    Today Partizan will raise their level of defense, there's no doubt about that, they're a team led by Djikic, after all. Even if they want, they can't really raise the quality of their offense game. In the last five matches Zvezda didn't allow over 67 points. Mega, who are offensively potent, they left in the finals at 64 and 66. In the first one against Partizan they allowed 53. Zvezda aren't too good offensive-wise either, and I don't expect a lot of points here. To me, this looks like the match they played in the Cup when Partizan won with 68-60.     It's the third day and the third round of the first Europa League tournament which is being played in Montenegro. After two rounds, Montenegro have a single win (Spain 3-0) and one defeat by Azerbaijan (0-3), and the French lost twice , firs to Azerbaijan (0-3), and then to Spain (2-3). The momentum is fully on Montenegro's side at the moment. From a result point of view, Montenegro have proved to be a lot better. Firstly, they had less total errors, their serve was killer and they were convincing at the block on which they've recorded 23 points. France profited from the block only 18 times, and they played two sets more compared to Montenegro. The second thing is individual quality, such as Montenegro's Tatjana Bokan. Furthermore, the Montenegrian block is only gaining experience and getting better (Otasevic, Milovic, Lakovic), and that's why they dominate this tour. In the end let's mention the support of the home audience, as well as the fact that France had less time to rest for today. Details

    Yesterday Estonia rotated a lot of the players against Luxembourg, so there is a lot of freshness and energy for this match where only the best will play. We're talking about the best national team in the Europa League, and their only goal is to win and to enter the World League for next year. They have a lot of good players who are playing in strong European clubs and they're the big favorites here. Austria can be dangerous, but they didn't play anything special against Luxembourg and Belarus. It all depends too much on Zass and Berger, and the rest of the team simply can't follow the leaders.     Luxembourg have been in the competitors' rhythm for a longer period of time and they're not bad at all, and neither should they be taken lightly. Lately they took a set to Austria twice, who are a stronger team than Belarus. Belarus are better than in the last European Championship, but they are still a limited team who are playing without their best players (Akhrem, Antanovich, Haramykin) and they oscillate a lot. They took a set from Austria and Estonia, but they don't have the quality to be on such odds against Luxembourg. I except Luxembourg to fight, even maybe take a set, and the margin is low enough for this to pass in three sets. Details

    This is quite a high margin for a final game, but I think that Ulm won't do better today than in the last seasons when they were losing by 20 in Bamberg. Ulm definitely deserve respect for getting to the final, but Brose proved this season that they're above other teams in Bundesliga. They win their home games by 25 per game, they haven't lost a playoff game, and they embarrassed Bayern in the semis, beating them by 15 and 31 at home, and Wurzburg by 41 and 35 in their arena. Ulm managed to get one road win in Oldenburg and Frankfurt, and all home ones, so that's how they got to the finals, but they haven't been convincing on the road, losing six of the last ten, and by 33 in Bamberg mid April. Ulm don't have a center that could dominate the paint. Morgan and Rubit have been pretty good in the playoffs, but the home team's center line is powerful defensively, and fast, something not to the guests' liking. The difference in width and quality is even bigger in Brose's favor in the guard positions. Also, the coach Trinchieri keeps Brose at the same level for 40 minutes, he's not letting his guard down, and that's why I'll go for the entire game's handicap. Brose were leading by a smaller number of points after the first half compared to the second in only few games, against weaker teams while they were playing the Euroleague. Against bigger teams (Alba, Ulm, Bayern, Frankfurt, Oldenburg, Ludwigsburg), they always increased the difference in the second half, and got convincing double-digit wins. This is the fight for the Euroleague, Brose have been waiting for this for the entire season, they said themselves that a season without the champion title makes no sense. Motivated as they are, playing at home, I think Brose can't win this by under 20+ points. Details

    Russia will play the last qualifier match with a mixed lineup with a few seeds (Ilina, Vyakhireva, Dmitrieva, Sen. Postnova, Borobnikova) and a few on the wider list (Atkova, Trusova, Suslova, Kozhokar), but who don't have experience of playing in the national team. The offensively great players dominate. This match is irrelevant result-wise, and the Russians had a few days to rest after the long club season, so they can't wait for the break starting June 21st, when the qualifiers for the Olympics are beginning in Sochi. Turkey lost to Denmark on Wednesday, losing any chance to get placed to the EC. The Turks came here to play their last game this season with no pressure. So, within that context, when the rotations were announced on both sides, we can expect more fun for the fans in Krasnodar, and a rerun of the first game from Ankara that ended with 74 goals total.     Iran got the ticket for the Olympics today and this is a historic success. They didn't play this tournament especially well, but were really focused in key moments so everything was on their side when they needed it. The coach and the players are only talking about having fun after this success, so they don't really care about this last game, so I'm sure there'll be a lot of changes in their lineup. Venezuela took two sets from France today, winning one when the French had their toughest lineup. They got their first point in this competition there, winning trust for the last game. They also took a set from Japan and Australia, deserved to take one against Canada, maybe even Poland. They're not a bad team at all, they surprised me by getting better with each round. Their starter Pinerua got some rest today, so they'll be in full lineup again. I expect them to leave this tournament after a good performance altogether, because they have to play the World League after that, so they should win at least one set here. I'll go for the points handicap because of the better odds. They're strong physically, they just need to be organized better. Compared to Iran's situation, the odds for winning the set are even bigger here because it's still unknown how many of Iran's players will even come to this game. Details
