    Falla is among the worst Top 100 players at the moment and Chardy should have lost against him. The Colombian had a one-break advantage in three out of four sets and Chardy was vulnerable. I don't know if it was his shoulder or he's just out of form, but he admits he's in a crisis. He made 10 double faults against Falla. Generally speaking, he hasn't done well this summer as he has only 1 win in last 5 matches and he even lost one set against Delbonis who doesn't have the game for hard court. This would be a bet against him had Kavčić not beaten Young so convincingly. He had a terrible start of the match, but he turned things around and played just liked he would have wanted - consistently, patiently and without too many errors. Just enough to take out the Frenchman with many fluctuations in his performances. If Falla got over this margin in his crisis, the Slovenian should do so too. The Frenchman is struggling too much and cannot win this one in three sets, if he wins it at all. Details

    Sousa is a Top 50 player but he has often played below that level. At the same time Dancevic is a Top 100 material but is not in that company. My subjective opinion is that the Portuguese will cover this handicap and I have a few reasons to believe that. First of all, Sousa is not player to rush out and Bombard the Canadian with his strokes but he will patiently build his game. Longer rallies mean more chances for winning points against players like Dancevic. Secondly, Frank has been complaining about his injuries every other match and best-out-of-three matches are his sore spot. There's no way he can hold the same intensity throughout the entire match and that's something Sousa is capable of. The Portuguese was close to beating Janowicz last week, and he would probably have won had the Pole admitted touching the ball during the crucial break chance. Joao has many problems but the fact is when he's on his best day, he's a Top 50 player. What does Dancevic have? 6-4 6-0 against Paire, a on set against Young, and then 6-0 6-3, and 6-1 6-3 against the same player. Sousa is better than both of those players; Dancevic may have the talent to take one set but he loses sets by 6-0 just because he can't keep up constant intensity. That's why I will go for this handicap that I think can go through in 5 sets, while Sousa's win is not even in doubt. After all, Dancevic has only passed the first round of USO once in 11 attempts.     This is the most important game for both teams. Both need to win by as many point as possible, but I don't see an easy win happening for either side for that very reason. The Dutch base most of their game on defense. They were destroyed by Israel last round, but Montenegro are not as good as Israelis offense-wise. The Dutch qualifying games ended with the following total number of points - 115, 123, 125, 123, and 143 against Israel with 83 points conceded. Montenegro have recorded three overs in five games, but I have to point out that the Netherlands conceded 66 points against Israel home, and 57 against Bulgaria. I don't think Montenegro can score 70, and that makes this bet a good choice. The Montenegro team under at around 71,5 points is just as good. Details

    Kerber did display some insecurity in her first round meeting with Pervak, but that match shouldn't be taken into consideration, since Pervak did brilliantly. It will be much easier for Kerber now since she recorded that win, and since Kudryavtseva isn't as good as Pervak. That got quite obvious in her match with Duan, when she lost the first set without a single chance. Luckily for her, Duan is a WTA level player, which allowed her to make a comeback. The German did best in the right moments, and I think she'll do as good as she can to win this easily. The best option here is the bet at smaller number of games - I believe Kerber will try and end this as quickly as possible. Details

    The draw at 2014 Us Open is quite favorable for Cilic, but not until the later stage of the tournament. His first round opponent is more than tricky, and on top of that, has a lot of experience. Bagdathis has had ten consecutive wins that definitely restored some of the confidence he lost. He knows he's the underdog here, but that is when he's most dangerous. Cilic has recently been losing only to top players, but he is more than capable to complicate each and every of his matches. He had to play three sets with Istomin and Jaziri in Toronto, and we should note that he talked about an injury he's struggling with after his last match in Cincinnati. He claims to be fit and ready here, but I don't think he will have it easy today. I think Baghdatis will win at least one set, which will be more than enough for this margin. Details

    Rosol has lost his match with Coric in straight sets yesterday. Following that defeat, he said that he lost power since he played the final at Winston-Salem. Janowitz played the same final, and lost it. He said that the main reason for the defeat was his busy schedule - much busier than the opponent's. The Czech player had done three matches, while Janowitz did 6. That will make fatigue an important factor in this match. Besides, Janowicz never recorded a main draw win at US Open. He lost to Maxim Gonzales last year in straight sets. Lajovic didn't do any preparation matches on hard court, but he did come to New York a week before the start of the tournament to train. He's got the confidence as a result of 14 ATP wins this season. He could be among the Top 50 at season's end. Two of them met in Bastad recently, but Janovicz forfeited that match during the second set. Janovicz is capable of making enough mistakes for this to be a successful bet, and Lajovic has nothing to be afraid of. The Pole is still recording a lot of double faults. He got lucky last year since both Sousa and Querrey served for the win in their head-to-head matches. He did six matches last week, which is a lot for any player, especially for him. Lajovic's win would have been a good option for a bet as well, but I decided to go with the handicap because I think it will be successful if Lajovic wins one set. Details

    Klizan has not been doing well since he came to America. The injury that forced him to take a one-month break just before that is clearly taking its toll. As he said, the doctor suggested a surgery, but he decided to postpone it until the end of the season. Darcis knows just how big an effect the injury-caused breaks can have since he missed half of this season for the same reason. He got back early June and started with futures tournaments. He proved to be much better than that level. The odds at his qualifying matches here have been good since his ranking is quite poor. He was often the underdog despite playing worse-quality players. Klizan was once a Top 30 player, but I don't think he's the favorite here as the odds suggest. I'm more than happy to bet on the Belgian when the odds are set like this. Details

    After getting rid of her initial stage fright and her problems on the serve, Begu's performance against Soler Espinosa was impressive. She was unbelievably assured on her serve and I see her first serve as one of her biggest advantages in the upcoming match. So far, she has played against Vinci three times but the Italian has never been so poor as this season. She confirmed that in the math against Ormachea where she struggled against an injured opponent. Vinci just can't seem to get into the rhythm this season. Her slices are not efficient as going against her is definitely worth it. Coupled with her struggling serve, it's clear Begu's chances are much bigger than the bookies suggest and that's why it's worth going for her win with a moderate stake. Details

    Daniela doesn't deserve to be underestimated to such extent. Granted, she has had a bad season, with a 4-9 record on hard court, but Cornet didn't record two consecutive wins ever since Wimbledon. Her performances on hard court were not good, and she is not doing well when it comes to their head-to-head matches either. They count even though they took place a few years ago. Hantucova attacks early, which will give Cornet less time to develop her game. Besides, Daniela proved she knows when to come on net against her. I'm convinced she will set the course of this match. Hantuchova is not reliable enough this year to chose for higher stakes, but she will have her chances in this match. The counter-handicap of 4,5 games is a good choice, even more so if we take Cornet's recent hard court performances into consideration. Details

    After everything that happened to Gajdosova (health problems, death of her mother) and following a few good ITF performances, she deserved to get here on a wild card. She hopes to use it well, and I believe she would, especially because I know what she was capable of when at her best. Keys is, on the other hand, unstable, she didn't prepare for US Open well, and Gajdosova should take advantage of it. The draw is unfavorable for Keys, that true, but the number of mistakes she records is too high to miss out on this. Gadosova can get her off her game, since Keys doesn't have the proper rhythm in her matches. I think things can get complicated here. Details
