WBA won vs United after that, which should give them wings, but I believe their win to be more a result of poor Manchester performance than of their real strength. They conceded three goals in their three home games so far, but their next opponent is Arsenal, who has no scoring problems. The WBA defense is not particularly solid, as they've demonstrated on several occasions. If Arsenal's second lineup managed to score a goal vs them in the Cup, I believe they can do much more playing for three points in the Championship. When a team in Turkey wins against Bursaspor (former champion), Trabzonspor (former champion) and ties away at Galatasaray (defending champion) then they deserve respect. It is evident that their wins are not result of mere chance or poor form of the opponents, but of good and offensive-driven play by Caykur Rizespor. Antalyaspor won against Besiktas, a very strong team but if you've read the announcement before the game you could have seen in what condition Besiktas was. Today Antalyaspor could be left without attacker Diarra who scored both goals in that game. If he doesn't take part today I doubt that the guest team can look for anything in this game. Details

We shouldn't forget that Norwich don't easily lose their home matches. Chris Hughton's players play well on the home pitch, fight and kick all 90 minutes. City are in much better shape right now, filled with confidence, and motivated by sports revenge. Most of the games they won against Wigan so far were with no goals taken, the last time Wigan scored against them was in an away game in 2009. The City's defense halted a Man. United offense, I think they can easily squelch Wigan, who plan to play with several players off the bench and a couple of youngsters. The odds are really too good not to take, the stake is medium, as this is a Cup game, and we all know surprises can happen there, so lets take the more cautious approach. Details

I know that derby games are tough bets, as aside from mere statistics and current form motivation plays an important role, transforming a poor team into a formidable rival. But even if we take into account everything that holds significance in every derby, I still get the impression that Besiktas have the upper hand here. If we look at the stats, things are clear. Besiktas have won all their fixtures this season, and they've managed to reach good form even faster by playing European matches, which puts them ahead in that respect as well. Motivation is a vital factor, and there will be no lack of it on both sides, but if I have to pick whose is "stronger", I would pick Besiktas, for two reasons. The first is that they finally have a chance to knock down the champions, extend their lead over them to nine points and make the first step towards a long-awaited title. Besiktas have been living in the shadow of Galatasaray, and even Fenerbahce, but at this point they are ahead of both of their rivals. The second reason is Slaven Bilic.
