    The best option here is Portugal not scoring. Even though they need to win to get through, they do not have the quality for something like that. England won't let them have counter attacks like Scotland did.

    Portugal's results against Top 20 teams in the last two years are: Spain 0-2, 1-3, Norway 0-2, Canada 0-0, Denmark 0-6, 1-3, Russia 0-1, 0-1, Spain 1-4, Denmark 1-3, New Zealand 0-1, Brazil 1-3.

    Teams that score against England in the last two years are much better than Portugal: the US, Germany, Belgium, France, Spain, Norway, Italy, Denmark. No team from outside of Top 20 scored against them.

    Regardless of possible changes to the English team, Portugal won't get any better in offense and will struggle to score.England won't concede any goals to Portugal like they didn't in the first two games here. Details

    Macedonia played no preparation games in the final stage of their preparation period. Their sparring partner was Macedonian younger team and they had just two tests against European teams. In those games we had a chance to see how much they can really do. They recorded two convincing defeats, first to Hungary 20-37 and then Montenegro 23-37. Macedonia have another defeat to Montenegro (16-27) from October of last year. Those defeats to Montenegro are interesting because Croatia played Montenegro in two test games. They lost one 17-24 and won the other one 22-19. That says Croatia are close to Montenegro when it comes to quality even though their results from the past two years say they have much greater potential. Let's just mention that Croatians beat France, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands twice in the last three years. All of those are Top 10 teams. Let's also add that Macedonia recorded 7 defeats at U17 EC and that they were all by more than 9 goals. Croatia are after one of the top two spots in the group. Goal difference might therefore be important and one way to pump the goal difference is against Macedonia. Details

    This game is not very important, both teams are offense-oriented and I expect a lot of goals. Iceland have 28-34 with Denmark and 28-33 with Poland from last year's EC. At 2014 EC, they played 33-29 against Croatia. Norway are more productive than Denmark and Poland and less then then Croatia. They have 34-32 from a irrelevant qualifying game for this competition.

    Norway have 35-28 with Poland and 31-31 with Denmark from last year's EC. Both of those teams are tougher than Iceland. At 2015 WC, they have 29-29 with Brazil and 27-32 with Sweden. At the same competition, they have 32-29 with Iceland in group stage, in a game that decided the top spot of the group.

    Iceland mostly met tough opponents here. Yesterday's game with Tunisia was tough and important. Noway have 60 and 61 with Germany and Denmark here in much more important games. The only problem might be Hungary in the group (54 goals, 20 in the second half, 37 saves by goal keepers in total). But that was also a more important game. The stake today is spot 11.     This is basically the final for South Korea and New Zealand. If New Zealand beat Korea today, they will secure the World Championship. Korea can do the same if they win. New Zealand don't have a good offensive end but the defense is very good. They score 59,3 points on average, which is less than any other team. Their three-point percentage is 22 percent (also worst than any other team) and they shoot 36,1 percent from the floor. They averaged 59,3 points and allowed 58,3 in the group with China, Taipei and North Korea. They went at 112 with Taipei, who are most similar to Korea. South Korea were in a more competitive group with Japan and Australia and had 36,8 percent shooting. Some important players are clearly missed. They played at 126 against run and gun Japan and 132 against Australia. Last year in the Olympic qualifiers in the key game they lost to Belarus 39-56. This is another key game and I don't think it will fall apart. I think Korea with struggle with their opponents' toughness. At the same time, New Zealand cannot get their numbers significantly higher. Details

    The Americans have changed their team throughout the tournament because the rules allow them to. The most experienced players from the MLS league are now here: team captain Bradley, Dempsey, Altidore, goal keeper Howard, Ngabe and substitute goal keeper Gonzalez. The first five have gotten the quality of the team up in QFs and semis, which is why it's no surprise the US are the in final.
    Ahead of the tournament, Mexico and the US were expected to play the final but Jamaica got in the way again. Two years ago in the semis, they beat the Americans and lost the final to Mexico. This time, they managed to beat Mexico in the semis.
