Oostende are after their 6th consecutive title. They are on a 16-game winning run in all competitions. They lost to Mons in the first round home in Belgian league and went on to record 17 straight wins since. They finished regular season with 8 wins more than runner-ups Antwerp and that only shows how dominant they are in Belgium. Since they were set to finish in spot 1 with 10 rounds still left in the championship, their motivation and focus wasn't always top level. However, the playoffs are to start today and given coach Gjergja's mindset, I have no doubt they will go full throttle.
Willebroek managed to reach the playoffs for the first time ever. They wanted but couldn't avoid spot 8. They lost to Oostende in the last round by 9 but there is the story about motivation again. Oostende lost earlier in Willebroek but that game came at the worst possible moment for the defending champions - between two semifinal meetings with Chalon in FIBA Europe Cup. Earlier in the season, Oostende won by 11 home, had +20 at half time. In the first game in Willebroek, it was +22 (+22 at HT).
There is no question about the difference in quality here. Oostende have a lot more players to choose from. An extra problem for Willebroek is declining form. They are on a 6-game losing run away. They managed to do well only against weakened Okapi and lost by 8 while they lost by 30 or more against Spirous, Mons and Brussels (double digits by half time). Unlike Oostende, those teams had something to play for in the finish of regular season.
Total handicap is also a very good option but since the next meeting is on Friday and the stats back the first half a bit better, I'm going with that option. Details

Bayern dominate the Bundesliga by far in the last months. Their score in their Audi Dome is 15-1 in the regular part of the season, losing only to Ulm who had a record running win. They got even for it in April by beating Ulm on the road by 15. They beat Brose at home by 8, Oldenburg by 7, Telekom by 12, Bayreuth by 12, Ludwigsburg by 29, Giessen by 50 in the last round, Frankfurt by 25. Alba lost by 12 to Frankfurt in their last road game, by 8 to Bremerhaven, by 6 to the weakened Ulm, by 17 to Brose, by 23 to Telekom, by 12 to Oldenburg. The Berliners are in a 7-game losing run in Bundesliga, and replaced the coach recently. Ahmet Caki was replaced by the 35-year-old Thomas Pach whose job isn't easy because he lost the captain and best player Milosavljević for the rest of the season, and their main point guard Siva hasn't been active for a long time, but he might get to play till the end of the season still. Alba lost to Bayern in Munchen 58-97, in Berlin 56-80, by 8 in Berlin in the BBL cup Final Four, but they were complete then. Bayern are complete, and have Zirbes and Joyce who are in great form, Đorđević won't play with tactics like he did in the last games, and i don't think the weakened Alba can do much here. Berliners will definitely be trying to use their center Kikanović as much as possible, and nobody has as much width in the paint as the Bavarians do. I doubt Alba will manage to avoid losing this. Besides the entire game handicap, a first half handicap is also a decent pick. Details

Brose know that they can't get in the playoffs a few rounds before the end of EL group stage but not even that stopped them from wanting as good results as possible in Europe. They lost to Darussafaka in over time in the penultimate round and then lost a close game to Galatasaray. They played rather modest games in Budesliga in between thsoe two. After EL finished and the important point guard Strelnieks got back on the team, they had a 12-point lead over Bayreuth by half time. Away against Tubingen (without Miller, Radisevic and Zisis) they had a 16-point lead at HT and against Alba home by 15. During Euroleague, this is how they did with teams comparable to their today's opponents in the first half: Göttingen +11, Rasta +23, Jena +17, Würzburg +17, Braunschweig +12, Giessen +20.
They were down at HT in Bremerhaven but that was played not even 48 hours after the defeat by a point to Fenerm a few days before the UNICS. Brose are well-rested and ready today. The second spot is at stake, Bayern are close and since the next round is to be played on Monday, I expect Brose to open this fiercely and to settle it by the end of first half.
Bremerhaven are not in bad form but they have one of the worst defensive ends in the league. I think Brose will have no problems playing their game here. Bremerhaven beat Jena, Tubingen and Rasta away but they were down by 23 to Ulm away, by 8 to Bayern (-25 in total), by 10 to Telekom, by 22 to Alba, by 6 to Oldenburg, by 11 to Bayreut, by 9 to Wurzburg in the last away game. Bremerhaven are just doing the job here, they will not be relegated but at the same time cannot reach playoffs. Details

Stal's average home is 143,7 points. They went over this margin in 11 out of 15 times home (over with Slupsk, Turow at 153 and Kutno and Krosno) Stelmet average 147,9 points home (the game with Kutno was recorded as a 20-0 win for the opponents). They got limited to under this margin 10 times away, went over 5 times against either fast-paced or unpredictable teams and Tarnobrzeg, whom they trashed by 40. When it comes to meetings with tougher teams, they went: Koszalin 125 points, Rosa 120 in regulation time, Anwil 149 (Anwil have one of the best defensive ends, as well as offensive). Their first meeting with Stal in Zielonoj Gori finished at 141 points. Stal finished with Anwil at 146 points, with Koszalin at 125, Rosa 120 in regulation time. Stelmet are not at the defensive level from last season but they have the third best defense in the Polish league. Stal are right there, both teams allow less then 72 points, only Rosa are better in that segment. Stelmet are close to top teams when it comes to offense but not many opponents did well on the offensive end against them this season. The best offense Turow got limited to 71, second best Torun at 63, fourth best Szczecin at 69. This is a very important game. Stelmet are trying to reach spot 1, there isn't room for error because they need to get one win more than Anwil in the last two rounds if they want to finish in the top spot before playoffs. Stal are trying to stay in spot 3, Torun in spot 4 are right there, just like Rosa in spot 5. Details

Hats off to Gottingen's achievements this season, I think the odds at Ludwigsburg's win are too high. Gottingen won in the first head-to-head but Ludwigsburg are now a different team. There are 4 new players on the team (Hammonds, Trice, Crawford, Kennedy, all of whom are important), and will be much more motivated today. Gottingen are safe from relegation and cannot reach playoffs. Their opponents, on the other hand, are trying to secure playoffs (currently sit in spot 8). Giessen are breathing down their necks, Oldenburg got ahead and every game is crucial now, especially because the schedule is not easy. They are to face Tubingen, which shouldn't be a problem, but after that they will face top table Ulm, play Alba in Berlin in the last round.
Ludwigsburg had quite a lot of ups and downs this season, they are 7-7 away in Bundesliga but looking at their games with teams with the same number of wins as Gottingen (or less), we see that they beat all of those teams Jena, Rasta, Tübingen, Giessen, Bremerhaven, Braunschweig, Würzburg). Gottingen lost to teams of quality similar to Ludwigsburg's home (Giessen (-10), Oldenburg (-20), Telekom (-9), Bayreuth (-35)). They only beat Alba, who are very inconsistent this season. The last home game against Brose can be taken as a con for this tip. Gottingen almost won but Brose were in a strange pace back then and weakened. They though they'd have it easy but it didn't work out that way.
Match-up is important here as well. Gottingen rely on point guard Sanders and guard Ruoff. Their opponents, on the other hand, have one of the most aggressive and physically most powerful back courts in the league. They are at a high level defense-wise, especially after acquiring Hammonds and Trice, defense specialists. They were not on the team in the first game with Gottingen. That will only give more motivation to Ludwigsburg today. They won't take this lightly. Details

Bayreuth had an inconsistent form lately, but they always look good at home. They only lost two championship games there, but against the best teams, Ulm and Brose. They're complete, they're motivated to keep the fourth place that means the home floor advantage in the playoff. They're two steps ahead now compared to the teams behind them, but their schedule is tough (road games against Oldenburg and Wurzburg), and home games against Giessen and Bayern. They played Frankfurt twice this season, winning 75-61 in the pre-season, and 72-56 in the championship, with both those games played in Frankfurt.
The Skyliners won't be able to use their best scorer today, Shields (14 points per game) because he's been lent to Trent for the rest of the season. Their starting point guard Vaughn (10-9 points and 3.8 assists) is also out, and the wing Huff (10.7 points) is questionable. He had the flue these last few days and hasn't practiced, so even if he plays, who knows what he'll look like. It's clear that nobody in Frankfurt even believes anymore that they can get to the playoff, so the substitute players will get their chance today. In circumstances like those, I really doubt they can match a better and more motivated host. Details

Bayern keep on dominating Budesliga. They seem untouchable in 2017 in Germany. The fact they ended Ulm's Budesliga 27-game unbeaten run last round says it all. Before that, they beat Brose home and are in the race for spot 2. They're on a 12-game winning run in the league but doesn't seem to have gotten them complacent. Coach Djordjevic said they didn't do well in the first game against Bonn. That was the worst defensive end performance of the season and they have learned some lessons from it according to the coach. They played Telekom in Cup QFs and won by 15. At half time, they had a narrow lead but that was back when they also played Eurocup. The focus is now entirely on Bundesliga and that is obvious. They went over the -7,5 margin home in the championship against Jena (+20), Gottingen (+21), Frankfurt (+15), Ludwigsburg (+23), Bayreuth (+16), Tubingen (+28), Alba (+18) and Wirzburg (+10). They didn't do it against Brose and Ulm when it comes to better teams. Telekom aren't convincing away, they were down to Frankfurt at half time by more than 7 (-8), bottom-table Rasta (-8), Bayreuth (-15), Oldeburg (-9), Ulm (-9), Ludwigsburg (-12), ALba (-11). They managed to stand up only to Brose when it comes to stronger teams but they ended up losing by 20. Bonn's top scorer and key point guard is out (15,7 points and 5 assists on average). They beat Jena last weekend mostly because of him. Their second top scorer Thompson (14,7 points, 3,1 assists) is out as well. Thompson managed to score 31 points in the first game with Bayreuth, Mayo followed suit. Coach Krunic says they are tired, they played a lot of games lately and I don't see them standing up to Bayern today. Total handicap is just as good an option as the first half handicap. Details

I clearly underestimated Ulm last weekend. They didn't lose a single game to this day and Will clearly finish in the top spot. I would not be surprised if they win every game until the end. Brose are in a crisis. They lost 5 out of the last 6 games overall and have straight defeats to Bayern and Ulm and might not even finish in the second spot. Brose still have character and even though they can no longer make it into EL QF, they almost beat Darussfaka. The fact is, they are not in top form but realistically, defeats to Fener, Bayern, Baskonia, Ulm and Darussafaka aren't a problem. Brose are still miles ahead of most Bundesliga teams. The coach said they are bursting with confidence after the Darussfaka game and that he is proud. They didn't have problems away agaisnt weaker teams but do have the defeat to Ulm and Bayern. They beat Oldenburg away by 21 (11 at ht), Frankfurt by 19 (25), Rasta by 28 (10), Telekom 15 (11). Gottingen's coach said that his team cannot stand to top table teams after the last defeat to Bayreuth (-35, 31 at hf). They did well against Brose in Bamberg and still lost by 11. Brose were completely focused on EL back then and didn't do great in Bundesliga. Things are different now, they are focused on Bundesliga, they need to respond. The home team do not have the quality to stand up to top teams. They secured a spot in this league last round and cannot reach playoffs. The total handicap is as good an option as first half handicap. Details

Mons say that this is basically their last chance to catch up with Spirou. Mons are in spot 8, the last one that leads into playoffs. They are far ahead of Leuven (3 wins more) but they are two steps away from Spirou. If they lost today, catching up would be difficult. Finishing in post 8 means meeting Oostende, which everyone in Belgium wants to avoid. Mons are among the most defensive oriented teams in the league. Their average in home games is 148 points, they are 9-3 in unders at this margin. Looking at the game with tougher teams, this is how they did: Oostende 130 points, Spirou 134, Brussels 133. They stayed at 140 or under twice with Antwerpen, who are now more offense oriented. Away with Oostede they went to 145 and 148, 134 and 164 with Brussels, 141 with Spirou in the derby match where tensions are always high. They have 8 overs and 4 unders away at tis margin and their average away is 161,6 points. There a lot of teams in that championship that play run and gun so we need to look at the meetings with more defense oriented teams. Away against Mons they got limited to 134, against Oostende in the game that fell apart at 144. The fact they played Brussels away at 174 at the start of the season, at 166 against Antwerp away and recently finished at 129 and Antwerp at 146 in regulation time says it all about the improvements on the defensive end. After the change of coach, they went at 154 with Oostender some ten days ago (24-31 last quarter), last weekend they limited fast-paced Willebroek at 56 (143 total). Mons finished at 131 a week ago against what might be the fastest team in the league Limburg.
Let's add that they played 10 competitive games over the past 3 seasons and went over 148 in only one of them. They finished at 144 or lower 8 times. Details

Union Olimpia's coach Okorn says they want to improve the bad impression from the Rogaška game. That saw them fall behind Krka after the second round of Champions League and they don't have too much room for new mistakes. The team from Ljubljana is complete and completely focused on the SLovenian championship in which they beat Helios by 8 and 7 (when incomplete), while they won the last game over them in cup QFs by 17 (12 at halftime). Their approach was not as serious because of the big lead from the first game and won by 6 (9). Olimpija were not complete then either and Domzale were much more competitive than today.
After losing in Cup QFs and securing Champions League, Helios decided to try and deal with their debts so they let some very important players go. Curry (11,9 points and 5,6 assists on average) left earlier, followed by Jones who recorded 18 points in that cup game. He was by far their best player (hit 30 in the first championship game in Ljubljana). The average in the championship was 15,5 points. They recently terminated Kyzlink's contract as well (average of 11,2 points). Remekun is out with an injury as well so Helios became a team with no foreigners overnight. They have very young players now and it's no wonder the coach said they're in for a very tough week because the domestic U19 championship finals come right after it. Details

Ulm are going into the great Bundesliga derby undefeated, their record is 25-0, and if they would win today, they would secure the top spot ahead of the play-off. They broke Bundesliga record in straight wins in a season. But every winning run has to end eventually, and I think Ulm's will end tonight. There is no team in Bundesliga that can count on points in Bamberg, especially when Brose are completely focused on the championship, since they cannot reach the play-off in the Euroleague. Coach Trinchieri dosed the playing time of their key players in Milan, he said the focus is on Sunday. The numbers show how dominant Brose are in at home in the championship. They haven't lost to Ulm at home since 2008, they recorded 14 straight wins with average 20.7 point difference. Brose have not lost at home, in the Cup and championship, in two years, they are on a 37 game winning run. Their home record in the championship this season is 12-0, they defeated Bayern 90-59, they had some less convincing performances, but that was all in the period when their focus was on Euroleague.
Ulm are undefeated, but they have been less convincing away than at home. In the Cup quarter-final they lost at Ludwigsburg, they were lucky to win at Bayreuth and Oldenburg in overtime. Their form is slowly dropping which is proved by their latest unconvincing performance against Alba at home, and they defeated bottom-placed Rasta by only 5.
Of course it is not in Ulm's interest to lose, but it is important to point out that every defeat by less than 15 points is a positive result for them. In that case, they could afford another defeat in the remaining 6 rounds, under the condition that Brose win all the remaining games. Considering Trinchieri's mentality, and Brose's character, I am sure they will not be happy with just a win, they will want to win by over 15 points. I think they are capable of achieving that. The first quarterfinal series game between Novosibirsk and UMMC Ekaterinburg. The game is best out of three. Novosibirsk ended the regular part of the Russian championship with a 8-12 score, and that's about their last year's level. The team is similar to what they were last year, two foreigners plus a lot of young Russians aged between 21 and 23. In the last 12 rounds, Novosibirsk got only two wins. UMMC Ekaterinburg have been in top notch form lately. The coach Olaf Lange isn't sparing his best players anymore. He can use five foreigners in the Russian championship, so he mostly spared his best players: Taurasi, Griner and Toliver. He used his best lineup in the last round and beat Nadežda 89-57, and Nadežda are one of the best defensive teams in Euroleague. UMMC mostly played Euroleague with their full lineup, and didn't go under 88 points in the last seven rounds (except Nadežda). Besides that convincing win, they crushed Famila twice in the Euroleague (by 45 and 35 points). UMMC also played Novosibirsk in the last year's Russian championship quarterfinal, and won 99-39 on the road, and 108-48 at home. This season, they won 74-56 (25-38), but Griner, Taurasi and Toliver were out then. Those three didn't play at home either, when they won 84-56 (46-23), and when they were focused on the Euroleague. Even though there's no official confirmation that UMMC will use their best lineup today, considering the coach Lange's practice in the playoff and the fact they've got no other obligations right now (Euroleague Final Four is mid April), I expect them to go full throttle today.
Novosibirsk lost the game against the second to last placed Kazanochka in the last round, and it's not like they didn't need the win because it could've helped them skip MBA Moscow, get the sixth place and avoid UMMC now. They lost 61-99 at home to Nadežda (25-42), and 57-84 (30-45) to Kursk. They lost 51-95 on the road against Kurks (25-48) and 56-73 to Nadežda (23-44). The club published yesterday that they ended their contract with the wing center Williams (because of an injury), one of two foreigners, and the second best scorer of the team with 14.8 points, and the best rebound player with 9.1 rebounds in 32 minutes on the floor per game. She was their best scorer in their last duel against Kazanochka, with 15 points and seven rebounds.
There's a huge difference in quality here, and Novosibirsk are even more weakened now, so I doubt they can resist. I think all the picks here are good, both the total handicap and the first half handicap, and the guest team over. Details

Spirou have not been consistent this season, and they are again going through a bad period that culminated on Saturday with a home defeat to second-to-last Leuven. After that game they agreed with coach Bastianini to mutually terminate his contract, and his assistant, Pascal Angillis, is now their head coach. We can expect a reaction from them today, they are on a five game losing run, they dropped to 7th position, Mons is threatening them, and the 8th placed team will face Oostende in the play-off. They had a bad period at the start of the season as well, when they managed to defeat the best team in Belgium, that is Oostende. Their clashes are always special, it's Belgian Classico, the biggest derby, or as they like to call it, a clash of two Belgiums. Forma often does not play a role here. Spirou won their first head-to-head this season 74-69, lost at Ostende 58-86, so they were under 150 in both games.
There are only a few teams in the Belgian championship who can compare to Oostende defensively, Mons and partially Brussels. Spirou played games at 134 and 141 points against Mons this season, against Brussels at 154 at home, at the start of the season 174 away, and 129 recently. Oostende fared against Mons in the championship as follows: 145, 130 and 148. Oostende are at an average of 147.6 away, 8-3 in favor of the under at today's margin, no one has such a good defense in the championship. They recently played at 135 at Limburg, at 143 against Antwerp, 153 at Okapi, at 150 at Brussels. Spirou are at an average of 158 at home, 6-6 in over and under on today's margin, but they were under against stronger teams at home, I don't expect them neat their average at home games in this game. Mathematically speaking, this is a justified margin. Limburg are at an average of 163 points in the championship, Antwerp at 163. But I think the bookmakers didn't take into account the trend, especially at Limburg. Their first head-to-head finished at 145 points, and Limburg scored only 70 points. That was early in the season when they struggled with injuries, and their roster was not complete. They played a fast-paced game, because both teams prefer fast basketball, run-and-gun style (Limburg over 70 shots from the floor, the Giants over 60), but it was obvious that was still not it.
Limburg's coach Brian Lynch set the team up in the meantime, so they have been at an average of 166,1 points in the last 10 rounds, and they went over today's margin in 9 of the last 11 games (not only against defensively strong Oostende and Spirou). Against faster teams in the championship at home, they went over against Okapi, twice against Leuven and Willebroek, didn't go over only against Antwerp while they were in a bad period. The key thing is that they have improved offensively, they played their last game against Antwerp at 193 points (Limburg had 65 shots and 33 free throws, Antwerp 65 shots, 27 free throws).
Antwerp are led by a young coach, Roel Moors, whose philosophy is similar to Lynch's, because they both learned from the same man, Paul Vervaeck. Antwerp's offensive numbers are even better than Limburg's. They went over today's margin in away games at Okapi, at home finished at 161, at Leuven 171, at home 174.
Antwerp have mostly went over against teams similar to Limburg this season. Limburg are in fine form, we have two teams with similar playing style and I expect them to be over their averages in the championship this season. Details

Bayern suffered a heavy defeat to Unicaja on Wednesday and were eliminated from the Eurocup, so their complete focus is now on Bundesliga. If they were not eliminated, they would have had two European games next week, but this way their first game is in a week, the derby against Brose. The Bavarians are dominant in Bundesliga lately, they recorded 6 straight away wins (9-2 overall), won by 20 at Frankfurt, at Jena by 44, at Ludwigsburg by 10, Alba by 24 (defeated them in the Cup in Berlin as well), Bremerhaven by 35 last weekend. The only downside to this is a win by 5 at Wurzburg, but that is the local derby and the tensions are always high. We can also add that they won at Ulm (who are undefeated in Bundesliga) in the Eurocup by 11 at the start of the year.
Tubingen have avoided relegation, mainly because of good away performances against weaker teams. They are bad at home (2-9), the worst home team in the league (with Rasta), They only defeated Giessen at home, in the first round, and Rasta. In the last round they lost to Telekom by double-digit difference, before that they lost to Jena, Frankfurt, Alba... If we look at their home games against the strongest German teams, they lost to all of them by double-digits, except Alba who have been inconsistent this season. The difference in quality is significant here, Bayern are in a good form and the offered margin is definitely not too high. Bayern won their first head-to-head routinely by over 30 points. If they had European games next week, the first half handicap would have been a better option, but this way I choose overall handicap. Details

Okapi and Limburg are two fastest-paced teams in the Blegian championship. They prefer the run-and-gun in its purest form. Okapi average 168 in the championship, 173 home. They didn't go over today's margin just against tough Brussels home, against the toughest team Oostende and very defense-oriented Liege, whom they trashed both times. The only game that doesn't fit in is the one against Antwerp when they got limited to 163 but Okapi could not stand up to the opponents because they were weakened. Their top shooters were not fully fit and didn't play much. They went over 170 with Brussels recently, over 180 with defense-oriented Mons and over 180 with Spirou.
Limburg had a poor start to the season on account of injury struggles. They got completed later on and got their numbers up. They are close to 170 points away. Granted, they didn't go over this margin in the last 5 rounds but they didn't play teams who would allow that (Spirou, Oostende, Liege, Brussels). They went over this margi with all the faster-paced teams (Willebroek, Leuven, Antwerp).
What's most important are the h2h meetings which are always fast-paced. That is only logical since both teams like to try and outrun the opponents. They met 4 times this season. They went at 184 at Okapi's arena, at 185 in the Cup. They were at 173 at Limburg's arena in the championship and at 169 in the cup semifinal second-leg. The cup game was very important. Looking at the last 3 seasons, they met 14 times and went over this margin 12 times. They stayed at 166 once. Details

The first game of the women's Euroleague quarter final is played in best-of-three system. The home team UMMC from Ekaterinburg opened the competition with a defeat at Avenida, then recorded 13 wins and showed why they are called the Dream team. If they had played in the WNBA, they would probably fight for the title. The Russian players are in the background, their key figures are Americans Griner, Taurasi, Toliver and Nolan. They added Spaniard Lyttle to Griner in the paint, and there are also Torrens, Meesseman... That is pretty much like CSKA Moscow acquiring the best NBA point-guard, strongest center, great guards and wingers, and 3-4 great European NBA players. UMMC won all home games, by halftime they were in the lead by 12 against Sopron and Bourges, by 8 Avenida, Hataya by 41, Lille by 22, Polkowice by 10 and Nadezda by 1. We should point out that against Polkowice and Nadezda they had already secured the top position and coach Lange made a lot of rotations. In the Russian championship, they defeated Nadezda 89-57 a few days ago (in the Euroleague they can play with all 8 foreign players, but only with 5 in the Russian Championship).
Famila won at weak Gyor and Wisla. They lost to stronger teams, but the only relevant games are the ones at Fenerbahce and Kursk. At Fener they ewere down by 13 at halftime, at Kursk by 5, but Kursk had already secured the top position, while Famila were fighting for the quarter-final. On Saturday they lost in the Italian championship 52-78 to Rague (6th in the league standings). Their key player, Miyem, played for only 8 minutes, she is still not completely fit, and the situation is not simple for them. Their other key player, Anderson (10,2 points and 5,6 rebounds in Euroleague) is also struggling with an injury. Miyem is their best scorer in the Euroleague with 14,1 points, and Yacoubou (11,8 pts, 9,6 rebounds) has been out a while. WNBA player Yacoubou could physically handle UMMC frontcourt line, but this way, I doubt they can handle them.
The knock-out stage will further motivate the Russian team, and I don't believe the Italians will be able to parry them in this condition. UMMC will not leave anything up to chance, I expect them to start the game strong, and decide the winner by halftime. The second game is on Friday in Italy. Details

Tarnobrzeg are at the very bottom of the Polish championship league table, with only three wins so far, and judging by their latest moves, they're obviously at peace with having to play the second league next season. They ended their contracts with three Americans this week, all main players. The back point guard Releford is out, he was the best scorer of the league with 18-1 points per match, and also the point guard Brown, the second best with 14.9 per game and the best assists player with 5.6 per game. The center Knowles is gone, too, their third best scorer with 12.5 points and 10.9 rebounds per match. That decimated the team, they didn't find acquisitions (if they're even doing it). This makes the team not belong in the first league even, their main player now is the 39-year-old Wojdyla.
Trefl Sopot have 11-10 score, they're outside of the playoff zone and are now in a big battle to get there. The competition is huge, and in a match like this one, they can't afford mistakes. They haven't been great on the road, that's true, but they're much better than the hosts in situations like these. They showed in the last two championship rounds that they're getting their form back. First they beat the Polish leader Torun by 32 points, and then beat Turow in a road game, and Turow are known for being tough at home. Tarno lost to Torun in the last round by 41 points. They were even keeping up in the first half, but then fell apart because of the shortened rotation. Before that, when they were complete while playing Polpharma (who were beaten by Trefl in the road game), they lost by 15 at home, and by 14 to the weakened Rosa, by 40 to Stelmet, by 21 to Koszalin (who were beaten by Trefl in the road game).
All in all, Tarnobrzeg are far ahead of any other team in the league like this, and that quality's got to show. I expect Trefl to win by 15. A decent live option is the team under for Tarnobrzeg in the first half. Details

This is CL Round of 16 first leg game. The two games will be combined so there cannot be overtime today or a nerve-wrecking finish. This game is in a way very similar to Aris and Strasbourg meeting in playoff first round. ASVEL are no worse in defense than Strasbourg (they're almost identical, but ASVEL are worse in offense). They averaged 145,7 in CL, away 146,3. They played PAOK at 128 points, 146 against Rose in a game that fell apart, under 150 with Ventspils and Neptunas but Aris are much better in defense than those teams, apart from PAOK.
Aris played tougher teams in CL home games at: Strasbourg at 123, Frankfurt 122, Monaco 127. They only went well over this margin with Banvit but that was in the first rounds. In the Greek league, they stayed under 130 with PAOK, at 133 with Panathinaikos, at 130 in the championship and 127 in Greek Cup final (120 against PAOK away, 142 against AEK in a game that fell apart, 124 Oly, 146 Monaco, Frankfurt 155 with 50 points in the last quarter). With AEK, they played a game at 153 points in Cup semis but AEK seem much better home than away. Details

About ten rounds before the end of the regular part of the championship Rasta are in a very difficult situation, they're three steps behind the safe zone, so far at home they didn't win at all, their record at home is 0-11, they are on a 15-game losing run, and not even the change of the coach and a lot of players didn't change things for the better. Usually they look okay in the first half, but as the game moves on, they fall down, that's the most common scenario in their home games too. In the first head-to-head against Ludwigsburg the same thing happened. Quality-wise, Ludwigsburg are above Rasta, I don't expect the hosts will end their bad run today.
The away team also care about points. Their record is 9-11, and they're 10th which means they can't allow themselves to make a mistake in matches like this one. Away, Ludwigsburg won all games against weaker opponents who can be compared to Rasta. They recently beat Tubingen with +12, Wurzburg +9, Braunschweig +7, Bremenhaven +8, uncomfortable Giessen (with whom they will probably fight for the eighth place) +6. They lost in away games to Brose, Bayern, Bayreuth, Ulm and Frankfurt in tight finishes. Ludwigsburg are a better team with a wider roster, they're in good shape, and it's worth using these odds for the away team. Details
