    3-0 will most likely be the outcome of this match, given the quality difference between Novara and Urbino, but when one considers that with some luck Urbino could have beaten Conegliano three days ago, who are on par with Novara, betting on them to take at least a set today seems extremely attracive.
    To avoid any confusion, I will stress once again that the odds for this counter-handicap to go through are not (too) high, but I don't think it's a bad idea to try a value-bet with these odds. The assumed loss would hurt much less than the possible realization that Urbino were up to the task but were not trusted they'll deliver. Details

    I don't think Lennik can be a favorite for @1,05. The Belgian league is stronger than the Finnish, but Lennik lost sets against far weaker teams than Loimu. They have a comfortable situation from the first match, and need just two sets, while Loimu will certainly not lay down and die.     The difference in quality is simply too great. Biella are after all a second division team that belong somewhere mid-table (4-4). They played run'and'gun teams the first few rounds and even managed to record one win. Le Mans are much more powerful physically and Biella won't be able to count on 90 points, while at the same time struggling to control Le Mans' offense. The busy schedule that is the result of playing two competitions is putting more strain on the team each next game. They lost to mediocre Mantova three days ago by 10 points, which could have ended worse since they were 28 points down after three quarters. Le Mans are much better than Mantova and Biella will have a lot of trouble dealing with their tough defense. Also, Biella have a lot of 20-year-olds on the team, and only two players over 200 cm (no one taller than 204). Le Mans have more experience, they're psychically dominant and have Beaubois to count on again. They should not lack motivation to beat Biella today since this is their chance to get extremely close to securing Eurochallenge second round. That is the goal so that they can shift their focus to championship and Leader's Cup final stage as soon as possible. Details

    Budejovice are in a crises as their two championship defeats to Karlovarski and Ostrava confirm. Those are teams that are not as good as Hypo, who will try and catch up with two top spots teams. They need to win today after failing to beat Antwerpen. Too many mistakes in that match were crucial and they will make sure that doesn't happen again. Budejovice are still without two important receivers, they're in decline and have the chance to win only if Hypo records huge number of errors again.     Melsungen showed signs of life against Löwen, holding 18-14 at halftime, but then they got caught in the jaws of the Lions' defense and scored just 10 in the second 30 minutes. Today they're facing perhaps the best defense of the league, who limited Kiel to 23 in the last round match. Melsungen might be able to parry that as they now have, after a two game suspension, their key defender Philipp Müller. This is the sixth game Erlangen are playing in Nürnberg, two went over, against Lemgo where they scored 31 and Hannover, to whom they scored 32. Melsungen have a much better defense than those two, a physically much stronger lineup, and they'll have to work really hard to leave Nürnberg undefeated. The away team are also in a crisis, in dire need of a victory, which is why I expect a fiery battle on their behalf, with the Müller brothers well known in the league for their dirty defense. Erlangen can answer to that, they concede low scores and focus on defense, so I find it reasonable to expect a match under 55 goals. Erlangen went over that margin in just four of their 15 matches, with two of those, at Magdeburg and HSV, being early blowouts and showtime matches in the second half. Details

    Viborg's greatest problem is a small number of players on the roster. On the other hand, the number of player they can choose from is Esbjerg's greatest advantage. They have two players for each position and top scorer from last season Estevana Polman. As for Polman, she didn't play much in the first match against Viborg with groin injury. She found her rhythm the last month to become one of top players as her team faced Randers and Odense with 11 goals combined.     Hamburg's coach is known for pushing aggressive defense, which should have a significant role today since Kristianstad don't have great offense potential and rely on counter attacking a lot. That won't be easy against Hamburg, and playing against zone defense won't be either, especially if left back Stenbaken missed this game, which seems to be the likeliest outcome. IFK's offense loses power when he's out. When offense struggles, defense steps up. Their defense is tough just like Hamburg's and I think the Germans will struggle to score too. Especially not before 5,000 home fans that will give extra motive to Kristianstad's players.     The first meeting turned out to be a real drama and I expect a similar outcome today. Craiova's win at 1.3 is ridiculous. They are having many ups and downs, just like Partizan and both teams say they will fight down to the very last point. The margin is set pretty high and teams can go over it in 4 sets. The chance of any team winning in straight sets are extremely slim. 200 points were recorded in their meeting two weeks ago and we simply cannot miss out on a margin that is set a few points too low.     The margin for this game is based on Stord's form, as they've had and hot'n'cold run, but they're a tough nut to crack at home. They've played four games and never went over 50, in tough battles with Bodo and Haslum, which they've lost, while they beat Fyllingen. In those games Stord played tough defense and patient offense, and we can expect the same today, as the away team are still better right now. Also, we can hardly expect Traberg to score 11 once again, which contributed quite a bit to the end score against BSK. OIF also have a number of tough and hard games behind them, and have a great defense and goalie. They concede 23 goals on average, and I don't expect that to go much higher today either. Considering the defenses and importance of the match for both teams, I expect a hard battle and a maximum of about 50 goals. The stake could be higher if the away team's top scorer had not returned to the team, but he was on the team even when OIF ended matches with a total of 35 goals. Details

    Today, Lepzig and Metzingen are to play the 17th round match that was supposed to take place early March next year. Metzingen are one point up in the table (one game more). Leipzig won their first head-to-head meeting this season some two months ago by one goal 26-25. Leipzig had a better start and a lead at half time, but Metzingen took initiative in the second half to stay two points up until the last five minutes, when Leipzig caught up and took the lead. Metzingen had the chance to equalize and get one point.

    What is the situation like ahead of this match? Leipzig are playing two competitions. They lost home to Dinamo on Sunday and play a Championship League match in Crimea on Friday. That match will decide how many point Leipzig will carry to the next round and which place they will end up in. They still can't count on injured Rosike, Diehl, Lederer and Atladottir, all of whom were there for the first head-to-head with Metzingen. Middle back Lang is on the team now.

    That defeat to Leipzig was Metzingen's last one. It was followed by 6 consecutive wins, the last one being recorded away in Bad Wildungen last weekend. They are on a winning streak, have top back players, and last season's top scorer Minevskaya. With 74 goal, she the top scorer this season as well, while Kudlacz, Leipzig's top scorer has 56 goals so far. Metzingen are now better organized and expect even better performances as the season advances.

    Leipzig took a three-goals lead at one point in the last head-to-head game to go on and fight to prevent Metzingen from scoring the equalizer. The team is tired after two consecutive defeats and they have that important CL game on Friday. It's a great chance for Metzingen to win points back and I think that the handicap margin set today is great material. Details

    I expected 1.35-1.40 at Chrudim but the bookies offered 1.5 and online bookies 1.66 for their win. I have no choice but to go with that with higher stake. Slovaks won the close game against Azer yesterday after Azer pulled the goal keeper out to allow Slov-Matic to score to goals.

    Churdim failed badly yesterday. They had high expectations of this competition to record the opening defeat to Dina from Moscow. Dina are head and shoulders about every other team in the group. The team that has been together for a few seasons is clearly too tough a challenge for everyone else. Churdim will try and make amends for yesterday's failure against the Slovaks. Slov-Matic's top player is a Czech, while the Czech team have a number of Brazilians, which makes them three times more valuable on the market than Slov-Matic. They acquired one new player just or this competition and despite losing yesterday, should be able to win this. Details
