so. He can stun Nishikori even though I don't think that will happen today. He is on a 1-39 record with Top 10 players. I even regret Nishikori's injury becoming a factor here because the odds are a bit lower at something that looks like a good choice even in normal circumstances. Details

A classical bet when Isner is concerned. He is always focused on the serve in the first round while only trying to find rhythm on return. It takes him a few wins to get dangerous and then this becomes a less good choice. He played first set tie-break in the last 5 tournaments and Smethurst forced him int one here last season. He played 7 tie-breaks in a row in the next two rounds. I think Soeda is the perfect opponent for this bet. He will most likely not be able to do anything at return while keeping the ball low in rallies and most likely taking advantage of Isner's lack of speed at start. They met two years ago in Delray Beach and the first set finished in a tie-break. WillHill has this bet under 1st set correct score“ and the result 7-6 is the only thing that matters, regardless of who wins the tie-break. Details

Robert is underestimated. Even though he is a veteran players whose ranking dropped due to an injury, he is still a dangerous player at this level, when he's highly motivated. He defeated Zopp and Gombos here, two hitters that are not afraid to hit hard. Last year he took Kyrgios here into three tiebreaks and took a set, and he was physically unfit, that was his only match of the season after getting injured at Roland Garros. In the season before that, he passed the qualifications and defeated Falla in three sets. I think he can defeat De Schepper as well, but I don't think that the Frenchman can play a one-sided match here. With that, which is usual for De Schepper, I don't expect many return chances, so this should pass in four sets. Details

Myneni reached Top 200 only recently. Logically, he didn't play on European grass court before this because travelling is expensive so he stayed in Asia and played challengers there. He tied two finals and a semifinal later last year. I saw his matches those weeks and he is the classical representative of the Indian tennis school, which means he likes to go on the net and has the game for it. He beat Gojowczyk here, having lost only one service game and that has to be respected. Playing a consistent match against the aggressive German is not easy. Since he is to play De Shepper, this is only the logical bet. The Frenchman struggled against Albot in the first set greatly, won the tie break eventually and converted the break point in the second set to settle the match. Albot is definitely better than the Indian but Myneni has the game that prefers faster point, that doesn't give rhythm. it's always good to go on the net against De Schepper. There will be much more of a fight here than the basic odds suggest. Details

Grass court conditions are special and the term specialist means a lot here. Zverev is a grass court specialist. He reached main draw through qualifying matches just like in Stuttgart. He was convincing and lost only one serve in three matches but his opponents are better in different conditions which is why thy often lost their service games. I've seen him last week and noticed that he is far behind the baseline when playing great servers. That can worked against those who stay behind but Groth runs inside the court. We need to wait and see how Zverez will eve cop with Groth's serves. On the other hand, he has a tricky left hand and knows how to handle the ball in these conditions. Both are good on grass and both will struggle against opponent's serve. Any kind of games over option is therefore good, especially those regarding the first set while both still look for rhythm on return and before the result of the first set starts affecting the tactics mentally. There's not much to speculate here. Isner played three tie-break against Lopez and both saved the serve until the end. In the first round Isner played a tie-break of the first set against the unexperienced player Donaldson. This is Troicki's eighth match on grass in two weeks. He lost a serve against Mathieu, but I think that's an exception. The first match on this tournament is going to be laid back. Yesterday he had a serious opponent and he didn't lose the serve in three sets against Cilic. In the last two sets he didn't even offer him a break-points. Everything's clear. I don't expect a lot of opportunities on the return today either. They played a head-to-head in Monte Carlo this season and it ended in two sets without a lost serve. That's why today the choice is the tie-break of the first set. Later they may risk more, the game might become more free, but not in the first set. WillHill has this bet under the offer "1st set correct score" and the 7-6 result will be monitored which is worth no matter who wins the tie-break. Details

Murray is still not himself. He opened both sets with a break behind Lu. Against Verdasco he reached a win on the Spaniard's 10 double errors. Both players took the Scot into overtime of one set. We can say that Murray played as much as was necessary, but in those matches he was pushed forward thanks to the errors of his opponents. Queens is one of the tournaments in which the serve has the biggest advantage. Especially in Muller's case. His is a combination of strength and technique, and here the balls slide, they stay low. Muller's left-handed serve is going to be a problem for the returner such as the Brit is. The Luxembourgian didn't lose a serve in two matches here. He has six grass matches behind him and two lose serve-games. This season they had a head-to-head in Dubai and the Scot won with four games difference. Here I'll opt for more games because with such editions Muller can take both sets on the grass in overtime, and he can take a set. Last year the Scot lost to Stepanek here, and two years earlier to Mahut. So, against two players whose philosophy is similar to the Luxembourgian. The Scot won't have it easy today. Details

I am aware that the odds have been cut, they're on the margin of profitability, but I also can't see how this can fail except with a series of double faults or with a few consecutive lucky returns. Even if someone takes the 30-00 lead on the return, that doesn't have to play a role here. Isner and Lopez played against each other on Wimbledon last year and I made practically the same bet. There were no breaks in the first three sets, and the fourth one finished 7-5. There were only 7 break point chances and only one break in the entire match. The conditions here are even faster. Isner hit 21 aces in the first round, Lopez 17. They practically hit two aces per service game. They both won 90% of first serve points and of course saved their serve until the end. Simply put, it all points at a new tiebreak. I'm looking at it this way. If I could chose the court for this bet, I would have chosen Queens or Newport. Details

I expected Muller to do better against Youzhny's serve, especially because the Russian is in a really big crisis. It didn't happen in the end but Muller lived up to the expectations concerning his serve. He fired 37 aces in 17 service games and saved all 8 break points. since he had only two break points in three sets against someone who is out of form, I expect his to struggle in that segment today. Dimitrov has the game for the grass but will most likely not do his best today. Muller seems untouchable in these kind of conditions even for better players. I opted for the first set tie-break. Both have what it takes to win his service games, both for their own separate reasons. Details

Raonic won three points on the return in the first set yesterday. He passed through with his first serve, and that is ideal for this bet. He hasn't played many matches, and there are his usual problems with movement on grass. Gasquet will know how to use that with his serve. He can win his own service games and even without a lot of winners. On the other hand, it is really, really hard to return Raonic's serve in these conditions. Especially for Gasquet if he will be set defensively again. In two of their three head-to-head matches, the first set went into the tiebreak. In each of their matches they played at least one tiebreak, six time in ten sets. I expect a predictable course of the first set here as well, and one of them will later catch better rhythm or start making more risks, as it usually goes. Details

Maybe Kyrgios really was sick, he definitely wasn't himself, but Wawrinka played better than expected. With the classical small problems with the movement, his strokes worked well and that's the most important thing. Anderson, on the other hand, was only a point away from defeat, and then won seven back-to-back games. He hit 22 aces and won 15 of 16 service games against Hewitt. Wawrinka defeated the Australian without a lost set. The Swiss suffered three back-to-back defeats against Anderson. There were some comebacks, mistakes, but confidence is definitely not a problem for the Swiss right now. In their last three matches they played the tie-break of the first set. Last five sets went into tiebreak. Under these conditions, on a still fresh grass, I believe there won't be many opportunities on the return. At least in the first set, until the mind starts to play the leading role. Details

Querrey opened his 7 out of the last 8 tournaments on grass surface with a first set tie-break. He played some not so famous players but also players like Chardy, Tomic, Gasquet and Pospisil. The reason for it is simple. Querrey's strong suit is his serve and return is often a problem in faster conditions. Especially in opening matches. Dimitrov is the defending champion here but he's far from top form. Granted, he's got great game for grass but he opened both tournaments last season with a tie-break. The grass is new here and many consider it the only proper grass surface. The ball bounces low and finding rhythm is not easy early on. It's also slippery the first few days. I expect a tough first set with very little chances on return and that is why games over in the first set seems like the best option. Details
